Absolutely love this place. Would eat here every night. They pay great attention detail! Try the chicken and beef shawarma they are excellent!! Great service, great food, fun environment!
Great place to hang with friends and a bottle of wine. Entrees never disappoint, and the staff is friendly though a bit unpolished.
Really liked the intimacy of the restaurant - it is not very big. Service was on spot (Arturo was our server).Plates are good for sharing. Cocktails were good. Bonus was the performance of the belly dancer.
Bilal was by for one of the best servers I have ever had. His attention and service were above and beyond. Thanks so much!
The restaurant has a warm ambience with a unique decor. It was fairly quiet, so we could talk easily. We really enjoyed the hummus and the cigar appetizer with chicken and goat cheese. I am not a big fan of hummus, but theirs is amazing. The appetizers were delicious with a couple of cocktails from the bar. For our main entree, we selected the lamb chops, but they were a disappointment. We ordered the lamb medium, but on the rare side. However, it was a bit tough. The sauce and the rice were delicious. I would definitely go back to try more items from their menu.
We had the worst service. I am Lebanese and had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for awhile. Never going back! We are not high maintenance whatsoever, just two friends catching up. We got there at 6:30, ordered wine and asked about the happy hour appetizers. Our server was vague and unhelpful on the selection but we both ordered wine and an appetizer.
We were catching up so much we hadn't looked at the menu when he came over for our order. We asked for a few minutes so look. He came over after one and we smiled graciously and apologized and asked for just one more minute but we promised to look this time.
He never came back! Within the minute after our promise we knew what entree we wanted. My friend had finished her wine and he swept in and took her wine glass and continued walking before we could never say anything. We would've ordered 2 glasses each and reasonable entrees. We weren't being cheap. We kept looking over at him and he never came. It's 7:40 by this point and I had to ask another server for our check.
We get the check and the appetizers we had ordered on happy hour were full price. We asked for the change in the bill. The prices were honored eventually and we walked out. Thankfully there are many other restaurants in walking distance so we went and had our much awaited dinner somewhere else. Very disappointed.
The dining experience at Baboush is always good (they make the best babaganoush anywhere!). We had a great dinner with attentive and friendly servers, good wine (including Moroccan wine) and a delicious dinner. The decor is Moroccan and pleasurable.
I have been wanting to eat a Baboush since visiting Souk in Trinity Groves. I ordered the hummus with pitas because it was one of the few vegan dishes they offered. A great small dinner for only $5. My friends and I had our two dogs, and decided to try out the patio after leaving Mutts Canine Cantina down the street. They even had a leash holder next to an open table and I really appreciated that. Overall a great experience. Will definitely be back.
I was underwhelmed. There were no customers when we got there. The Lamb kebobs were dry. The Moroccan tea and shwarmas were good but the entrees left more to be desired. Overall mediocre experience.
We had a great time at baboush and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
While the service was friendly and very attentive the food was not great at all. My chicken tagine was very bland and I suspect the accompanying potatoes and sauce were of the instant variety. The cocktails were tasty and creative, but the food was certainly overpriced for what it was. As far as ambiance it was non-existent. The website touted a colorful and vibrant experience, but the interior was bland and uninspired. I would go back for drinks and to hang out with some friends, but not dine - certainly not for a special occasion.
We have been to Babiush twice. Some of the food is familiar Mediterranean but there are some surprises as well.
We had a great meal at Baboush. The appetizers were delicious, and each of us enjoyed our main course. Our server was not really engaged... overall, a good experience.
Excellent food, warm, flavorful pita, nice ambiance & great meal & attentive service.
This is one of our favorites and it never disappoints. Great middle eastern food friendly service and ambience that allows you to have a conversation.
Fabulous food. Everything was delicious. We highly recommend this establishment.
Love this place! It's great to get together and relax with friends and family. Hookah, belly dance, great food & drinks. Can't wait to go again.
I love coming here! Every time I bring new friends and they always rave about how good the food is.
Waiter had the personality of a fly. Joseph I believe.
