Wonderful dinner experience! We tried a variety of dishes - including salmon, two shrimp dishes and the lamb shank and all were excellent. We also had a couple of wonderful desserts: the bread pudding and the cheesecake. Loved every bite. We weren’t expecting this level of quality from an eatery, but B. Matthew’s surprised us. The service was also very good. Ambiance was decent, place was clean and relatively quiet with a quaint bar that turns out to be one of the oldest in Savannah (based on what we were told). Would eat here again if in the Savannah area.

Our waitress was extremely attentive and polite and made accommodations to my dietary preferences. Food came out fast and was so good! The Brussel sprouts were our favorite. I had the French toast and the blueberry compote really gave it extra flavor. My partner had the crab cake benny and he loved it. Everything was cooked perfectly.

Food was delicious!! Had an incredible server but unfortunately cannot remember her name. Food came out relatively quickly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Biscuits were some of the best I’ve had as well as delicious mimosas. Atmosphere was great and would absolutely return. Great location right by river street.

Enjoyed the gluten-free pork chop and the brussel sprouts. Menu has several gluten-free offerings that are greatly appreciated by celiacs like myself. Would love to see more gluten-free appetizers and desserts as well. We look forward to dining here again soon as we are locals

Our server was outstanding. She remembered our order without writing it down and gave us a very detailed account of the daily specials from memory - very impressive. She was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal in case we needed anything without being intrusive.

Really appreciated the service and ambience. Wanted to like it a lot more than we did. Everything just severely under seasoned and not flavorful. Had the pork chop and the pot pie. Lack of salt was evident and the chop was over cooked, to the point the knife they brought out for it had difficulty cutting through it.

I ate here 5 years ago and had a wonderful experience. So when my friends and I were planning on staying in Savannah during our trip, I brought them to B Matthews. We were not disappointed! Wonderful food, beautifully presented. Staff are fantastic as well! We all highly recommend this restaurant!

We have actually been here twice within three days and so enjoyed our meals, the excellent service, and how lovely everyone is to us. The food is so utterly southern; today we had the sward fish stew, and the delicious chicken salad sandwich. It was fresh and so tasty. It’s a can’t miss; there is limited, outdoor seating, however.

Hello, My sister and I visited twice during our stay in Savannah. First time was such a tremendous pleasure with our server Rae. We came back again and enjoyed having Benjamin take care of us. Perfectly cooked swordfish was amazing. Shrimp and grits the best. Can’t wait to return to Savannah and visit B. Matthews again!
