Azure Ratings and Reviews
The pictures on the internet do not reflect the dining room at all!!! There were no tablecloths , the table was sticky , they had the doors open to the bar it was VERY noises . Very limited menu they were also serving a lunch menu at 7 pm at night !!! We were dressed up & yet when I called about the dress code we were told no flip flops etc . People were dressed in sweatpants !!! We will not go back at all overpriced for this place . Don't waste your money or time .
It was Christmas dinner and it was great. Not many places open but this was and we we very pleased. Have been here several times before and never disappointed. Food service and staff are great. Was a bit noisy with families and kids but it was ok. It was Christmas after all.
My wife and I were staying at the Shores Resort & Spa, where we'd just thoroughly enjoyed my cousin's wedding the night before. We wanted to try Azure's gourmet seafood, having seen their "swanky interior & a seaside terrace" for the past few days. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but something just seemed to be missing from the kitchen's perspective. Every dish seemed to have been prepared using fresh, high end ingredients, but the culinary artistry we're used to seeing at restaurants with their price point just was not there. Positive: Our waiter was extremely fun (and proudly Puerto Rican) and he definitely wanted us to enjoy ourselves. I'm going to say that my review may be biased by a combination of extremely high expectations, and the fact that it was the week of Thanksgiving (the beach was pretty quiet and cold). Anyhow, if you're in Daytona Beach and budget's not an issue, this is a cool location to dine!
sent back first filet ordered medium rare looked and tasted well done another was sent out it was a little better but not much it was comped and desert was comped also place was nosiey Oh and server forgot the lobster and mac. And drinks where weak. Wont be going back
I have nothing negative to say about my experience at Azure. The service was great! We started with a glass of red wine, We had the corn and crab Chawder, and Lobster bisque with a Rosemary bread that was amazing.....Our entrees were the seafood autuffé and the Black and blue prime rib.
We will recommend this place to others to experience the save service we had.
Thank you Azure and staff for such an maxing experience.
The food and service were great but the ambiance was just plain not there. I expected an upscale décor with matching clientele but instead it was mostly Dad, Mom and the kids, all in tank tops and flip-flops. If you're looking for a place to romace your sig-other, this isn't the place.
Overall a pleasant experience with a couple of glitches. We had come in the afternoon to check out the restaurant and booked a specific end table with a view of the water to celebrate our Anniversary. When we arrived, our table had been taken by another couple. The waiter was superb and we both ordered the corn crab soup. He came back after 10 minutes and said they were out of the soup and could he substitute the lobster bisque which we agreed to. However,
it was very salty and unlike any lobster bisque we had ever had (too much sherry, perhaps). At
any rate, the entrees were both excellent (one seafood and one grouper). The bread was
excellent too. The menu is not big but appropriate for that special occasion. The waiter
gave us wine and a dessert on the house after our complaint with soup so we would overall
recommend this restaurant.
Facility was not conducive to a mid-evening meal with bright lights and loud large group (12/18) seated next to our table immediately after we were seated. Service was good but stretched, water glasses were not refilled and had to ask for steak knife - not what I would expect of a highly rated restaurant. The meals were as ordered and served hot. We have previously visited and the same unearned attitude of pretentiousness exists. If the experience lived up to the attitude it would be outstanding, unfortunately it does not.
Azure is a lovely restaurant that is a special place for celebrations -- like a 16th birthday party. The five of us enjoyed very good scallops, filet mignons, and shrimp cocktails. Our waiter was attentive and gracious even when we questionned him about the ingredients in / on some of the food.
The menu was very limited because it was valentine's day but the selections seemed ok. The service was ok, the rest of the hotel staff was incredible and the bar staff was very knowledgable. The wait staff though was a little inexperienced and answered a few questions about the menu incorrectly.
The Azure is one of my favorite restaurants in the Daytona Beach area. It is always my "go to" location when I need to impress family, friends and/or clients. So, it seemed natural to choose Azure for a special Valentine's dinner with my wife.
