What Insiders Are Saying
Kentish Town is short on good Asian options for dinner. Restaurant Baan Thai is a godsend then, and will fix you for noodles and comforting soups.
The curries were fantastic. As a vegetarian, I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. Will definitely return!
Small restaurant. Food was ok. Good value. Service was fine.
Not my first visit to Baan Thai and won't be my last. Very good, very reasonably priced food. Bill was about £85 for 4 people with quite a few beers. Staff are friendly. Only downside is the restaurant has a bit of a corridor feel to it and you are hit by a bitingly cold wind every time one of the many Deliveroo drivers makes there way in or out.
Quick, easy, local and convinent. Thank you
A small cosy restaurant very close to O2forum. The food was just great, fresh, crispy and delicious, and served quickly. Would highly recommend!
For a Friday night the restaurant was quite, but lots of drivers picking up take aways. That said the food was very good.
good basic Thai food - very basic ambience nothing fancy
Stopped here a couple of days ago ahead of a concert at the O2 kentish town (which was just over the road). Just the job - fast service, great food and wide choice and very good value for money. Would definitely return if in the area again.
Lovely food, great Mussaman curry and very friendly service. Bit put off by the constant stream of Deliveroo riders coming in but guess that is sign of the times...
We had a lovely dinner here last night. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was really good. We had vegetable spring rolls and chicken gyoza to start - they weren't greasy and the flavours were great. I had pork and vegetables, my boyfriend had jungle curry which he said had a good kick to it. My dinner was really yummy, pork was tender and there was a good range of vegetables which were nice and crunchy. All came into about £30 - so really good value for money and spitting distance from the Forum.
Always a pleasure, easy local place for quick good food
loved this place, food was delicious and served quickly
The menu here is pretty extensive and the food tasty, well prepared and served efficiently. Whilst this wouldn't suit a special occasion, it's the perfect spot to grab some good food with friends especially if you are attending a gig at The Kentish Town Forum which is a couple of minutes walk away.
Been a few times before & thought to bring my parents there as we wanted some quick and casual. The prawn soup noodle is a fave whenever I go Malaysia & having it in Barn Thai made me have those good memories 😊
Great Thai restaurant
This place is looks very much like very much like a cafe but the flavours are very genuinely Thai with a very homemade feel.
The prices are very cheap but the service is a bit slow.
Great spot for a pre Forum bite
The staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive, the food came quickly and was extremely tasty. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Got here for 7.00 with the band playing at 9.15. As authentic as you're going to get for a speedy service thai restaurant. Cheap, delicious and great service.
The food was average, a bit greasy and the Phad Thai was not good at all unfortunately. I'd hoped for an intimate dining experience but it was canteen style - very bright with benches. The staff were nice and friendly though
Fantastic varied menu, with lots of interesting options for both veggie and meat/fish eaters. Refreshing to have a restaurant that sells a nice wine at only £11 per bottle, so means you can treat yourself to a tasty meal out without breaking the budget. Lovely tasty food and friendly staff. Décor is simple but perfectly pleasant.
Would definitely go back for another pre-gig meal.
This was the second time at Baan Thai but did not find the food as good this time. It is still a good venue prior to a concert at HMV Forum with decent food and very quick service but ultimately have had better Thai food.
Small restaurant bu very nice staff and food was delicious. Would recommend to anyone!
The best thai food we have found in London. Not a fancy place, but value is very good. Also do good take-away. The soups are excellent, including the (non-Thai) vegetable soup.
This is one of those typical restaurants where food takes the center stage. If you are looking for nice decorations to go with the food, this isn't the place for you but if you are a foodie whose focus is on the food, please do try this place. I would highly recommend as very authentic Thai food (I think but I have never been to Thailand).
Having sat down and been given menus we then had difficulty in attracting the staffs attention. I think we were competing with a number of take away calls coming in. Then we ordered food and drinks, the food arrived but no drinks. This was quickly rectified and the waitresses were very apologetic. So the all important food, great and very good value, take care with the 2 chilli sign this means pretty hot. The house white wine was surprisingly gluggable and there were also Thai beers on offer. All in all very god value, great food and charming if a little erratic service.
I will recommend and I will return.
Casual canteen style tables, bright decor and a slightly overabundant aroma of fish oil, the atmosphere is friendly and unassuming. What I really appreciated about the place was the authentic taste of the food (a joy after numerous disapppointing trials after spending 3 months in Thailand last year,) especially the tom yum soup nd pad thai, and variety of the menu. I was also very excited to eat roti canai - a lesser known gem of a dish from malaysia, and a hit amongst my friends!
We all loved it! Everyone of us compared it to the food we'd all eaten in Thailand, and agreed it was as good! It's a very casual place, but the service & the food is great!
