Azure - The Royal Hawaiian
Extraordinary service and delicious food.
Was here for my honeymoon. The food was amazing and flavours were out of this world! Ambience was perfect as we had a private cabana! Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner!
Food was good, but for the price should be the best food you’ve ever had, but it’s not. Good though.
Bread was not uninspired. Hard sourdough mini baguette
, no flavor. Took a long time to get.
I used to recommend, but maybe not any more. Had the identical meal about a month ago. Service was better before. Food was far better before. Didn't even feel like staying for dessert this time.
I totally went outside my comfort zone and had the prix fixe tasting menu. Outstanding! A waiter asked what my favorite was of the 5 courses. Surprisingly, I said the chilled asparagus soup paired with a Riesling. (I don’t like cold soup or Riesling.). Well, it was perfect. Can’t say enough good things about the whole experience.
A lovely venue venue with fabulous views. Great service and overall a fabulous experience
The food was okay but nothing amazing. The service was excellent. It is an old historic hotel and parts of seem that way. Druery
Tom is the BEST server. He made this one of our most favorite dinners. Ever.
Amazing food, service and ambience. I was so pleased with the entire experience. Highly recommend.
This was one of the best meals I have ever had. I eat out quite a bit at higher end restaurants and this meal, service, and ambiance was above and beyond. We had the prefix menu and each course was visually appealing and mouth watering. The service was over the top. I recommend asking for Derek. They had live music and the singer singing that night should be in LA right now producing an album. The ambiance is sleek and sophisticated. The restaurant is a little bit more expensive, but so worth every penny. What an amazing experience!
アップグレードをして頂きました。家族と貴重な時間を過ごせる日だったので、大満足です。 またお料理も日本人の口に合いボリュームも多くなく 食べることができました！店員さんも素敵な笑顔でサービスをしてくれました！Thank you so much.I love the hotel.
Over priced food. Served Luke warm, waitresses was non existent. Won’t be back.
Seated promptly, excellent wine recommendations, food was stellar, service impeccable. We will be going back!
Celebrating our engagement and her birthday. The food was delicious and the service was amazing.
High quality food, and the portions are really suitable for people who want something a little more conservative than some of the massive dishes often served at stateside restaurants.
It's my second experience going to Azure, because I loved it so much the first time I had to come back it's a must do on our family itinerary. The ingredients are fresh, flavors full and the options are enough for everyone. Our wine was the best!
Pretty disappointing from how we were greeted to where we were seated, especially considering it was a special occasion and we were hotel guests. The food was very good.
Our server was friendly and kind, but the entire experience itself was truly disappointing. From the hostess to the entire staff on board, everyone seemed like they hated being there. The food was mostly terrible. It’s shocking that a high end restaurant would serve food so terribly and have its team that’s truly rude and unhappy. Definitely a terrible way to celebrate both 40th and 70th birthdays. It ruins the Royal Hawaiian brand and the reputation of Hawaii.
Location is beautiful and that’s about all Azure has going for it. The wait staff is just doing their job, possibly understaffed. No joy, no fun, no personal interaction, and super slow service. The hostesses were again just standing around doing their job. Only in Waikiki could a restaurant get away with such poor customer service and hospitality training. The chef may be good but when it takes forever to get a glass if water and some bread...he’s already starting at a disadvantage. And when an hour goes by and there is still no food and nobody even eat by to offer more bread or anything, we’ll, the food is not going to be a star no matter what.
We used to love Azure and came for years. We were unable to go last year because a strike had closed the restaurant. We returned a couple of nights ago and it was a huge disappointment. The menu has totally changed and now the food is visually stunning, but relatively tasteless and unmemorable. Also, the bread they claim they are famous for is also bland and tasteless. The only good thing was the sweet potato side dish. Previously, they had choices of different fish that could be prepared different ways (the "blackened" version with an excellent sauce was wonderful), and also very good side dishes.
They should bring back the old menu. We will not be back until they do.
