About Babette's Cafe
Our deck tables are not available online and can make for a lovely evening throughout the year.
Dining at Babette’s Café is like stepping into Chef/Owner Marla Adams’ home. She is equally as known for the incredibly creative Rustic French, Spanish and Italian cuisine that she creates, as she is for her welcoming personality. Marla has turned her apron over to Chef Justin Kurtz who has taken the reigns in the kitchen. Together they dig deep into the food history and traditions of Europe and bring them to Atlanta with nuance, respect and artistry.
For twenty-four years, Babette’s Café has offered the flavor of a restaurant that is tucked into the French countryside. The dining room offers a relaxed setting and the outdoor patio, which overlooks the serene setting of Freedom Park, makes diners forget that they are just minutes away from downtown Atlanta.

Babette's Cafe Ratings and Reviews
The kind of restaurant you wish was in your home so you could ask for seconds!!! A welcoming greeting that started with the valet, then the host and waiter. Service was prompt but not overbearing, mene selection was, food great and quality portions outstanding. Nothing bad to say about this venue.....highly recommended!!!
Babettes is one of our go to spots for great food and service, alway reliable (never had a
marginal meal here) This occasion was my wife's birthday and she loved it.
My only suggestions would be:
Change out - add menu items / specials more often
Include more affordable wine selections (food presents great value...wine options not so much)
Cozy French brasserie with a low din, packed on a cold January night. Feels like an authentic neighborhood gem, very different from the celeb-chef, restaurant-group-driven establishments that dominate Atlanta. Food and drink were great, service was impeccable.
My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Babette's on New Years Eve. It was fantastic.
The valet is quick and efficient, which is necessary because of the short driveway attached to Babette's.
The food is amazing. My husband is French and he says that the french onion soup and duck is the best he has had in Atlanta. We had a variety of things and every single thing was delicious, including the complimentary baguette. We thoroughly enjoyed the french onion soup, cheese plate, piroshki, duck, filet mignon, creme brulee, and chocolate bread pudding with cappuccinos.
Our server was also perfect. She knew when to interject without interrupting our conversation or seeming intrusive. She took care of us throughout the meal and was absolutely stellar.
Babette's is our new favorite place!
We were among the first to be seated for New Year's dinner, and maybe that was part of the problem. Or maybe they had substitute staff. That might explain, but not excuse, the inattentiveness to what was coming out of the kitchen: the romaine and arugula salad that, while good enough, had no arugula; the two tiny sides for my husband's delicious veal, squeezed onto a bread plate; the pasta side that had nothing on it but pasta - no butter, no oil, no parm, nothing; and my filet, which was ordered medium but arrived rare - twice. Neither was the atmosphere provided by the waitstaff warm and friendly. Our waiter, who informed us he had been working there for 12 years, had a slight edge on. He offered no help in the ordering phase, either with food or wine, but was mercilessly efficient, having us fed and out the door after three courses in only one hour, even though my steak did not arrive the second time until after my husband had finished his veal. They were fully booked for the rest of the evening, and I hope the later arrivals had a better experience.
First time at Babette's and dinner lived up to our high expectations based on reviews - great food, excellent service and wonderful ambience. We appreciated that the tables are spaced far enough apart to allow for private conversations and the service is very attentive without being obtrusive. We will be back!
