My daughter took me out for my birthday we had a wonderful meal and a great time.
great food always and great value for restaurant week
Went to Bacchus before the symphony. Going before the performance is early and you nearly have the place to yourself. The food and service are always good. We eat fairly light before a performance. Bacchus has a good drink and food selection. We will return.
The seating by the fireplace was cozy. I dislike being called "guys" by the female maître-d each time she chose to speak to us....Our waiter was OK, had to be asked to bring a straw for my bloody mary, loaded with ice cubes, my salmon dinner was lovely, my husband's pot roast tough. Not very elegant service, pretty country-style (maybe that's what they aim for, however, their prices DO NOT reflect "down home" food!!) Big bill, little service, however, it's the only nice sort of place in town, so we'll prob ably be back and try again!
We dined on New Year's Eve and the dinner was delicious!!! The Salmon with broccilini was amazing. The staff was very nice. We are looking forward to dining their again. it is located in the Doubletree Hotel in Rohnert Park.....
We were not told that there was to be a fixed menu, or price for Christmas dinner. Reservation made on line through Open Table; no verbal exchange. On our table, there was a small (4-1/4 " x 5-1/2") paper with very tiny writing noting "Family Style Christmas Dinner": "winter salad, braised short ribs in red wine, roasted split game hens, Mac & 5 cheeses , mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and dessert buffet". No water or bread were served; we were not asked about ordering wine. Within a few minutes a waiter arrived with a large bowl of the mixed salad. We requested ordering wine; advised him that two of the party were vegetarians asking if there was any substitution possible. The chef found two orders of salmon were still available. We were asked if we had special ordered when we made the reservation -- not possible on line. After the wine was served, we started the salad. Several times we were asked if we wanted the entrees to be served. About 5 to 7 minutes later another waiter started bringing in the dinner platters: large bowl of mashed potatoes, a large platter of grilled/roasted vegetables, a larger bowl of Mac & cheese (we refused), and the two meat dishes on the same platter, with some beef juices under the pieces of beef, near the chicken. I asked for a spoon for the juice/gravy, and was given a small teaspoon. Even though we had two salmon dinners, we were served the other meat platter with enough for four. Several times the waiters advised that we could order more of any of the food. The two non-vegetarians could not finish all the meat served. We asked for a take-away box, which was denied. The waiter said they were not using those that day. We asked if the food was to be given away; he apologetically said "no, it will be thrown out". What a waste!!! No coffee or tea was offered. Dessert buffet was some distance from our table. The bill was four dinners at the fixed price. We took home the dessert on plates, napkin wrapped.
Christmas Eve dinner before Candle Light Service. We had an early dinner.
Every visit is always a positive one. Getting to sit by the fire on a cold afternoon make this place a frequent visitor mine. Staff and food are always excellent.
We had very bad experience! I was planning to have a surprise birthday celebration for my daughter , a day before i made sure with the manager if it's ok to bring our own cake and the musical candle for the cake , i even showed her the candle she was very sweet and she even wrote a note to the next day's evening manager and the staff.
But unfortunately when our server arrived to ask us what we would like to have for drink .... instead she said "so we have a birthday today"
She ruined everything !! I went to talk to the manager Jody Her answer was as simple as "I am sorry" I asked her to check the note , she lied saying there is no note !! But I saw the note with my own eyes....
anyway after dinner we were expecting the cake with the musical candle and here it is with just few regular candle ... her answer "we cant have this kind of candle it's dangerous" ok I understand but why yesterday's manager didn't warn me ?? Anyway In one word they are not professionals and lack of communication.
The food was awful and the price way too high .
It was great! I really liked the salmon and mashed potatoes. Very happy with the drinks too;)
If the weather is nice and you can get an outside table...or if you get a table near the fire on a cool winter's day Bacchus can be a cozy place for a quick bite. We were disappointed there was no soup offered on the day we visited.
Great spot for a business lunch. Food is good. Limited menu but everyone should find something
Ali was an exceptional server.
