Fantastic (again). 10 plates, 10 drinks, 3 desserts. We loved it all.
Service and staff was super accommodating and made our experience too notch. Definitely will be back soon
I noted for birthday cake. I mentioned to them in restaurant and eventually didn’t bring the cake. Terrible service.
phenomenal experience- our server, Bella was incredible
Fantastic staff and great food. Liz and Ren are always so friendly and focused on good customer service. Wish the outdoor tent had all sides open for ventilation. Shallot tarte tartin is not to be missed.
Fun Brunch! Delicious food, great atmospheres, great service!
Delicious food and good drinks. They were very busy, so service wasn’t 100%, but still ok. Out of 6+ dishes we tried, all we very tasty!
Tyler made the evening with his great service!
We are regulars at Bacari. The food was excellent as usual, especially the pork belly, mussels, and lamb kabobs.
Food was great, but wish portions were a bit bigger. I like that they have so much outdoor seating now. All of the staff was very kind and helpful.
With a huge tapas style menu and a very talented kitchen, Bacari PDR always delivers a gastronomic experience. Speedy and friendly service top it all off.
Great little spot, eclectic menu, good vibes, fun atmosphere.
Always great food. There was a VERY big party next to us that was so loud that it was hard for us to carry on a conversation. Not the restaurant's fault, we still enjoyed our meal.
Incredible service and super stellar food! So many great gluten free options and tons of choices overall at great prices!
Always a great experience, from the staff, the location and atmosphere, to the wonderful food and cocktails! So happy to have this wonderful place in our neighborhood! One of our favorite places!!
Overall the place is good. Service was also good, but the staff needs more training with their system or logistics. I'm not sure if this is attributed to re-opening but we had several issues. For example, serving the food incorrectly when someone in the party has an allergy. That took a while to remake and good thing we doubled checked. They did offer compensation for it but checking closely on the bill, looks like it was entered twice in the bill, so net, no compensation given. It seems every time you ask a different server to check on a food item, they automatically enter it again and shows up in your bill. Definitely check your bill for the items.
Just an update, the establishment did reach out and it was nice for them to address the issue. Totally unexpected but this is the kind of things that makes a difference. We will be back for sure.
Music was too loud. Tables and chairs felt rickety outside but overall enjoyed dinner.
Outdoor patio: music too loud. But good experience overall.
I thought the food was quite good: lamb stuffed eggplant was delicious and we loved the lemon garlic emulsion; the pork belly was yummy and rich; the plump scallops with fried capers was my personal favorite; and the malabi (rosewater custard) was light but flavorful. The value is very good for the quality of the food. The drinks were great and unique; we especially liked the brown butter sour and the Oaxaca campfire. The eclectic ambiance with beach air was fantastic. Our server was friendly and made great recommendations but the service overall was a little spotty: it was pretty slow (it took about 30 mins to get our second cocktails and we'd already finished our food by the time they arrived), the order of dishes was odd, and no one acknowledged our special occasion (we were there for my husband's birthday and advised open table, told the host, and told the person who seated us). I chalked the irregularities in service up to pandemic-related blues so would definitely go back.
We love this place. The food and cocktails are always amazing, and the service is outstanding. When Ira noted that we were celebrating an anniversary, he even brought us two complimentary glasses of prosecco. We enjoyed the meal, the service, and the evening. We'll be back for sure!
Very nice and tasty variety of contemporary food, almost small plates, great for sharing multiple selections. Week nights, happy hour drink prices are also very good.
Entrees were outstanding, prices very fair. Was expecting the noise level to be low, but was very loud - even though only a few other tables had patrons. Service was good. Parking in the adjoining streets tricky, as no lot for the restaurant. Should offer a nearby lot for customers (one next door was totally vacant)
Enjoyed the healthy food choices. The bar tender Rodi was amazing. She was friendly and made some amazing cocktails. Service was fast and she delivered drinks to the table even tho she was slammed. Very nice experience. I did the all you can drink special. Pretty nice deal. Rhodi seems to love her job and it showed. I'll be back!
