Bacari Grill Ratings and Reviews
My wife, a friend and I went here for dinner the other night, we've all been here before and have enjoyed dinners here in the past. This evening was no exception as we arrived early and the restaurant filled quickly for a Thursday night. The service was great and the food was good, my wife was a pinch disappointed in her food as the meat was a bit over cooked. That aside, we will be back again, the service is great and the staff is always helpful and polite. a really great neighborhood eatery!
Besides continuing to be a personal favorite, for years, Bacari Grill was the only place my co-workers and I went to for special occasion lunches, and now that we've all retired, we still make it a point to have an annual dinner reunion there once a year when everyone is in town.
We always enjoy creating our own antipasto from the great selection, and for main courses, this time around the highlights included chicken Milanese, pecan crusted chicken, brined pork chop with apple jack brandy sauce, salmon and scallops - all delicious.
In addition, my daughter's wedding shower was held there in the lovely private room upstairs. The staff was terrific and so attentive to every detail of the planning. Our guests had a wonderful time and raved about the ambiance, the great food and the friendly service.
Our family also likes to have Christmas Eve dinner there, but don't wait too long to make a reservation. It books up fast!
Bacari 's main dining room has large windows overlooking trees and lends itself to a lovely summer's evening for dining. We found service to be attentive, although it was early and the room was not yet full. I had the rack of lamb which was delicious as was the campanelle bolognese. The bacari salad was excellent. We'll return.
This place is usually packed for lunch and dinner. The food is good, not great and the space could use an over haul.
But how can you argue with the regulars who don't seem to mind one bit?
I had the penne with chicken and it was good with one caveat -- the chicken was breaded and fired. This made me wonder if the chick is left over from other diners! Maybe that's me, but I've never had penne and chicken where the chicken was breaded and fried before being added to the pasta!
We have been here before and it is our special celebration place. Everything was really good, drinks food service. My only complaint is that there was a kid with his mother and maybe grandmother and the kid was playing a game or something on his phone. It was really loud and they were right next to us. Kind of annoying and no one said anything. That should not be allowed. We ere there for a relaxing dinner and that noise kind of ruined it.
Three of us had an excellent lunch, enjoyed by even the pickiest of our companions. The fixed price menu choices were delicious although it would have been nice if the price had been listed rather than having to ask our server. The salads, soup and entrees were delicious as was a sandwich ordered by one of us. Our server seemed annoyed at a couple of our questions. Other than that, the food and the ambiance were terrific and we cannot wait to return.
I have been to Bacari many times for dinner, but this was my first time going for lunch. The lunch menu was extensive and very reasonably priced. The lobster cocktail was DELICIOUS - perfectly seasoned and contained and abundant amount of seafood. Despite the fact that we lingered after our meal, our server never made us feel rushed and allowed us to just sit and chat.
The food here is always fresh and delicious. There are many healthy choices and Their power lunch is great! Service is always great and everyone is friendly and helpful. Hosting my daughters shower here next weekend and i have no doubt everything will be wonderful and all our guests will be delighted. Hats off to Bacari. We will come here whenever we are in town. Thanks for all you do to make it such a great place to come to and dine and relax!
The Barcari Grill has been around a long time and really needs an interior overhaul. It's a bit dingy. That said, it always seems to pull in a crowd of aging retirees.
The food can be hit or miss. They added a sushi bar complete with sushi chef which is weird in that it's an Italian restaurant.
The food won't make a major impression on you and that's too bad. This is such an interesting place and considering how it fills up, it could really be a great restaurant in the right hands.
Instead it's basically and OK neighborhood place.
Made a reservation for 9:30, which was available. Traveling and knew I needed the late spot. I called to make sure it wasn't a problem. They said it was fine. As soon as I was seated the waitress came straight over to make sure I knew the kitchen was closing but "don't rush". The meal was bad. The bus boys were clearing plates while we had our forks in our mouths. Needless to say, they shouldn't say it's not a problem and have reservation times available when they clearly do not want you to come in. Will not return tot his restaurant at any time. Unimpressed all the way around.
We have been dining at Barcari Grill for several years now, sometimes twice a week. The service is excellent, and we have never had a bad meal. The menu changes a bit from time to time, which is nice, and there are always interesting specials. Very nice wine selection as well. The restaurant is always full, even during the week, and on the weekend we try to get there early to get a table. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Bacari Grill was home of the birthday dinner with the family. It was the anniversary gathering for a good time with fine food and friends. On a Monday night, the bar was full, and two tables occupied. I suspect we were all going to a local book signing or the luscious room would have been empty.
A lackluster menu, aggressive prices for (previously frozen)Shrimp Scampi ($32.) or a way beyond the al dente stage linguini with a scattering of (previously frozen) seafood ($26.) was simply a mockery to fine dining. The smart folks were part of the pick-up scene at the active bar.
Bacari Grill is a reliable and formidable restaurant that is great for any occasion. The varied menu and selections will appeal to everyone and the food is tastefully prepared and presented by friendly and efficient staff. I would highly recommend this establishment for a casual or more formal meal. You will not be disappointed.
Had lunch at Bacari's with a group of former colleagues earlier this week. I'm vegetarian they aren't, we all found items on the menu to our liking. The food was plentiful, the presentation excellent, and most importantly the taste was delish. We'll be back!
Bacari Grill is a reliable dining venue for both lunch and dinner. The food is consistently fresh and tasty. Good plate presentation. Bacari Grill has become a nice "power lunch" setting for business people as well as "ladies lunches". The servers are very attentive and eager to please. You will not be disappointed by this establishment. It has been in business a long time so that proves something. Will return.
We have always had great experiences at Bacari. So, when we planned our anniversary dinner there recently, we had reasonable high expectations. The food delivered on those expectations; the service was spotty compared to previous visits.
We tried to book a table for two at 7:30 through Open Table. It showed openings only at 6 or 9. We opted for 6 (earlier than we would like for a special occasion). When we got there at 5:55, maybe a third of the tables were occupied. When we left around 7:30, it was only about 3/4 full. Why so few options through Open Table? The next day we got curt emails asking why we didn't honor our reservation. Huh?
Also, our server left out several specials we overheard another server offer the table next to ours.
UPDATE: For the second time in as many tries, I went to make a reservation at Bacari Grill through OpenTable only to find that there were no tables available within 2 1/2 hours of my requested time. Since that was at 6:30 on a Thursday night in July I found that hard to believe. This time I called the restaurant directly, requested that same time, and was told "No problem. We'll look forward to seeing you then." I don't know what the problem with OpenTable is, but if you find the time you want isn't available, you should try calling the restaurant directly.
My friends and I were looking for a nice restaurant at which to gather for a ladies' lunch that would allow us to spend a lot of time together, as well as enjoy a quality meal. Bacari Grill was spot on in both these categories. Our server was very gracious, never rushed us, seeming to know we were enjoying our time together. We tried a platter of antipasto items to start, which was fabulous. So much to choose from, everything tasted fresh and flavorful. A couple of us got the Power Lunch special- a great deal for the price. All in all, an excellent dining experience for all who attended. Thanks Bacari Grill!
We have gone to Bacari about half a dozen times with friends and it's always a pleasant experience. the tables are large and spaced well, the service is prompt and the food good, not great, but when you're in the middle of a good conversation, you don't necessarily concentrate on the food. The prices are fair and the inside and outside of the restaurant are both pleasant to look at. It's definitely a repeat experience.