This was the perfect date place. Our table was directly adjacent to the beach, it was just before sunset and the weather was perfect. Our server, Jan, was wonderful. He was attentive without being intrusive and our food was excellent. We had a bottle of Chenin Blanc that complimented our meal. Between us we had appetizers of oysters and a salad that had an amazing dressing. I had the Beef and reef which was wonderful and my husband had the seafood gnocchi in a lobster bisque sauce which he couldn’t stop raving about. We finished up with a choc dessert, coffee and port. What’s not to love!!!
Amazing waiter, awesome food and great setting! We got the seafood tower, which was fresh and delicious.
Really nice restaurant in a classic historic hotel. The food and staff were outstanding.
It was our 25 wedding anniversary. We were married at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel back in 1994. It was important to return there, for a nice, romantic dinner on the beach at sunset. Thanks to the staff at the restaurant our expectations were exceeded. I called a week earlier to confirm everything. Although they couldn’t give me any guarantees, everything worked out perfectly. The hostess gave us the perfect table and our server was excellent. The food was great and the sunset was perfect.
Waiter started out pleasant, then would disappear for lengthy intervals. Portions quite small, but is quite good!
The best seafood in Honoluli
Really outstanding food and ambiance. Right on the beach. Can't wait to come back. It is now my first choice.
For $100 per person start point we found the service to be subpar and the food to be mediocre at best.
Service first. We were seated and then ignored. It was 12 minutes before the server came over to welcome us and ask for our drink order. BTW we seated at 545p at a restaurant that opened at 530p. The waiter had no desire to know us as his client nor discuss our expectations with us about dinner. No recommendations or suggestions. During the dinner I decided to have a different wine with my meal. Had to wait another 15 minutes to finally get his attention to order it. I think you might be getting the picture. Would have had more wine and a dessert and probably spent another $100 if the waiter would have been even slightly more attentive.
Let's talk food. The salad was essentially a giant bowl of lettuce with minor amounts of other vegetables sparsely thrown on top. I will say that the appetizer of a sashimi plate was excellent. In fact it was the high point of the meal. Sad when the appetizer is the high point. I had Gnocchi my wife had filet and lobster. The Gnocchi was a bit doughy with minimal flavor. My wife's steak was properly cooked medium rare however it was highly under salted. She wanted salt but again we had a significant wait looking for our server (10 min). Finally interrupted a runner to get salt. The lobster was properly cooked but once again the flavor was adequate at best. All in all I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. We were prepared to spend $150 to $200 per person so we are not cheap. Poor service, no where near the flavor quality one would expect at this price point. Go somewhere else you wouldn't be sorry.
Great foods, Great views, Good service, very high prices
It`s was really a beautiful evening with you. Especially the seating outdoors, very close to the beach was great.
For the prices they charged the Opah was dry, salad was good but nothing was outstanding. Roy’s or Orchids is much better. Disappointed and next time will go elsewhere with friends that are visiting.
MY husband nd I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at for our 25th wedding anniversary at Azure. The staff and food were excellent. We had a fantastic table with a lovely view of the beach and diamond head it could not have been more beautiful.
Booked a 30th Anniversary dinner (for 3) and requested the patio with a beachfront table (if possible). Upon arrival, service was prompt; however, they sat us at a patio table away from the beach, in the middle of the walkway or traffic flow area providing access to the patio, and immediately adjacent to the waiters station. Anyone paying for an upscale meal such as these shouldn't be sitting in an isle way or so close to a waiter's station. A dining experience like this is not only about the quality and presentation of the food, its also about ambiance. This table really should be eliminated (in my opinion). After expressing our discomfort with the accommodations (my wife was close to leaving), we were placed at one of the two vacant tables beach side. Not sure why we weren't seated at the beach side table in the first place. In the end, the table and ambiance were excellent, the food was tasty, Raymond (our server) was fantastic, and my wife, daughter and I had a memorable time.
The tasting menu is so delicious
Upon arriving we were served welcome drinks because we celebrated an anniversary, what we appreciated very much. The service off the whole staff, in paricular our waiter scott, was outstanding. The food was extremely delicious.