Great service and delicious food! They also have excellent cocktails and the best cake in the world is not to be missed.
Made a reservation for 2 for a girls night out and was impressed from start to finish. The hostesses were friendly and attentive. The outdoor seating area has a beautiful view of PDR and a wonderful ambiance. The cocktails are fun and will definitely provide a bang for your buck Tyler was out waiter and was also kind, attentive and well informed about the menu. The food is decadent and flavorful but also light. Even if everything at this restaurant were terrible, it would be completely worth it for the bacon wrapped medjool dates Since everything was so incredible, my friend and I promptly made a brunch reservation for next weekend. If I could give Bacari 10 stars I would but instead I leave this glowing review and hope that everyone give this local gem a try.
Always really great variety and quality of food. Drinks are excellent and the music choice playing is always spot on as well!
Waiters are always nice and food is tasty and affordable, great ambiance too.
I was here with a friend and it was amazing as always our server was great and will be back for happy hour
Amazing food and service, can’t wait to go back. Each dish we ordered had such amazing flavor. Service was outstanding!
It was nice to come here with friends, the food wasn’t too bad. The only thing is a bit grimmy in the patio seating.
First time going to the restaurant. Food was great. Staff was friendly and attentive, would definitely return again
Excellent service with cool ambiance. Recommend checking it out. Group favorite was the Lamb/Eggplant dish.
One of the food deliverers was very rude at our table.
The food was delicious and very easy to share among the 4 people in our group. We were seated quickly and our food initially came fairly quickly after ordering, but as they got busier we had to wait much longer for the rest of our dishes to arrive (they brought them out one at a time). One of our dishes was forgotten entirely, and the manager came out to apologize and tell us it was on the house which was nice. However, we were forgotten once again after that last dish when we needed the bill so we finally flagged down a different waitress who brought it to us. As we were in a rush, we quickly paid and left but then discovered later that they had left that dish on the bill that they had told us they were removing. While it wasn’t super expensive, it was still slightly annoying that a big deal was made of the fact that they forgot us and then they went and forgot us again right afterward. So just be aware that you might have to constantly flag people down to get anything you need.
We booked in advance and confirmed that we will have table 92.
We pitched up on time and we were told 92 and the similar tables were all in use. Of course I complained. There seemed to be glitch in the communcation.
But the new manager Matt Gordon stepped in and expedited by giving us a temporary table nearby and quickly transferring us to table 92 when the other gests were done.
And Trevor did an excellent job with the food and drink service.
Except for the glitch with the booking, which I consider very important, since it could have caused us to leave, everything was just right.
Bacari PDR or the win! It’s always been a great place with amazing food, wine and beer list… the expanded outdoor dining is an added benefit! I hope they keep it forever!
Had I known how preposterously noisy and dingy and mediocre Bacari would be, we would not have bothered dealing with the traffic and madness of Playa Del Rey.
Look, our server was awesome. When we asked to be seated in a quiet indoor location, we were given a table inside a black dining room with a sticky table….next to an older toddler in the middle of a screaming tantrum that didn’t let up for the next 30 minutes. Our server was kind enough to move us, and absolutely on top of our food; she was the best thing about the experience.
Once moved, our ears were continuously assaulted by HD riders doing the seaside ride, but that’s not their fault; just a warning. Add to that food that was mediocre: a too-salty and oily shallot tarte, the world’s most boring mussels, lamb kebabs with way too little accompaniment for how dry they were, flavorless shawarma tacos, but some really good pork belly.
Bottom line: for $130, we were wholly unimpressed…and nearly run over trying to get back to our car thanks to a dangerous corner.
We won’t bother again.
Delicious, tapa-style brunch options. Order everything on the menu and share it :)
Our food took an hour to be served. It arrived all cold. Half the dishes arrived along with dessert. Terrible experience.
