The food was great. Highly recommend duck.
Went for afternoon tea and was disappointed due to a number of factors. In all fairness, the restaurant does not just specialize in afternoon tea and there lies the rub. I prefer tea to be served in a bone china pot - keeps the water hotter. Didn't know what kind of tea it was but did not seem one of the better ones but that could have been due to the fact that it is difficult to keep water hot in a tea press therefore not getting the optimum flavour of the tea. Not enough food.
Always have a lovely dining experience at Bacchus. Went for my birthday lunch. Delicious food and lovely ambiance as always. Thank you!
This restaurant has always been my favorite....everything from the decor, ambiance, food, location and service....it's the best of the best
A lovely cozy setting with a table in the window--not crowded, and not noisy. A perfect spot to a lunch with an old friend or relative who enjoys really top quality food, wine and service.
it was very nice evening and dinner, far enough away from the bar, but load enoh to enjoy the piano. The put down my table number for the next time as we really liked
When I booked table it's not clear serving Valentine's special only, it was very pricey. However food and service were great!
Great atmosphere, very romantic
Lived in Vancouver most of my long life and I don't know how I've never dined at Bacchus until now. Found it through OpenTable with great reviews. Everything was excellent: our service was excellent, James our server was professional and even helped design one of their menu items (halibut) we ordered. Will definitely be back!
Everything was amazing.. the chef surprisingly welcomed us with a small but very tasty dish 👍
Fabulous. Table of eight. Everyone was pleased with their appetizers and entrees. The amuse bouche was amazing; it set the mood and increased the anticipation of good things to come. Maitre d was a welcome change.
It was our Wedding anniversary and it was our intention to have lunch. We did not expect a very limited a la cartel menu. My wife chose halibut fish and chips- and the batter was”soggy” and lukewarm (totally inedible! The fries were poor and hardly warm. The Cobb Salad that I settle for was blah. We will never eat there again.
Absolutely loved the food. However it was a bit hot in the restaurant.
Went here for a Valentine’s Day anniversary. Was delicious, nice atmosphere, fantastic service. Highly recommend it
Always very impressed with this restaurant, that’s why I go here frequently
Came for dine out, every thing was good
A great room without being crowded. Excellent value and service with a well rounded wine list.
Very easy to recommend for all dinner occasions.
Expectations for a lovely evening have never been let down.
main dish too salty
Service and others perfect
Great environment for dating
Very lovely afternoon tea. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. At $45 I thought it was a bit steep but good for a special occasion.
What a fantastic dinner. It was my first time eating 'bougie', mind you, so my perspective may differ from that of someone who regularly drops >$50 on a single meal. That said, from the moment I walked in, I was treated like royalty. Our server, Joel, was incredibly hospitable and charismatic. We did the Dine Out Menu, and took the accompanying Wine Pairing set.
Things I wish for? More wine (only a total of 9oz for the $22 add on), wasn't expecting to pay $7 for my latte, and more explanation of the wine and how it's going to pair with the food.
Benoit was fantastic, the food was great however I found the portions a little too big for my liking. Everything was tasty and served with a nice presentation, explanation and the service was excellent.
Great service, tasty food ........................,..
My wife and I were there for dine out Vancouver. The food was great. I love the way my duck confit was done. Crispy skin, soft tender meat and not dry out. My wife loved both desserts. The chocolate bar was not too sweet, just perfect. The only thing that was disappointing was our umbrella was stolen at the coat check area. So we had to leave the hotel getting wet. So if you plan to go there, keep your stuffs with you, I guess.
Had a great dine out experience here. The only thing is that the waitress who did my reservation noted that they are going to give us a happy birthday tag on the dessert, but we did not get the birthday tag when we went. The experience here was great though. Food was good too.
As it happened, we were here during the Dine-Out Vancouver period. The food was wonderful, the ambience was (as always), charming. Bacchus is unlike most restaurants in downtown - it's not too loud, is lush and a wonderful place for special moments. It is a wonderful place to bring out-of-town guests.
The Dine Out menu was as excellent as their menu is on a normal basis, and the restaurant should be commended for that.
The only small issue was that although we were there on a Monday night (with many empty tables), when we were sat we were asked if we planned to order from the Dine Out menu and told that we were subject to a 90 minute seating because we were going to order from the Dine Out menu. Ultimately, they didn't hold us to that, and the service was otherwise attentive.
Beautiful restaurant, beautiful ambience, exceptional food and service that could be wonderful.
We went for dine out and were extremely satisfied with both the food and the service. Although the room was fully booked we could have a conversation without raising our voices, which happens all too often at other restaurants.
Dinner was pleasant. Food was well-crafted and the flavours were complementary. Very minimal cocktail list with only classics. Decor and ambience was great. Atmosphere was very much a feeling of controlled formal dinning--professional and hierarchical--though I would have enjoyed a more relaxed, comfortable setting. Overall, well-executed, tasty dinner. Passion fruit creme brulee was incredible!
We came for Dine-Out Vancouver and really enjoyed ourselves. The service was great, and the live pianist was fabulous, highly recommend the duck confit.
Wonderful staff! Loved the ambiance.
Came here for Vancouver dine out. I had the steelhead and my husband had duck confit. Both tasted great! I enjoyed the tomato soup and dessert as well. There was live piano. Overall it was an enjoyable dine out experience.
It was so delicious! We ended up ordering off of the regular menu instead of dine-out (as we both really felt like lamb), and I am SO happy we opted for that option. It was DELICIOUS! One of the best lambs I've had in a long time. The service was impeccable, and we loved the pianist.
We can't wait to come back again.
Great waitress. Good food.
I think it could be the Dine Out Vancouver event that is slowing the food down in coming out of the kitchen but the when the food finally arrived, it was very good. They really focus on the quality.
Location is convenient enough, but don't expect to find 'cheap' parking around that area.
My dinner at Bacchus was outstanding . It was likely the best meal I have had ! The service was outstanding , the ambiance spectacular. It can be expensive but worth every penny! I would highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to go back !!!
We came for the Dine out Vancouver
Very nice dinner.
My first visit to this restaurant during this yeat Dine Out Vancouver. It was not as busy as I expected, comparing to my other Dine Out experience. Overall was a great experience. Great food quality, great service, as expected from a 4* rating restaurant. Wine pairing was a great option.
if someone doesn't drink in your party. Can be a bit noisy as it is attached to the hotel lounge area. Also, it is hard to find parking as it is in the the heart of down town area. I was told there is valet parking or simply don't drive. A good option to take advantage. Will go again for sure when occasion come.
A Bacchus meal always leaves one's belly and soul well nourished - thank you.
Two couples took advantage of the three course Dine Out offering at Bacchus, including wine pairings. Although the restaurant was busy, service was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was excellent- portions were on the small side but well- prepared and presented.
The restaurant is old-school but that is just fine. An excellent dining experience.
Main dish, encrusted steelhead was not presented well on the plate. Not appetizing. The duck confit was done with white beans, not! The ambiance, the service, the restaurant and rest of the meals were good.
Service was superb, food was wonderful. Scott, our server, was so on top of taking care of us! A very enjoyable evening!
Excellence on service unfortunately not matched by the food. Baseline ingredients lack lustre and plain, presentation very good though.
