Great food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Their outdoor patio in the back is awesome!
Dining in the back yard was welcome and the service was great!
Food was good, as expected. Service was pretty terrible. Inattentive, missed portions of our order - felt like we were constantly having to wave the wait staff down. Disappointing given have had great experiences in the past.
The servers all looked miserable. Even the kids picked up on it. 😳
We loved it here. Are like king/queens. Service and food are both amazing. Cute patio. Amazing beer selection
We had asked for the garden seating and were informed that that was not available. The seating was in a non descript bench outside, just wood planks. waited for a very long time for drinks and food. Waiter was nowhere to be found. very expensive and mediocre food.
Would not return or reccomend to friends
Burgers were great & beer was excellent as always. The dessert was okay but not great. Also, we sat on the street platform which needs some upgrading. I recommend B. Cafe for the beer and burgers any day.
B Cafe never disappoints. Laid back atmosphere, mussels and frites to die for and friendly service offered up at value prices. One of my favorites on the UES.
This place was out of every beer we asked for on the menu.
The staff was great and friendly. They make a great Bloody Mary.
Two of us had Sunday brunch at B. Cafe. My friend had the eggs benedict and I had the farmers omelette. We shared a slice of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Everything was wonderful, as always.
Waiter messed up both our orders. Took a long time to get the food back once corrected. Waiter only came by once to check in food. No one brought water or iced tea refills. The staff basically couldn’t be bothered with us and there were only 2 other tables inside.
We were hoping to seat in the back. But that is alright, we still enjoyed being there. We had not been since before the pandemic and we are thrilled that they are here and happy to support them. I think the food was better. Mussels were outstanding, but the fries are not the Belgian fries, and the salad was so very sad. We will return, but it wasn't as memorable as we remembered.
Slow service. One waiter for entire place.
Waited for Mussels over an hour and the restaurant was not overly crowded. Waited on a new pot of coffee about 1/2 hr. By the time I ask for the third cup, while waiting on mussels, it was disgustedly, completely burnt! Yuk!
There must have been a Hugh problem in the kitchen!!!
Great food & ambiance. The waiter wasn't very good. Said there wasn't any bread except for baguettes they used for sandwiches. He brought a baguette. I asked for extra olives and he handed me a toothpick with olives by hand vs. putting it on a plate. Other than that all good.
A pleasant meal after visiting the Frick. We were a bit early for our reservation but were pleasantly and promptly seated. Excellent Bloody Mary’s and classic Eggs Benedict.
I had the warm chocolate cake, which was tiny, but delicious! I hope to visit again
I always love coming here but this time, we never got refills of coffee, or our orange juice. We asked for the garden which turned out to be complete enclosed and unbearably hot and loud. I would have to think twice about returning.
There were 3 of us for Saturday Brunch. They sat us at a nice large table on their charming back patio, which is completely shaded. The food was excellent! I had the brioche French toast. It was soft, fluffy, and had the perfect amount of crisp on the outside followed by a light dusting of powdered sugar. The berries were ripe and sweet. Not a bad berry in the bunch. It was topped with fresh whipped cream and came with legit Vermont Maple syrup on the side. The others in our party had the Classic Eggs Benedict. The eggs had beautiful bright yellow-orange yolks and were perfectly poached. The English muffins under the eggs were fresh, fluffy, with just the right amount of light toasting. The ham was thin and tender, making it very easy to cut and eat with every bite of poached egg (as Eggs Benedict should be enjoyed). It was topped with fresh made Hollendaise Sauce that was delicious and creamy. The Eggs Benedict came with decadent seasoned fries that were light and crispy on the outside and soft inside. We also enjoyed the cocktails. They were no frills, but tasted really good and were not light on alcohol. We had the Bloody Mary and Pear Tree. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing. We felt welcome to enjoy a leisurely Brunch at this busy Cafe on a Saturday.
