Bacchanale is a casual Italian restaurant. It follows a philosophy of recreating authentic dishes by sticking to simple, classic flavors and techniques. It opens at 7:00 a.m. every day to serve fresh organic coffee and specialty breakfast items. I love finding small intimate restaurants in my travels...those that the everyday tourists doesn't seek out...this was a great find...wonderful food, service and ambiance, we will go back!!!

My wife and I ate at Bacchanale while visiting from Estes Park, CO. Our meals were delicious! They were served at an appropriate time: no rushing, no long wait. They were hot and well prepared. The wines recommended for each entree were perfect and fairly priced. The waitstaff was great: helpful and friendly. We would definitely return to Bacchanale for another dinner. One suggestion would be to serve butter with the breadsticks, or better yet... bread instead of breadsticks.

In Crested Butte, the Italian restaurants seemed innovative. Choosing the more traditional cafe on Elk Ave was a good decision. Bacchanale had a tempura artichoke appetizer that was fresh, zesty and tasty. The linguini with scallops and shrimp in a vodka arrabiata sauce was very spicy, but excellent for not smothering the seafood. The cellophane-wrapped bread sticks were terrible.

The restaurant was more of a bar on Friday night but not crowded, and many locals were present to suggest it had sustained popularity.

Enjoyable meal.

Based on glowing reviews from friends who had eaten here in the past, I was disappointed. No bread of any kind was offered, while we we waited for our food. They were sold out of a couple of the popular appetizers and the one we did have, prosciutto and melon was simply OK. My wife's canolis were stiff and crispy and had the texture of pasta reheated. My lamb papadalle was was perhaps the best part of the meal, but still was unfortunately not memorable. I heard after we had dined there, that they had changed ownership recently. Based on past reviews, it would seem it doesn't live up to its past.

Just got back from Verbier, Geneva and Lake Como and let me say, the food at Bacchanal was even more impressive, and is now one of my new favorites across the US. Excellent!!

We were in town for the Film Festival so stopped in for dinner. We were immediately seated. Very nicely appointed. The tables in front were a tad too close together. Dinner was delicious but with the meatball dish, it really needed to have a side item along with it. They did run out of tea bags but overall it was a great dinner and would return! :)

Had a top-notch experience over labor day weekend at Bacchanale. Started with prosciutto wrapped melon and then had the lamb pappardelle and the striped bass. Both were excellent, everything was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was knowledgeable and gave three great wine recommendations. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for great food in CB.

I was disappointed in my vegetarian cannelloni. My husbands chicken piccata was good but you can get that anywhere! I would probably just go to The Gourmet Noodle instead.

What's changed? The lovely flatbreads were no longer on the menu, nor the chicken pressed with a brick my husband had been looking forward to. We asked the waitress to split 1 and 1/2'Bacchanale chopped salad between 5, & the kitchen split 1/2 salad between 5, resulting in about 2 tablespoons of salad per plate. How could they have brought that out to us? It was ridiculous. We all laughed, but it was an awkward blip in the evening. Not sure if we will be returning,which is very sad, as this was one of my favorite CB restaurants. There were many apologies about the salad incident, but overall it was just not as good as it had been.

Finally! Competent, friendly service in CB! It's a perfect match to Bacchanale's approachable, delicious, and fresh food. Handcrafted cocktails and a great wine list accompany for an awesome experience in the town of Crested Butte. If you are looking for a fast-paced, chain-style experience with a lot of flair, stay home. This is a chill, delicious, and relaxing place for people who love good food and appreciate knowledgeable service.

Went here for a small birthday dinner recently. The wine list was very good (not long) and featured all Italian wines. I recommend the Chardonnay, which has all the good qualities of a European Chardonnay.
We ended up sharing appetizers and then moving on to a salad and mains. My fiancee had the meatballs and she really enjoyed those. I had the lamb pasta dish which was delicious!
The hostess was wonderful and our server, Catherine, was very sweet and attentive.
I was struck by the lack of ambience in terms of artworks and such. The walls are not decorated and even though dining on the indoor balcony is very fun, a little effort put into creating a more inviting and thoughtful interior might work

The food here is terrific--simple and extremely well executed with the best ingredients. We had delicious eggplant, caprese salad, beef carpaccio and chicken piccata yummy! And the service was excellent. A great experience.

We loved Bacchanale's old menu with the build your own bruschetta and the flatbreads. We really wish that they would reappear! Also, the calamari appetizer is tiny! Overall, we enjoy going to Bacchanale - especially if we can eat outside as the inside main floor tables are a bit crammed. We will be back.

Aside from a mixup with our reservation, the staff was generally good and attentive. Mixed reviews on the food. The calamari appetizer seemed undercooked, limp and lacked anything special. My wife had an excellent soft-shell crab plate that we would order again. I had the striped bass with white kidney beans that sounded excellent on the menu, but lacked any pazzaz and was very disappointing. Great ambiance, but for the price, and the menu descriptions, I expeced more.

Enjoyed entire evening. Loved the Striped Bass. My wife and I both loved the tomato and mozzarella salad. She had a manicotti dish that had tomato sauce drizzled over pasta with cheese and asparagus. Simply delicious. Especially the fresh tomato sauce.

Not much to say = Had reservations at 7:00. We arrived on-time to a half full restaurant and were seated promptly. It was all down hill from there. Needless to say, 1.5 hours after arriving we still did not have our entrees and we left - enough said.

