Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Favorite restaurant however meal, arrived cold.. the waiter comped a drink, I ate alone since my wife had completed her meal. I don’t want to give up on Bacchaus because I truly love the place. This was just a bad, expensive experience that I would never expect from Mr. Meitus.
Outstanding in every way! Atmosphere; candlelit tables, comfortable seating, perfect level of lighting and background music makes for eaay conversation even for larger parties. Service is attentive and professional. The food is stupid good. Creative but not too out there. Something for every pallet. Flexible. Extremely customer experience focused. Owner/Chef Brian Mietus is a truly gifted gem. Exceeded expectations from small plates to dessert.
I met friends there for a pre-concert meal with wine. Our waitress was fantastic, humorous but not over-the-top and right in with a bunch of women. I had the mussels which were wonderful and the beet salad. If you like beets you will love the beet salad. The only other place I had better mussels were in Belgium, Europe. You've got to try their mussels if you like them. Def. recommend the restaurant. A good local restaurant in the local restaurant gems of Buffalo, NY
Once again, Bacchus delivered. Delivered the EXACT same experience that I’ve had every time I come to this incredible establishment. Once a year I come in for a Bills game and every single time I come to Bacchus. From the environment they maintain to the servers that grace the tables to the absolutely incredible food the chef produces, Bacchus creates an atmosphere that is incredibly memorable...
I’ll be back next again next year Bacchus...
It has been a couple of year since I last visited Bacchus. This most recent time certainly did not disappoint, and left us wondering why we waiting so long before visiting. In the nut shell, the food was absolutely superb. My ahi tuna, my date's swordfish, and our friend's pork chop special were uniformly and absolutely out of this world. The special roasted garlic bisque was likely superb. The service was exemplary, with an attentive but not overbearing staff. It was truly an enjoyable evening. Also notable was a knowledgable staff and wines.
This was our first visit to the Bacchus Restaurant in Buffalo, NY. We Had the Portobello goat cheese salad, roasted duck breast and the porcini mushroom ravioli, accompanied by a Finger Lakes White. Service was efficient, attentive and friendly. Cuisine was the best we've had in a while. Definitely a place for a great date night. Thank you Bacchus.
I recently hosted a four person business meal; after an intense three hour brainstorming session; I mentioned it to Steve the manager and my favorite ; knowledgeable waiter. They pre -selected an off the menu Rioja red wine that was perfect for the occasion, the service was beautifully paced; and along with the excellent food it led to an outstanding evening of food and fellowship. My client will be a repeat customer. We had the beet salad and deep fried calamari and rock shimp, for appetizers ;both were able and very tasty. The bread course is always interesting and the oil is very well seasoned. Two of us had the halibut special with was served with cubed squash and curry species, it was memorially unusal and delicious. The other two had the filet minion which were both perfectly medium rare. We finished the meal with cognac and all left delighted and looking forward to our next visit.
We sit at the bar whenever we dine here and the service is excellent. Bartenders make very good drinks. The food is exceptional. Dishes are very creative and the specials are consistently good. Calamari (I order it without the shrimp) and Steak and Eggs (beef carpaccio) are delicious appetizers. Rib eye is to die for if you're hungry. Bar is lively and can be a bit noisy but it is generally a friendly atmosphere.
Our dinners were delicious from our small plates to our entrees. The service was outstanding and our waiter, Paul, took great care of us. I had a very generous gift certificate and while my son was visiting, we decided to use it. My steak was butter knife tender and my husband and son thought their seafood was delicious too. We split a creme brulee cheesecake for dessert and that was wonderful as well. We had a terrific experience and I'd happily return!
The food was excellent as always. However, we waited over 20 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. Another couple came after us, but was seated before we were. When we finally got to our table, we found a dirty plate on our table. When we asked our server for a clean plate, he didn't seem phased by it or apologetic.
Take a moment right now, and Thank the person who recommended you to this place. Or better yet, if you came across this wonderful place on your own. Please feel free to pat yourself on your back, you deserve it. Why??, you may ask. Thats simple, you are just a call or Open table away from making a reservation to a great dining experience.
Baccahus is my wife and my favorite place to dine for every occassion, even if we come just for desserts and a drink. The food is amazing, if I was to get into the details of the appettizers all the way to the actual dinner. I would need more space in this review than I am allowed. But Morpheus from the movie the Matrix said it best. "You take the blue pill, your hope for a great time ends. ... You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and Baccahus will show you how great your dining experience goes."
Take the red pill people and enjoy your evening.