We asked to be seated outside and when the host took us outside there wasn't one clean table he sat us at a table that had wine all over it and dirty plastic cups it took him a while to come back and then my husband and I decided to go inside to the dining area where it ended up being very noisy. There was a table next to us with 4 guests that I believe got overserved alcohol they were talking extremely loud and bickering. One lady couldn't even walk to the bathroom alone. It completely ruined the experience for my husband and I. The food wasn't that great. My husband ordered fried chicken and when it came out it look like roasted chicken. I ordered a steak that came out pretty good but the vegetables were flavorless over cooks and it wasn't that spectacular . This restaurant seems that it caters to their hotel guests more than people coming in from the outside. There was a lot of stuff going on maybe would be a better atmosphere for a group of friends but not a date or a nice meal out. On an up note our server was attentive and amazing.
The service was very poor. The waiter was too talkative to the patrons to such a degree he did not pay attention when asked for various items of service. The coffee machine was broken so the coffee was cold, he did apologize. Several times the waiter came to our table asking if we needed anything else but never came back. I had to go to the hostess desk to obtain my bill to pay. The food was very good. Wine excellent. Just needs more experience in service.
VERY limited menu. Service was okay. Salads were ordinary at best. Only one of four entrees had good flavor. Prices would be okay if the food was good. However, the food was not that great but the prices were. Would not go back again. Too many other good choices in the area.
Thank you chef Gabe for such a wonderful meal every time.
Pleasantly surprised here. this was a 1000-point selection . DoubleTree did not disappoint. The food was all cooked to our satisfaction including a very delicious Caesar salads. This also included a very well-done chesse Burger. My son ate every bit of it celebrating his graduation from Junior High. We were lucky enough to be there during a wine convention and enjoyed a nice jazz music playing in the background. Our server Jessica was outstanding and very attentive. She helped make this visit a returnable one ,great job.
it's nice to find an all around good quality good value restaurant located within the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. We were celebrating my son's 17th birthday with his teenage friends, and it was a place where we could be away from others and not disturb them while sitting next to a nice fireplace. The wine list had local wines and since it's located in Sonoma County, that was a nice thing to have.
We each (3 of us) had a salad and an appetizer and for what it was, it was fine. But it was nothing special, it is essential hotel décor, and unless you are a guest at the hotel or going to a concert at the Green Center (which we were, and there are very few viable options around there), I would not select this restaurant over the many other choices in the broader area. I would strongly suggest to management however that whatever else it may elect to do, or not to do, it "spring" for an espresso maker. You can get a cappuccino nowadays at almost any auto service center while awaiting your car, but not at this restaurant.
Wanted to have a bite to eat before heading to Green Music Center for a 7:30 pm performance. Made 6 pm reservations...which weren't needed. We were the only people dining. As a result of the early hour, we had prompt service. We used to go to Bacchus ages ago and it has changed into a much more casual dining experience. We were definitely over-dressed and the restaurant didn't have a"special occasion" atmosphere at all. Still, the food was tasty , the cocktails delicious and we made it in time for our show. Nice for casual dining. Nothing too special.
Started with NE clam chowder, delicious and generous bowl. My husband's chicken and sausage quesadilla was not great -- overcooked sausage, bland taste. My portobello sandwich was good. Wines were very pricey. Ambience was pleasant with fireplace going on a rainy day.
My friends and visited this restaurant, ironically during restaurant week. We also enjoyed the breakfast at this location as well. All were flavorful. This location is one of the hidden gems. The staff we kind and very attentive. We will definitely return upon visiting to Sonoma again
The food was terrific for Restaurant Week. They even offered a glass of white wine and red wine for a total of $10 extra. For $29 the menu was fantastic, the food great and the dessert even better.
Made our reservation during Sonoma County Restaurant Week. It was fairly busy in the restaurant but we had a nice table by the fireplace and excellent service. The short rib was a delicious special on the prix fixe menu...absolutely tender and juicy with a great gravy, broccolini, and potatoes. Nice wine pairing suggestions from a local winery, Marimar. Dessert was a ridiculously mouthwatering Doubletree "cookie" with gelato and a carmelized banana. So good, but 2 of us opted to share just one dessert.
