I love this place. If you want a quick meal, this isn’t for you. The wait staff tends to leave you alone and it takes a minute to get food but that just leaves more time to enjoy your friends and your meal. The wine is very reasonably priced for New York and the food is fantastic. They used to have a lamb special, I’m still holding out hope they’ll bring it back. This place is vastly under appreciated.
The dining experience was overall very good. The only compliant I have is it's menu online on it's website was not the same menu they had at the restaurant. If they were going to have that discrepancy, it should at the very least me noted on it's website that the menu is not up to date.
Food was delicious! Service was awesome!
Staff was helpful and attentive. The food was well prepared: perfectly grilled octopus, parpadelle al dente, perhaps a little skimpy on the lobster...Delicious fondant, Ttin lacking in caramel. The hanger steak was cooked to my specs.
The menu is typical bistro, could be be more imaginative (except the octopus!)
Wine selection was amazing, although pricey, but we got a good bottle.
Great food! Excellent for a date
Really bad service, they rarely check on you, actually they didn’t check on us at all, every time we would have to go up to them, then proceed to wait and sometimes having to remind them after 20 minutes, they rarely checked on other tables so it was a bad look that we were the only black customers and they seemed to forget about us, they forgot parts of my order, we asked for bread and never got it until we were about to leave and the inside of it was cold so clearly they just took it out the fridge or something. All in all they should be ashamed of themselves.
After is rains be cautious of the mosquitoes
We were inside in the dark and got bit up
The table was small and rocky
Entrees was excellent
Appetizers not so much
Host and hostess were very nice 👍🏾
So we will come again
We enjoyed a Friday night dinner with good food, service and vibes. The food was tasty and our servers were attentive. We were also able to enjoy our meal and a lengthy conversation afterwards with our bring rushed.
It was a lovely dining experience! Excellent service, delicious food
Received uncooked steak (not requested medium) and mussels that were unopened and frankly dangerous to eat. Roasted potatoes were over salted and tasted/looked like not freshly made. Waste of time and money. Will not come back.
Wonderful food and super nice service.. the back patio was just lovely. Highly recommended!!
Best value wine selection - best duck confit and other traditional bistro dishes
Delicious food and great service.
We love this spot for a date night or to bring visiting friends or family! The backyard is so charming and the food is always amazing
Great back patio with outside seating, very shady and nice. The endive salad was amazing.
Great brunch! We had the burgers, with excellent home fries, savory crepe (asparagus, goat cheese and egg) with side frisee salad, and for dessert, the delicious chocolate lava cake.
We've previously only had dinner there, which was always excellent. Sat in the backyard until it started raining, then were moved inside. The service is excellent, you can take your time and let them know when you're ready to go.
Would come back or recommend it to other people.
Bacchus is fantastic! The staff were all very friendly and professional and the food was delicious as always. Definitely recommend.
The escargot and mussels were very good. Good ambience. The service can be a tad slow, but to be fair, the restaurant was packed on this Saturday night.
We had a great time here. It was even better that our family name is Bacchus. The food was great, our kids were comfortable and the service was really good too.
I was supposed to eat here. We went in, sat down and left. I was excited about the patio and it was beautiful. Romantic even. The staff was standoffish. The menu was horrible. They write it down on a chalkboard and they do not explain what it is or what is in it. I won’t go again.
Amazing food and wine list at fair prices. What a wonderful surprise.
The backyard is so cute and perfect for brunch. We got an amazing bottle of wine that was suggested to us by one of the staff or maybe the owner. The service was exceptional. We didn’t have to wait for anything! The food is really good here as well. I would deff recommend and will be coming back!
Wonderful place for weekend brunch or dinner. Simple menu that never disappoints!
The food was delicious but the service was lackadaisical. We arrived at 7:30 and got our mains around 9pm and had to ask the waiter several times about every course. The bread basket at $4 was disappointing in quantity and quality, but the rest of the food, when it arrived was really tasty and hot!
Delicious food, excellent service. I highly recommend this Brooklyn gem.
The service was very slow and a bit disorganized.
Seemed that there were not enough experienced staff to handle the number of tables.
However, they were all very nice and did their best.
Everything was terrific!
My spouse of thirty plus years and I found ourselves with an impromptu dinner occasion in an unfamiliar city. The Open Table app directed us to Bacchus a short walk from our hotel. The dining experience was delightful. Highlighted by a charming courtyard and a French Mediterranean “vibe”.
Loud / Noisy.,, the food was good. Maybe another time if we sat in a better location the atmosphere would be nicer.
The backyard is lovely! Feels like you have been transported abroad and the food is delicious.
Beautiful patio, charmingly lit in the evening. Excellent, warm and professional service, with just the right amount of humor. The food was excellent -- much better than the standard "French" fare offered at other so-called "bistros" in NYC. And they didn't rush us out the door, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the experience. Highly recommended.
Good selection of tasty French food, nicely prepared and presented in, where we ate, a pleasant outdoor-ish area. Very amiable waitstaff. We were the first ones there at their 5pm opening, but soon a good-sized crowd had developed. Being on diets, we passed on bread basket and dessert, which probably would have been as wonderful as everything else!
Everything was excellent. Only mild complaint was long wait times, but that’s on us for going on a Friday night. Absolutely love the garden.
Food is always great and the garden seating is socially distanced and very cute.
Food was amazing and service was fast. We were seated immediately and sat outside which was lovely.
The appetizers were delicious. The entrees were incredibly lacking. The desserts were average. Have been here twice now and both times the meat entrees were not seasoned well enough and not tender.
The food here never disappoints and the staff and the service are just right. I’ve been eating at this restaurant for some years now and I’ve never left hungry dissatisfied.
Loved everything about it! Service was spectacular and the food was divine.
The food is delicious, the wine is reasonably priced, the back garden is lovely. It’s a great local spot.
