B Too Ratings and Reviews
Food was very good, but service was lacking. We were a group of six for brunch and had a centrally located table. However it took a very long time for our order to be taken. And when we specifically asked to have side orders of fries and bacon come out first, our server said she would put in the order altogether and did not consider our request. Ultimately the side orders came out after our main dishes.
The service was horrible. Heard the server complain about us under her breath. I ordered a drink and it didn't come out until after my meal and had to remind her a few times. They forgot someone's meal at our table and had to remake it. They forgot someone else's drink that never came, but still got charged for it. Other people at my table who ordered the same drink received the drink in a small glass and one very large glass, but charged the same price. I had a mimosa served in a glass with another restaurants name on it from a New Years Eve party (very strange). Food was not great either. Overall, not a good experience, would not go back.
Food is quite good. The place was packed. Ventilation is wanting. They were frying food in the kitchen and the billows of frying smoke were overwhelming the exhaust fan, so much so that the smoke spilled onto the dining area - you could see from where we were sitting. The stench in our clothing, when we came home, was undeniable. For how expensive this place is, it is not too much to expect not to smell like a fry cooker when we come home.
B Too is a great spot for get-togethers and brunch. An expansive beer and wide list, as well as authentic Belgian cuisine is fantastic. And they are quite creative with their belgian waffle creations. A bit pricey, but the ambiance and service make it worth it.
Went for brunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday - the food and drinks were enjoyable but we ordered something that came out with weird timing, our waitress was very sub par- one of us had a good allergy and she said “this is probably not the place for you” without giving options or possible substitute. First time I️ had ever experienced that.
The B's tables are jam packed: uncomfortably close to the neighboring table. The waiter bumped in to your chair or you yo get to serve the other table.
The food was OK...overdone vegetables on the hangar steak dish. No condiments until we asked for mustard.
Over-the-top- pricing - $75 for a glass of wine, entree and dessert.
One if my favorite restaurants in the Logan Circle area on 14th Street. Great happy hour that includes half prices glasses of eine, drafts, specialty drinks and selected appetizers. So many great appetizers that I've previously tried so today I enjoyed the Boudin Blanc Sausage with granny smith apples. It's Tuesday, so I have to order their Brussels Mussels with half lobster and bisque and only $16.95 on Tuesdays only (regularly $27). Always fantastic and they provide a spoon to enjoy the bisque after enjoying all the mussel. Service is top notch! Definite worth visiting while in DC!
Fun place, especially for brunch (Belgian waffles!). The bellini wasn't exceptional (they have a different take on it, it's not like they made it wrong or anything, it just wasn't quite to my taste), but the bloody mary and mimosas were tasty. I had the pulled pork waffles with avocado, and they were truly exceptional; definitely the best meal I had all week. The chicken and waffles were also tasty, and my MIL seemed to really enjoy her pear dish and cappuccino.
Brunch was great, the food was really good. Our server less so. He forgot my bacon, rushed my friend through dessert by picking up the plate before he was done, hard to get refills on beverages. This is the second time I've been here. I'd definitely come back, just might not want that server again.
The good food is marred by the poor service. Our food came out about 20 minutes apart. I almost finished my food before my date because if I waited it would be too long. Our server poured his beer so poorly that all he had was head. There is no space for poor service anymore in DC. There are other restaurants that can get it right...
B Too is a terrible choice if you are allergic to Gluten. They have Gluten Free waffles on the menu but they are just a tease as they have cross contamination. Almost nothing on the menu is really Gluten Free. What’s the point of marking Gluten Free on a menu if there is only one choice. Last time they didn’t tell me about the cross contamination so at least they are making progress. If you have a Gluten allergy or are Celiac, best to stay away from B Too.
Why does this force to pick what I would recommend this for, when I just said I would not recommend??? Have really enjoyed this place many times in the past. However, Friday night the service was overbearing. Nearly a dozen visits to the table before ordering, in maybe fifteen minutes. Food was mediocre, though the chicken dish was very good. Not that I won’t ever go back, but not your best evening, B Too
B Too is both a place for traditional Belgian fare as well as some very creative cuisine! You can have both comfort food and excitement for the palate in the same place! If you go on Tuesday, the mussels and frites are offered at a special price! Be sure to try the mussels with lobster tail in a tomato bisque--fantastic! I also very much enjoyed the rabbit braised in beer with plums, carrots, and potatoes. Delicious and hearty! Finally, B Too not only has a terrific menu of Belgian beers, it also has an extensive wine list of very good wines at reasonable prices!
Pretty mediocre brunch. We ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was way over-fried. The waffles were fairly plain. The least impressive was the donut (dommlfle or something like that??). NO taste - and unlike in Belgium, no chocolate sauce for dipping!
One good thing - they serve Compass Coffee. Really underwhelming, and sadly - we were there for a birthday brunch (not our choice). Cool bar. Decent atmosphere, if a bit loud.
I went for the prix fixe $35 three course customer appreciation menu and was a little disappointed by the food and the service. They ran out of the kind of Belgian beer I wanted. Then they ran out of the appetizer I wanted. When I said "Wow, that's two things out of 4 that I selected you don't have." The waitress said "Yeah, it happens." as if to say "Get over it, whatever" Not an apology or another suggestion. I ordered the steak tartare as an appetizer instead and it was drippy with the white sauce (mayo?). It tasted more like ham salad. Some dripped on the table and though they cleared the plate, my table was a mess under me for the rest of the meal until finally after several servers made trips to the table to change silverware without wiping the table, our waitress brought dessert. I asked her to wipe the table before she put it down. She did so without a word. Not even "Of course," or "I'm sorry, I should have done that sooner." She had an attitude.
The duck breast entree was perfectly cooked and delicious. The fried waffle apple dessert was good, not great. It needed more caramel. For the price point of this restaurant, it should have better service and food. I probably won't come back.
This is one of my GO TO spots for entertaining. On Sunday I took a group there for a business meeting. The service was adequate at best and they were out of TWO main entrees and an appetizer at 7:00 pm. My guest order a glass of wine and they were out of that specific type. All in all I will continue to dine here. The food we were served was EXCELLENT from the Apps to Dessert!
We were there for a family birthday, and all was well. We got there a bit later than our reservation but that was no problem for the restaurant. There were lots of interesting choices on the menu, and the beer was good. The only problems worth mention were the difficulty in finding a parking place, and the extremely loud noise from all the patrons. Our server was very good.
So nice to share my experience with a dear friend. She loved the 2 appetizers including snail croquettes and fried duck bitter balls! Since it's a Tuesday we both orders the Brussels Mussels and loved our meals. Great happy hour at the bar and fantastic service by Chris as always!