The food was absolutely wonderful. I told chef they need to have cooking classes
Made a reservation for Valentine's Day however the host sat us in a bright lit area near the open kitchen and while we were heading there I said multiple times " I do not want to sit here I do not like it over here" and asked be seated in the dimly lit romantic area where there were flowers on the tables but the host just smiled and sat us in a bright lit area that reminded me of a hospital cafeteria. He asked if I wanted to move if a table opened up over there. My husband went to get his glasses and a server came and introduced himself but didn't offer me any water. My husband returned and a table in the area I wanted to sit " opened up". We were moved and there were 6 tables in a cozy area near the fireplace and only 2 of the 6 we're occupied . A young man asked us if we needed anything and was very helpful with the wine selection however our original server quickly came and said this was his table . We ordered the Valentine dinner. The soup was so hot I couldn't eat it so I asked for a to go container . The New York steak was a horrible cut, very fatty and burned on one side . Definitely NOT worth the $50 price tag per plate.
Sitting by the fireplace having dinner is very romantic and cozy
While attending a conference, our group of 7 gathered for a cocktail and dinner. We experienced excellent service and the quality of the meals were wonderful 😊
We had a very nice lunch at this restaurant. The ingredients were very fresh and top quality.
Our server was exceptionally courteous. Timing of the food delivery was perfect. Overall, I'd say this is a great spot for lunch or dinner that should be considered by all types of diners.
We (my GF and I) had the Cavatelli Pasta and the Petaluma Chicken Breast. The Pasta dish had a horrible taste. The sauce was chilly and "caked" on the Pasta around the outer area of the dish and piping hot and liquid towards the center. I asked if the dish was fresh or had it been put in a microwave. Waiter said it was fresh no microwave. I could not eat it.
She could not eat her chicken as served because it was bland. I tasted it and it was absent any flavor. She spiced it up with salt and pepper and we tried it again. It tasted like ... drum roll.... salt and pepper.
The table we dined at was by the fireplace and that was a very nice setting. Our waiter was very attentive. We left and went to a local restaurant to eat.
Christmas dinner was a large disappointment. The table was on a near thruway for tourists, waiters, etc and the service non existent for the first ten minutes and then someone came to the table every few minutes, more intrusive than helpful. The regular menu was not offered. The fixed price of $49 for 3 marginal choices was suggested and that if one wanted the regular menu, we were told it would take a long time to be served. The prime rib was tough and much of the portion was not edible due to fat and gristle. The first course of Wedding soup was excellent. Definitely not a repeater!
It was Christmas Day and I didn't expect much... the food was very good (prime rib)... seated near fireplace... our wait person was excellent... friendly and helpful. I would go again.
It's a restaurant in a Double Tree hotel so don't expect much. The staff is super friendly, but the prices are super inflated for the quality of the food.
Our dinner was very nice and they put us in a private room which was very enjoyable for our group. The food was excellent.
Another meal with perfectly cooked steak and frites with deliciously dressed arugula
We had a small intimate gathering of five to see off one of our friends. He is retiring and moving back to the east coast. The number attending changed several times and the staff was very accommodating. We requested the fireplace and we had a nice get together with fantastic conversation but private. Food although limited menu everything was done well. Will definitely return.
The restaurant is convenient to the Green Music Center for dinner before the Santa Rosa Symphony concerts. However, the service was slow, even though we advised the staff that we had a concert to attend within and hour and 15 minutes. We had to rush through our dessert and quickly pay so we would not be late to the concert. The food was adequate, but not extremely tasty or presented well. The chairs in the dining room are extremely large -- even a tall and heavy person needs a pillow for back support. The leg depth to the back rest is at least 6 to 8 inches too long to sit comfortably at the table.
We recommed this place only for its convenience to the theatre, not for the food. But maybe we'll try somewhere else next time.
The ambiance was much better than the culinary skills. Server James was great.
it was a nice meal and James was attentive. I think I took both parts of my cc receipt. will follow up with the hotel
