I love this place!!!!
The tables are truly spaced appropriately for Covid dining. The roof is slatted so it can be closed if it rains. Limited menu that changes weekly but also daily specials.
Bacchus never fails to live up to and exceed all expectations in terms of food, ambiance, and service. Would recommend to everyone.
Bacchus did a great job with the social distancing. Very nice backyard garden and delicious food.
Very pleasant. Bacchus is open on their back patio as well as a few street-side tables. We had a table in the back. Tables were at least 6 feet apart. The menu was written in chalk on a blackboard. Food was their standard menu, which is consistently very good. I felt that they were conscientious about various health precautions so I felt safe and able to enjoy the dinner.
The service was above and beyond excellent and a welcome first date night "out" in months due to COVID. First time eating there, but it won't be our last
Very good service , delicious food .
Great first outdoor restaurant experience after COVID lockdown.
Our waiter was a delight (and he had great style!)
Overall it was pretty good, what could have made it better is if they put fans in back to improve air circulation. It was very hot that night.
The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. I went during phase 2 of outdoor dining in NYC during the pandemic. They have a blocked off outdoor area just in case it rains.
It was a great evening! It started out clear and sunny, but near the start of the meal, the rain suddenly came pouring down, and since we weren't allowed to dine in, we were moved by the owner to a covered outdoor area by way of various steps and rooms where we finished our dinner--with the occasional splash of rain, though by mid-meal the rain had stopped. He then very generously didn't charge us for the meal even though the restaurant could probably have used the money. We kept offering to pay but were turned down by the friendly fantastic waiters, who obviously had their instructions. As I said, it was a great evening! We will, of course, be back--with credit card in eager hands. The waiters were disinfecting tables as we left.
Unimpressed by the food. Pretentious. No bread was offered, which would have been a nice addition. Roasted portobello mushroom salad was an awkward combination of flavors, served at an unpleasant room temperature. Feta cheese didn’t seem to fit in well with it or the balsamic vinaigrette. Flavors clashed rather than complemented each other.
Beef Burgundy dish was small. Large beef chunks had to be cut into segments to be edible, and were not well seasoned. Potatoes and carrots lacked flavor, sauce was somewhat watery. I’ve had Dinty Moore beef stew that was more satisfying.
Red wine, a Rhône type, was good. I can’t remember the name of it and that’s on me for not writing it down. I’m not a wine lover, but this restaurant is geared to them, so I decided to partake.
Creme brûlée was very basic. It was light and fluffy, but was otherwise unremarkable, just like the dishes that preceded it. The bill came to $76, which is ridiculous.
Service was adequate, a little perfunctory, though when I arrived I had to wait several minutes for the table to be prepared despite making a reservation. The area where I waited was near the bar, and it was very hot. I can’t imagine sitting inside there for an hour-long meal when indoor dining comes back.

Excellent service, food, wine, and ambiance at a reasonable price
Such a fun place to meet up before Shea's! Great service, excellent food
We were looking for a place close to BAM. My food was extremely average; edible but not enjoyable. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals better.
The food was amazing, and so was the service. But it was extremely loud in there.
Fine restaurant only serves wine which was disappointing since I was expecting to order a bloody mary. Nonetheless, it is a very good place to go on a date, do dinner or have a glass of wine with a friend.
Lovely brunch for a special occasion. Very pleased with the service and the food. Full house but no noise problems. Already planning return visit.
The restaurant was dark and cold and we were directed to a tight space near a shelving area. The server was not particularly friendly. My wife’s hangar steak was tasty, but my salmon was served over a joltingly cold concoction of quinoa and asparagus. Not a great dining experience!
Excellent great time thanks to Bruno for the visit
And all his team
Found online and made spontaneous reservation, and it was PERFECT. Lovely place, terrific food, and very fairly priced.
Very nice ambiance with an excellent wine selection . We will return for sure!
Casual dining with friendly service. Nice place to eat before a show at Barclays!
It was a solid meal with good service and atmosphere. After sharing 4 dishes however, there's not one dish that stood out that we want to return for. We still enjoyed the meal overall.
Always delicious and welcoming! Our favorite brunch spot in Brooklyn. Try the scallops!
We decided to have French food that evening. Bacchus provided a fine meal. The French Onion Soup had the best flavor of any French Onion Soup I've had and I've ordered it at many restaurants. The shrimp wrapped in bacon was a small portion. It looked like they cut the shrimps in half so we got two shrimp. They tasted fine. My wife got the Duck Magritte which she had never tried before. The taste was fine, but it was a little tough. The cassoulet had generous portions of the meats and beans. But the beans were a little bland. The apple tart for dessert was very good. For the price, the ice cream was a good sized portion. The server helped my wife pick a wine and she enjoyed his pick. Overall, a fine meal and we will go back if we're in that part of Brooklyn again.
Good date night
It was mostly good. We were not made aware of the pre set menu when we made the reservation, and the service was OK. Overall enjoyed my experience and food, would probably come back for the regular menu and a different server.
PreFix menu for Valentine’s Day was terrible, Bottle of Wine tasted flat. overall unhappy with a normally great local French spot.
They have less and less vegetarian options.
I used to rate it five stars but almost everything is either meat or shellfish, neither of which I eat .
But I couldn’t order a salad and there were only two fish dishes on the menu.
If they broaden the menu again it would be much better
My partner and I shared a delicious blood sausage appetizer and individual entrees. The food was quite tasty if not mind-blowing. We also really appreciated the attentive and helpful service, it elevated our dining experience. I would definitely return!
Service and food were top notch. Very pleased. Would return again.
New year’s eve
We went for the New Year’s Eve prefix dinner. The app and entree were ok. Not the best French food I’ve had, but decent. The dessert was the worst I’ve had at a nice restaurant in a while. I’m not sure if it was just an off night for the kitchen, but I’m hoping so. The ambiance and the staff were lovely, so I’m hoping it was a fluke.
We came for New Year Eve's Dinner with my family, I was missing french food, we were well served. The food was excellent, really well-cooked and the waiters were really attentive. The portions were just perfect, I've rediscovered the flavors of my beloved country. I would definitively recommend Bacchus for a lovely night, surrounded by your lover or your family.
New Year’s Eve dinner experience was fantastic ! Cozy atmosphere , beautifully presented courses that tasted out of this world with excellent service.. the three of us ate & drank very well and were not rushed . Glad we made reservations because it did get busy !!
We had to find a Christmas dinner after our plans fell through. Not easy given we have teenagers and a 2 1/2 year old. But we saw the prix fixe menu and that a kid’s menu existed and picked an early evening reservation and crossed our fingers. Everything was great. Food was really good, everyone was happy, the little one ate off everyone else’s plates. Silverware that fell to the floor (a frequent occurrence) quickly got replaced. Staff was really patient when the little one needed to walk around between courses. Everyone made the experience very pleasant. I could see coming back sans kids later in the evening for a romantic night too.
We come every now and then. Happily they are open on Christmas! But any time, we never have a lackluster time or meal at Bacchus. They do what they do very well. A reliable neighborhood restaurant.
Our Christmas table of 11 had a fabulous time. Place was able to accommodate wheel chair bound family member. Attentive service. Food delicious. Great wine choice.