Food was delicious but otherwise, there was nothing that stood out about our experience. They did not “check-in” on us at all unless we made eye contact (no one came by to refill the coffee or check if we needed anything). The waiter didn’t seemed to happy to be there and did not have a very friendly tone.
Took about 1 1/2 hours to get our meals. Woefully understaffed. Food was just okay. They don’t serve bread. Muscles were fair. Steak was fair. Salads were fair. Meh!
I had the chicken stew which was served with a pleasing sauce, no vegetables were mixed in. It was served with tasty French fries, with mayonnaise and ketchup as condiments on the side.
B Cafe is one of my favorite brunch spots but this was a very disappointing visit. It was an overbooked Mother's Day brunch service, and I am sympathetic to the need to bounce back after the strain that COVID-19 has put on the business, but there were just not enough staff for the number of parties booked and the service was just poor. We waited over an hour for our coffee to come out for a party of 2, and although we came prepared with snacks, waiting over an hour and a half for a 14-month old to receive a pancake order was not ideal. We know that everyone else was in the same boat, but we didn't so much receive an apology, an explanation of delay, or any check-ins to let us know our food was coming out, let alone an offer of bread or something small for the baby to snack on. We frequently ordered take out from B Cafe at the height of the pandemic with generous tips so we could see one of our favorite restaurants come out the other side. I hope this is just a blip and would like to give the restaurant another chance, but I haven't been back since. I'd also like to see the restaurant bring back the spicy mayo (chipotle mayo?) that used to be served alongside the fries, which was always the highlight (and the field greens on the side).
Always good food and lots of great options on the menu.
Abysmal service. Seated outside next to a standpipe on the street, while I made a reservation WEEKS ago for a seat in their beautiful garden. Took 35 minutes to get water and a cup of drip coffee. Food took a full hour to come, and was cold upon arrival. Had to literally TRIP the waiter to get them to bring the check. This place could have been so charming, but instead, it was an absolutely terrible experience. Maybe my worst NYC restaurant experience ever.
Mother's Day brunch. We selected B Cafe because of the outdoor patios and the terrific menu which appealed to our discerning group. It was a hit and we'll be back!
Good food. Nice covered outdoor setup. The service was only okay.
SLIW SERVICE- heaters not working. French toast was dry
Nicely established outdoor / backyard dining area. B. Burgers were delicious with exceptional fries. Nice selection of Belgian beers.
Outstanding food and terrific service. We will absolutely go back!
Will never return to this restaurant. We had an 830 reservation on a Saturday night. We stood in front of the hostess stand for 10+ minutes unacknowledged. The restaurant was not even half filled. When we were finally seated, we were ignored by waitstaff for more than 25 minutes, until we flagged someone down to ask if we could order. There were 2 children standing at a separate table from their family dancing and creating Tik Tok videos for most of our meal. Once our food finally showed up, our fries were cold. Then to top it off, the credit card machine did not work. Incredibly lousy service, sub-par food, and disappointing ambiance.
We waited with other people for 1 hour and 45 minutes to get our food. Nobody would acknowledge us except the waiter who kept apologizing. Finally the food came out and the mussels tasted like they were in toilet water, the burger was burnt to a crisp. The waiter took the burger back and then the kitchen was closing so never got food. Everyone outside was complaining and the manager came out and kicked everyone out and started screaming at everyone. It was disgusting.
Absolutely terrible service. It took almost 2 hours to get our food.
Disappointing compared to previous visits.
Saturday brunch for 4. Courteous service, good food and nice ambiance with table appropriately distanced.
Lousy service couldn’t get their act together to run my bill through the credit card machine - incredibly incompetent
They had 1 rose on the wine list and were out of it.
Wine list wasn’t very good small selection.
I had mussels and the sauce was like water.
Not in a hurry to return
Always a good experience.
The beer selection is great and the Croque Madame was delicious.
Burgers were dry, food wasn't good. The server wasn't very kind or helpful. The beer was good and the outside seating was nice. Won't go back.