We selected this restaurant as we had a great experience at Django (same owner). Food is great, but portions are small. We waited over an hour for our food (many around us who were seated later got served before us). The food was really meager after a hard day of hiking, but we didn't want to order more and wait yet another hour for it. No bread was served and we had drunk too much wine without food. Small plates need to be served promptly and with the selected wine! Instead of leaving pleasantly satisfied, we went home and ate whatever we could find at our rental.

I had a problem securing a reservation for 1 at 6:30 but was able to get it if I put in for a party of 2. I was willing to sit at the bar and eat and the bartender was very busy but received some help from manager Chris and others just not all the time. Chris recommended the soft shell crabs stuffed with crab meat and they were excellent and tasted very fresh. I'm not a huge chocolate lover but the boutino that they had with sea salt on it was great. Well priced as well

Having eaten at Bacchanale's sister restaurant (D'jangos) the previous night, we had high expectations for our meal at Bacchanale. Unfortunately, the menu and our selections fell short of our experience the previous evening. We ordered the lamb pasta, the chicken picata, and the soft-shelled crabs--none of those dishes was notable in any way. The desserts (chocolate tart, neopolitan ice cream, polenta cake) did not seem to live into the sophisticated dining experience either...portions are small at this restaurant (and we are not big eaters), so order accordingly. The owners have a good thing going with D'jangos--I'm sure they will fine tune this establishment into it's potential after a season or two.

The restaurant is in a nice location and the staff very nice and attentive. We never order an appetizer as it usually proves to be too much but enjoyed the artichoke appetizer. For the entrees, my husband ordered meatballs over heirloom tomato, basil and olive oil and I ordered Chicken Picatta. There was a note that there was no pasta with the meatballs but my husband didn't realize the tomato/basil was a puree and out came 3 meatballs over puree. That was it. My chicken was a very small portion with mashed potatoes and 4 spears of asparagus. The "bread" was packaged breadsticks. We'd hiked 12 miles that day and normally don't eat huge meals but still, we stopped at a grocery store on the way to the hotel to augment our sparse meal.

Tried to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary combination, but apparently the management concentrated their efforts on a large group in the "back room". As a result everybody in our group of 6, as well as the servers suffered because of the lack of efficient timing from the kitchen. We gave up waiting for our order to be delivered to the table after more than an hour wait. We then opted for taking the order out after waiting so long, after sending some of our party home with the young children because it was getting late.
Management and the owner need some re-education in how to run a restaurant, and customer service, because a simple apology is not enough to entice us back for a second chance.

My new favorite Crested Butte "regular" restaurant, after my old favorite turned out to be undependable. The new owners have redone the interior so well, service is unassuming and attentive, and the food is great. Loved the fried artichokes, polenta fries, shrimp and scallop linguine, fresh sea bass, and veggie cannelloni. I always try to make it for dinner here when I come to town. I always feel like the welcome at Bacchanale is so warm and sincere, which is so rare in any resort town where there is a constant stream of tourists.

This isn't the fanciest place in town, and doesn't try to be. But the food is good and the atmosphere is welcoming. The salads are filling (they can be a meal in themselves) and sharing is common so that everybody can try several things.

This was our first time here. Cricket was our hostess and she was great. Made us feel welcome and gave us choices for our table.

We had dinner with our two girls ages 6 and 9 Thursday night. The food was all wonderful, the service very friendly but they lacked follow through. They took our younger daughters silverware and glass
Saying they would bring her things her size then never did. We asked for hot cocoa
For the girls and Never got it. I asked for my remaining pasta which was half
My Dinner to be boxed up some could take it home. It disappeared and I never got it back. So I do
Recommend the restaurant for its wonderful food (try the design your own bruschetta, the wild boar, and the shrimp pasta with hazelnut sundries tomato pesto-all amazing!) you may need to keep on top of the staff to get things done.

We loved this restaurant for the food, the atmosphere and the great people who work there! Delicious and fresh, we were so happy to have been able to enjoy a night here as part of our trip into CB. Most mountain towns are the same burgers and pizza places but CB is one of the best foodie places we have been to and Bacchanale is one of the best we have been to! Loved it!!!

The service was not great at a time when they were not all that busy. They messed up my steak order by not knowing what a "Pittsburgh" style steak means. Having said that the food turned out great. The Brussel sprout salad was delicious and the brick chicken is obviously their specialty. They recovered by cooking my steak properly and all was good. Service was a little slow, but we would go back again.

After a day on the slopes, we were looking forward to the recommendation we received from those who visit Crested Butte annually. We were treated to a contemporary, warm and welcoming restaurant. We shared many dishes including the BYOB (build your own bruschetta), eggplant rounds and a very thin, delicious flatbread. Some well chosen dishes provide variety, yet the menu is modestly sized, something I appreciate in a restaurant. The fish baked in parchment was beautifully presented as well as the various salads we enjoyed. If you're in need of heartier fare, there were pasta and meat dishes from which to choose. Service was attentive, friendly and genuine.

My wife and I were visiting Crested Butte for President's Weekend and in looking for a restaurant for Saturday night, a long time friend and CB local recommended we try the 'new' Bacchanale. Overall, the service as well as our dinners, were very good - my wife and I both commented positively on the upscale menu and new decor... and while we both enjoyed our meals, we felt the portions were somewhat on the small side (though proportionally priced) and the decor, while nicely done, was on the 'cold side', i.e., it could use some warmer colors and interesting artwork on the walls... overall, a good 'redo' of the 'old' Bacchanale but stills needs to define who it is in the local restaurant market. Would we go back? maybe, maybe not...
