Bacari Grill Ratings and Reviews
Always an enjoyable meal at Bacari. As an added treat they also serve very tasty Japanese rolls and sushi. Service always good and you can hear yourself and other members of your party speak! Tables are well positioned to give you maximum privacy. Look forward to returning again and again.
We had a 5:00 reservation, which was great, because it was quiet and the staff was very attentive. I chose the trout special with wild rice and a delicious cabbage. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. My husband had the crab cakes and meatballs which he enjoyed. We shared a delicious caesar's salad. I thought it was a bit pricey, but everything was delicious.
Let me start off saying that the food is delicious. For appetizers we ended up having the Burrata, maki rolls and Brie cheese. Away everything go serve just made it look even more appetizing. For the main course we ended up getting scallops which melted the moment we took a bite out off it! That’s where we ended up having to Apple crumb cake which was also very good. The service was also phenomenal! Our server Jason made sure he took care of us and made sure we enjoyed the meal. This is the place that we will be coming back to and will make sure to request Jason to be our server as well even though everyone from the staff that came by was very pleasant!
The halibut cheeks, which was a special and not inexpensive was disappointing. It arrived with a nice presentation but was overcooked and dry with little flavor. I suggested this location and was sorry that it wasn't a more favorable experience for my friend who hadn't been there before. Her bay scallops and spaghetti was mediocre and she brought most of it home for her husband. Not because of a oversized portion, that was not the case but because the dish was disappointing in taste.
We had a late lunch and were probably in between there lunc/ dinner but they sat us and the service was excellent .. lunch menu and price were excellent.
Although we are not far we forget to include Bacari Grill on our list of " go to " restaurants in our area but this experience has changed that for sure !! We will be back.
I had not been to the Bacardi Grill in years so we decided to give it a try. Like most of us, it has aged, but unlike most of us, it has not aged well. It was very tired and worn inside with the most disgusting, dirtiest ceiling I have ever seen. That really skeeved me out but that was only the start. My daughter, a teenager, and I, in a half empty restaurant, were shown to the worst table in the restaurant, all the way in a little alcove by itself on top of the emergency exit door. I politely asked for another table and we were shown to a tiny 2 top next to a dirty, food encrusted wall. We should have gotten up and walked out right then and there but we stayed and ordered dinner. I wish I could say things got better but they didn't. We started with an order of fried calamari that was billed as spicy, tossed in a garlic butter with banana peppers. The calamari was fairly bland and not crispy at all. It had some sliced peppers thrown on it but I did not taste the garlic butter. For an entree, my daughter ordered the pasta Bolognese. When I asked her how it was, she made a face and I asked her how it compared to her favorite, the Bolognese from BV Tuscany in Teaneck and she said, 'not even close.' Needless to say she left most of it. I ordered a special of trout on a bed of spinach and wild rice with apples and walnuts. I really wanted to like the dish because the flavors really worked but the trout was so overcooked it was like eating sawdust. I left about a half of it because there wasn't enough water on the table to get it down. Of course after that, we were not sticking around for dessert nor will we be returning. I can't understand the decent reviews that this restaurant gets. Are people so used to mediocracy that they don't know or appreciate lousy, overpriced food in a worn, dirty setting?
Food is consistently good. This time those in our group of four were happy with the Sonoma chicken salad sandwich, the hot and crispy sweet potato fries, the naked burger, a special salad, and excellent cappuccino. On a previous occasion, the restaurant was about half full and having a conversation was easy. This time, however, the full restaurant resulted in a high noise level that made casual conversation difficult. Service was average at best, and we had to ask for our bill and then had trouble finding our waiter to pay it. I'll return because of the great food, but will hope for a quieter experience and a more attentive waiter.
I had the Ivory King Salmon which was fresh but lacked in taste; however, the chorizo potatoes were delish! Wish there was more of them on my plate. Asked for Rosé but they were out of it, bummer. Also loved the Bacari sundae. Yum! Def recommend getting that dessert!
Very nice place. Good hamburger. Service was actually a bit too attentive in some ways, not enough in others. For example, I asked for a Grey Goose on the rocks with three olives. I received a Grey Goode on the rocks with a piece of lime? On the other hand, the wait staff hovered around constantly-- asking for our order, when our drinks had just been served, and then we ordered, our food arrived in literally five minutes. And it wasn't something like cereal which you could understand if it was made in two minutes.!!! But these service issues aside, the place was lovely and I had a great get together with an old friend. I would definitely go back.
Took my children ages 14 and 12 for their moving up ceremonies. Everything was delish! Recommend the fried calamari and the burrata cheese appetizer
Had the blackened swordfish special and it was flavorful and cooked perfectly
Our waiter was also super nice and helpful.
Thanks Bacari Grille for making our special night even more special !
We always love this restaurant and went for our anniversary. Everything was delicious as usual except for my filet mignon. The first came out overdone so they were king enough to make a new one for me that arrived after everyone else had finished their meal (also fine) but the replacement was awful - no char, soggy and grossly over-peppered. They did not charge me for it but it took away from the evening celebrating our anniversary. Our waitress was wonderful though....I'll be back but will stay away from beef.
I had a good experience at this restaurant so I invited my niece from UK to celebrate her birthday. I had informed the host when they called to confirm the reservation. The waiter was not very interested in serving us. He stopped at our table only 3-4 times while I saw him hover around other tables many times. There was no acknowledgement that this was a celebration. Bacari is good place and I wouldn't discount it for one unsatisfactory experience. But maybe a little more attention to how wait staff is treating customers is needed.
We were a group of ladies who had not seen each other in awhile and John B was most helpful and patient in helping us select from the menu. We were happy to see the great offerings at lunch. Each one of us selected something different from the menu. We were all happy with our choices. John was very attentive throughout our entire stay, thank you!
I don't understand the stellar reviews of this place. I was excited to try it and was very disappointed. The food was mediocre, the service was rushed and they even turned the lights up all the way around 10PM showing us we were taking too long! For the expense of their food, I would not recommend this restaurant or return.
The place does a brisk business. Lunch and dinner will see a lot of folks eating here.
I've been here a number of times and the food is OK. It's just nothing special. If they upped the menu with a better chef it could be a great find. As it is now, not so much.
It's not horrible by any means. Just nothing special to note.
The service is generally a problem which brings it down a notch.
Anthony & accessory servers were excellent.
The steak & side dish were heavily salted. Average dish.
Rack of lamb was in the upper taste bracket !
The bar staff makes a superb martini but at New York City
prices. Restaurant located in one of many small towns of North Jersey.