Truly impressive. Love the ambience and the staff was highly attentive
Fabulous food and service. Get there early or reservations. Miss the belly dancer.
We will be back with friends.
Great Food & Ambience.
The host was rude and seemed to have no idea how to talk with customers or manage the flow of table turnover, and the food pretty seriously uneven--some dishes were good, some only okay, one almost inedibly salty. It's a pretty room, though seating ranges from comfortable to comically cramped. We used to like it. There's no reason to go back.
We have been at this restaurant several times and always have a great meal. I would definitely will be back again. Thank you all very much.
This was the best Lebanese food I've ever had. Everything was delicious!
The food was really great. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is fantastic - can't wait to go back and try more. Highly recommend this place.
Easily one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've ever been to! Must have the Fez chicken.
Amazing! After living in the Middle East for a number of years, baboush took me back. Food was incredible. Staff impeccable. Thank you! We will be back
Friendly, warm and inviting with great food, music and entertainment. Awesome tea.
Food was amazing, ordered the appetizer platter and the beef and chicken kabobs. Everything cooked perfectly, and the cocktails were on point
Cozy little Lebanese restaurant with flavorful food and a nice atmosphere for date night.
It was our first time at Baboush and we dine out a lot in and around Dallas. We are always trying to find a neighborhood gem, a place out of the ordinary that really is authentic and unique and Baboush fit the bill to a tee. I must say this was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had in a long time. The food was delicious, and our server was friendly, informative, and efficient. Both the manager at the beginning of our meal and the owner towards the end of our meal came up and asked how we were doing. This proprietor is truly someone who cares about his business and the experience of his clientele. I started with the arugula salad with the dates and goat cheese which was a marvelous combination of sweet and bitter flavors. My husband ordered the cigar appetizer- which was spinach and goat cheese rolled in a crisp phyllo dough that was out of this world. For my entree, I ordered the (Lamb Tangine) recommended by our server as a truly unique dish. It was a delectable combination of tender lamb cubes, sweet potato and Turkish spices. My husband ordered a chicken dish served over hummus which was also very tasty. I can't say enough about how wonderful our evening was. We will surely be back with friends to enjoy this new and delightful find.
The manager Waited 45 minutes to be seated for our reservation.
This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. Eat here twice a year when I am in town for a business trip. My favorites are the dolmas and filet kebobs.
The best meal I have ever had. Incredibly prepared and full of flavor. Impeccable service.
We decided to celebrate NYE at Baboush after attending a Dallas Bach Society performance at the Church of Incarnation. We hadn't been in a while so we're pleasantly surprised by the new (to us at least) menu and cocktails menu. The music transported us to far away lands, and the food took on a delightful trip involving all of our senses: cardamom, honey, cinnamon, ginger, paprika, etc. Infused in our hummus, babaganoush, beef kebabs and duck confit. We'll continue to go back over and over. Thanks, Yaser for treating Dallas to such spectacularly exotic delicacies.
Our waitress, Cinthia, was very knowledgeable. She was able to answer all our questions and make recommendations. Very attentive. The food was great all around. We sat outside, but the interior was really nice and festive. We will return soon.
We came for a birthday dinner. From the time we got there until we left, the staff made us feel welcomed. The food, drinks, entertainment, and atmosphere is great!!! Had so much fun!
I had dined at Baboush previously as part of a food tour (shout out to Jason our tour leader who was awesome!), and loved the food and atmosphere. My wife is a vegetarian, so finding good restaurants that cater to diverse dining needs is always on my mind. She had never had Moroccan food before, and was unsure, but after the sampler platter appetizer and her falafel, she was hooked. The staff are great, and the manager (owner?) came out to visit with us after our meal to make sure every one of our needs had been met. This is the kind of service one doesn't see much anymore, and really ended our trip to uptown on a high note.
The duck confit was excellent. By far the best duck dish I have had. Great blend of flavors. I would highly recommend this dish.
The "Chicken Teffaya Tagine" was moist, but was not something I would order again.
