I love B-Too... Food every bit as good as Le Diplomat but no attitude other than hospitality and graciousness. Great if you like mussels. Best onion soup I've ever had.
Great food and variety for brunch. Staff is friendly and good service.
We were at the restaurant before the theatre and the service was wonderful. The scallops were fabulous. Two people in our party got the mussels and enjoyed them.
Service was great. Ambiance was so so. The open kitchen detracts . Recipes were authentic Belgian but taste was only so so. Great selection of beers.
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere!
Our meal (Mussels Mariniere and the rabbit stew, roasted brussels sprouts) were spectacular. We were on a fairly tight schedule and we were served our food very quickly. Everyone was very professional. The ambiance is lovely and the noise level was great -- quiet enough to be able to easily hear my dinner companion from across the table. I'll go back!
B Too, what has happened to you? This used to be one of our go-to restaurants, especially for pre-theatre meals. This time, no. The menu has changed, which on its surface is okay - most of the new dishes looked pretty good. But they were mediocre at best. For instance, the (three) scallops themselves were good, I think, but it was hard to tell due to the cloying sauce. They came with very attractive and vastly overcooked mushy carrots. I'm not sure what was going on with dessert - we got an apple waffle thing which included the most tasteless and mushiest waffle we'd ever had, with some uncertain-taste topping (except for the apples themselves, which were okay) - luckily, the serving included only two small slices of waffle. On the plus side, the drinks were excellent. We might give this place one more try just in case this re-created version of B Too was just having a very bad night, but if we have an experience like this again, it's off our list.
Great Brunch. A bit pricey but all the dishes were elegantly plated, decadent and delicious, and the service was suburb.
Hands down, my favorite restaurant in DC. The best wine list, chef driven seasonal menu, everything is always incredibly fresh and seasonal. The staff is amazing. Eat everything with reckless abandon.
Great place to enjoy the night with friends. The only downside is the price is a bit higher than the dishes worth. That pig ear dish looks good, but the taste wasn't that great ...
Food is excellent! Service is impeccable! Atmosphere is awesome!
Great food and fantastic service. Enjoyable meal. Kids loved it too—steak, rabbit, mussels, waffle desserts. Can’t wait to return.
Food was great and service was also good. We had no idea they had downstairs dining area which was really nice and rather quiet for a Friday night in a good way.
High quality bartender and mixologist.
High quality food.
Low key Authentic atmosphere.
Will be returning often
Always count on a great meal and service! Best to make a reservation first.
I love B Too for a classic Belgian meal (complete with fantastic options for Belgian beer) in a buzzy setting. We chose to get seated a little earlier and eat at the bar, and the service was fantastic. We got curry mussels and the short rib stew. Splurge for dessert, they are always a work of art!
Absolutely phenomenal food, presented beautifully.
This restaurant is expensive. I paid too much for just a waffle, a toast with avocado and smoked salmon and a mimosa. I won' t return. The food was disappointing. The hostess was unfriendly but the waiter was fine.
A terrific blend of American and Belgian food. We were a group of seven to include kids (8-16). From arrival through departure the service was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had a good mix of the dishes from appetizers, steak, to salmon, scallops, and vegetarian (truffle stuffed agnolotti pasta). All were fresh, all had good flavor, and were an adequate amount of food without overwhelming the plate. The tomato soup with cheese waffle is a great way to start the menu and the Belgian Waffle was the best way to end. Strongly recommend.
The food was good. We had the B Too Mussels and then I had the beet salad. The salad had a beautiful presentation and it also tasted good. I wil l recommend to others and will go again.
Sunday brunch was very busy and energetic. It's a cozy space with an open kitchen. Go if you're feeling upbeat and ok with sitting close to strangers.
Food was delicious but some portions were very small. Ask clarifying questions. Brunch menu includes a great balance of savory and sweet. I can't wait to go back and try more!
