Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant
Had a wonderful relaxed meal to celebrate my daughters birthday. Kristin was attentive and made several good recommendations - will come back again for sure!
Been there several times this year and each time was excellent. Hard to find restaurants that the food is. consistent. The wait staff are very professional without being snobby. One of the best three restaurants in Buffalo.
Good food, although some of our meals weren’t up to their usual standards. Very slow service which was extremely disappointing. The restaurant was incredibly loud with numerous large parties making it difficult to have a conversation at our table sometime. Can’t say that I would rush back
Love this place. Service was a bit slower than normal and seems they might have been short staffed. Almost gave them 5 out of 5 but was just a bit slower than normal for just taking our orders, drinks etc. Food was still exceptional as always.
Was our ten year anniversary and invited friends
Fabulous food in an attractive setting
Got us to the theater on time with a delicious dinner.
All of our food was phenomenal, the service was fast, and our server Kristen made the experience extremely enjoyable.
Bacchus was sensational as we expected. Food was delicious, beautifully presented and served perfectly!
This restaurant is a great find. The food is always excellent, and the service is impeccable. Don't wait for a special occasion. Dining here is a special occasion.
Outstanding, from the ambiance to the food to the absolute fantastic service!! It is by far one of the finest restaurants in Buffalo!!! Thankyou for a absolutely wonderful experience!! Also kudos to our wonderful server Paul knowledgeable and was there for our every need !!!
Phenomenal in every way!! I had the beet salad, the swordfish, and the sticky toffee cake dessert. It’s hard to describe the party in my mouth!!!! Highest quality and total perfection in preparation. Pricey, but in line for the experience. Only disappointment was the size of the wine pours for the cost. Loved Bacchus!!!!
We always try and go once during the Theatre season. It is one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Buffalo. The food is always great. Nick our server was awesome.
The food was excellent and the server was aware that we had to leave so as to make the theatre and expeditiously got us out on time. You will want a full hour and forty five minutes to allow for adequate time to dine and walk to Shea's from the restaurant.
We waited almost 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. We were seated (we had a reservation) at a nice table. They arrived promptly to pour water and then we sat there for 30 minutes before our waiter even brought menus and took our drink order. He was not friendly. Food arrived within a reasonable time after our order. My filet was the only thing that was well done, though I ordered it medium. The waiter never returned until after our meals were finished to check on us. He seemed preoccupied with the table next to ours. Meals were small for the price and nothing to shout about. Too bad, this was how we spent our 20th wedding anniversary. Epic fail.
Good food. Service was average. I will definitely go back.
The restaurant week deal was perfect. We all enjoyed our entrees, the wine was, as always, fabulous and desserts were delicious. Our server was personable and professional. It’s my very favorite restaurant!
Loved everything. Good food. Great service. Will be back with friends..
Well started off on the wrong foot. Found something in our bottle of wine. Then we asked for a new one and it was the last one. We then asked for a different one they were out. So I settled on a glass. However the food was delicious and our waiter Angelo was so apologetic and courteous. He made our bad into a good...
We did complain about the knives which were attractive but not very user friendly and the tomatoes served with the chicken had way too much vinegar on the. The Tuna tartar was very unremarkable and bland.
The rest of the meals were excellent.
Bacchus is always our go-to place before a show or concert. It did not disappoint this time. From the presentation to the quality to the service, the meals are always top-notch.
The food is amazing. Nowhere else can beat how delicious eveything is.
The food is always amazing but service could be faster
Very nice evening, good food , good wine and good company
Awesome . Great night!
First time at Bacchus. Not sure why we waited so long to come. Food was fantastic and the hostess Kristen may be the best hostess we ever had at a restaurant. The food alone was 5 stars but Kristen’s service, food recommendations , wine knowledge, and demeanor knocked it our is the park.
My friend and I shared the pecan-crusted salmon, and we each had a small plate. The experience was terrific, from the ambience to the delivery and presentation of food. We are looking forward to going back for the gnocchi Mac and cheese - hopefully that will be back on the menu soon!
We hadn't been to Bacchus in several years. Our dinner last Saturday night left us wanting to come back ASAP. I wouldn't change anything. Apps, mains, wine, service were all great.
Outstanding food. I ordered the chicken, which I normally don’t do at a restaurant because I cook it at home a lot, but I’m so glad I did because it was wonderful. The corn bisque was heavenly. I love this restaurant. One of the top 5 in all of WNY, for sure.
What a wonderful dinner. My daughter, and son-in-law joined my wife and I before seeing "Mean Girls" at Shea's this past Thursday evening. We were greeted by our hostess and seated at a table for four right along Chippewa St. We enjoyed a few drinks while looking over the menu. My wife had the tomato bisque, my daughter and her husband the cheese plate, and I had a Caesar salad. All were outstanding. for dinner, my wife and I had the filet, my daughter the salmon, and my son-in-law the ribeye steak. Oh my, the filet was one of the very best I have ever eaten!! Even at more expensive "steakhouses", in Buffalo and elsewhere. We had outstanding bottles of Cabernet and Pinot Noir with dinner. For dissert we shared the chocolate dessert. The Black Sambuca Was a wonderful ending to a wonderful meal, served with 3 coffee beans of course!! Our waitress Susan was prompt and very attentive to our needs. Service was absolutely perfect. Not slow but not rushed either. We made it to our seats at Shea's in plenty of time. We all agreed we will be back. If you are attending a show at Shea's, I highly recommend Bacchus for dinner.
My wife and I went for our 20th Anniversary which I mentioned in the booking but nothing was ever mentioned once at the restaurant.
Wine was excellent
Bread was great as was the olive oil dip...
We both shared our appetizers... cheese plate was just 4 little pieces of amazing cheeses served with several homemade crackers as well as an awesome marmalade... there could have been more cheese and crackers. We also got the calamari and rock shrimp which was awesome.
We both got the duck breast, which was one of the main reasons we went there... it was very good... skin could have been rendered more as well as crispier. Not the best duck we’ve ever had but still very good. The risotto was very good as well
Dessert was creme Brûlée and creme Brûlée cheesecake. Absolutely nothing special about them. The creme Brûlée was not in the top 5 of those I’ve had.
Now for the service.... the first half an hour he was very good... then we almost never saw him again. ...he never offered us more bread... he never offered my wife another glass of wine, he never came around and asked us how we liked the food. He lost sales and tip because of this and finally having to ask another waiter to get us our check....
Probably won’t be back....
It had been a few years since dining at Bacchus and I was as pleased as I had been in the past. Our server was very helpful in describing and suggesting dishes that we might like. My swordfish was prepared perfectly and was delicious and more than I could eat. The other diner had a rib eye steak that melted in your mouth. There was a very nice wine list to order by the glass. Dessert topped off a 5 star meal!
Everything from the service to the food was outstanding!!
Went on a Sunday, Service ( Susan) was wonderful, Food was great. Rib eye was perfect
Kristen our server was honestly the best server I've ever had. Food is always outstanding here.
Food was incredible as always but the service was a little slow. Had to circle the block twice for valet, took 15 minutes to get our check after asking. They knew we were headed to Shea's. Understaffed for a Saturday night. Also, someone hit our Cadillac in the valet lot. This has been our pre-theatre place to dine but I think it's time to look around.
Food was excellent and so was our server! However, we were seated and had to ask for service after waiting about 10mins. Appears to be short on staff.
Filet is awesome and the creme brulee is to die for