We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation. Either they very under staffed or disorganized, our waiter didn't have a lot of time for us. 3/4 poached eggs that came to our table were hard-boiled. It was definitely not enough food for an adult and drinks were expensive. Would not recommend.
I have been to B Too many times in the past. The price fix menu was limiting. We had to wait for our water, request bread, and our first course came after 40 minutes. It wasn't very good. Another 30 minutes passed. Our main course was terrible, had to send the tenderloin back. After waiting 10 more minutes, we requested our check and left.
The worst part of the meal was our server. I have waited tables for 10 years, and get what is going on when he kitchen may be backed up and overwhelmed. We got absolutely no attention from him, he had no personality, there was never a stop by the table to apologize for the situation, we actually had to flag another server down to get another drink. We noticed that the other servers throughout the room were all attentive, normal and sweet to their tables.
Before we left, we spoke to both the hostess and another waiter, that I know from previous dinners there, about our situation. That waiter apologetically took our check and comped us one of the meals and one of the drinks. It was very sweet of him.
Unfortunately, I will never return to B Too.
Unfortunately we never got to try our food because we left after one hour and 15 minutes of sitting, we still hadn’t gotten our appetizers. It was Valentine’s Day so of course it was busy, but no busier than a Friday or Saturday night, and they offered a prix fixe menu, which should make getting food out faster, not slower. That being said, the waitress and manager were incredibly apologetic and you could tell they felt embarrassed, and they gave us the drinks we’d had while waiting on the house (as they should). Definitely put a big damper on our Valentine’s Day, and for a restaurant that has been open for 5+ years, they should know the holiday drill by now. I want to like this place so badly because it’s 2 blocks from our house, but we always seem to have a service problem when we go.
Went for Valentine’s Day pre fix menu. The food was incredible, when we finally got it. Our waitstaff was friendly and on top of it, however the kitchen need to get their stuff together. We waited more than 20 minutes between our first course being finished and the main course arriving. Then even longer for our desert. There was a table next to us that waited 45 minutes for their first course before leaving. Not really how it should go on a pre fix meal.
Gorgeous ambiance and the service from our waiter rob was phenomenal! Food was delicious!
This is a solid restaurant. The food was served hot, it was good and - the test of a Belgian restaurant - the fries were properly done. I had homemade boudin blanc and it was delicious. The service was very nice although I was there for lunch and the restaurant was mostly empty.
I love B Too!
Most of our dishes were fine. But the green eggs and waffle combo was terrible. The eggs and the cheese were stone cold and pretty tasteless. Disappointing.
Excellent service from our server Ash!
Food was delicious and great decor.
Nice brunch spot.
Great Brunch. Very tasty waffle with perfectly cooked poached eggs.
We had a reservation, but had to wait for our table.
Um....NO, unacceptable. We never really had a waiter because he was busy work a large party. Had to ask for water 4-5 times. Had to order drinks from the hostess. The food was barely average. NO seasoning on my steak and really overpriced. The kitchen is open with no ventilation, so it was Smokey, and we all smelled like fried food the rest of the night.
Won’t do dinner there again.
The brunch is great though.
Great food prompt service, can’t wait to return and enjoy everything else I didn’t get to try. Just got a quick lunch
Always a good dinner at B Too! Great staff and super good bartenders!
B Too has an interesting and unique menu with great vegetarian breakfast items and yummy brunch cocktails. My friends and I love to go there for brunch before we go to usher at Studio theater nearby.
The host was rude when we arrived. The food was awesome. The waiter seemed as if he wasn’t really interested in being there.
Super quite restaurant, however the service was not good at all. The hostess who seemed to be manager had to take our order bc we waited 10-15 minutes without anyone ever coming to our table. We had to keep getting someone’s attention to get items or for our check and for them to take our check. The food was just ok and did not reflect the prices.
Met its usual high standard with respect to food and atmosphere
Another wonderful experience. Great drinks, wonderful food, and superb service!