The restaurant provides several areas for a quiet secluded meal, or you can opt for a scenic outdoor setting. What I didn't realize, is that you may also be seated in the bar area. I was surprised that the hostess seated us in a loud, non-romantic bar for this special event. I had booked this event well in advance, and had assumed that it was a special seating with a special menu.
We ordered the tomahawk ribeye for two. The dish was outstanding! I was confused as to why the Azure would serve a steak for two and not carve it tableside. It is a little awkward to cut up a steak and serve it as if we were in a family-style restaurant. I have enjoyed steaks at most of the best steakhouses in the country, and every time I've ordered a steak for two or more... it was carved at the table.
Overall... The food, wine, cocktails and dessert was excellent.
The service and ambiance were A+. It was a busy night (Valentine's Day), but the staff was attentive and courteous. We had a spectacular time and we never felt crowded or lost in the chaos of dinner on a special occasion like at some places. And if you stay the night, breakfast was just as wonderful.
I took my date here for Valentine's Day, it was great! It wasnt nice enough to sit outside, but the ambiance inside was perfect. Our waiter was very pleasant and friendly. I ordered the grouper and my date ordered the filet mignon, both were very excellent dishes, and two that I would highly recommend!
Azure stepped up and delivered at every opportunity with graciousness and efficiency
They tailored some salad ingredients to please our dining party and made adjustments to accommodate a disabled party member. Heather was our server and she worked with the chef to create an outstanding dining experience
Plans where to have Christmas Dinner, arrived finding that Dinner(restaurant) wasn't served until 4pm. Waitress, Hostess and Manager were VERY accommodating with suggests which included a Holiday buffet upstairs. We did get a chance to view both their Lunch & Dinner menus and they seem well priced and choice for the type of the facility Resort/Spa.
We took upon the Buffet suggestion and was graciously escorted by the Manager himself.
We enter the upstairs dining area with a spectacular Ocean view. All Dining servers were very nice and being that We were the last arriving and last in leaving. Price, some would think high, * Remember it was CHRISTMAS, well feel was VERY fair $50.00 in that it included ALL drinks with Complimentary champagne. MANY in surrounding Communities were MUCH higher. It did charge additional fee(s), both a Gratuity Service 18% *normal amount & Tax.
Being that it the Buffet was near ending, Food was what it was, It was Good, the Shrimp were colossal, several options to choose with a Standing Chef for custom cooking options. Overall not bad, but I bet FANTASTIC if arrived/known about earlier.
My ONLY wish was there was a CHRISTMAS BUFFET advertised on their Site, as not seen, so We thought it was a sit-down restaurant only.
Will consider re-visit next year, but meanwhile would like to plan also a return to sample their daily menu.
This Resort/Spa (The Shores) is absolutely so different as being located right on the Ocean A1A Daytona Beach) and not what one would expect (Décor) * not "beachy"- but VERY nice, sort of like Old time nostalgia.
This was our first choice for Thanksgiving Dinner this year, as we were staying in Daytona for the annual Turkey Rod Run. We dropped into the bar for "Happy Hour" and found the drinks to be a great starter for our evening. We were warmly greeted and seated by Harper at our reservation time and Heather was a wonderful server. We chose to order from the menu and were very pleased with our choices. We shared a Caesar salad and we each ordered seafood, including the grouper entree and the seafood etouffe. Both meals were deliciously well prepared. The view of the ocean was a perfect compliment to the evening and we look forward to returning to Azure on our next visit to Daytona. There are limited choices for upscale dining on Thanksgiving Day and we would highly recommend Azure!
I chose azure because it sounded like a cool place to have dinner, especially after scoping out their menu on opentable. Upon arrival it took a while before we got seated even though it was very slow. The online menu lured us there, but to our surprise non of the items were available. We were told the menu had just changed. We ordered our food, the tuna appetizer was awful, had no taste, just blend and loaded with edamame peas and some paste. The steak was over cooked, I asked for med rare but... The chicken entrée was so so, with sauce just thrown on the plate. Overall the plate presentation was awful, and the food itself was the worst I have ever had. Our server was very nice, we talked to him about our experience and he agreed the presentation of the plates was below standards. He said had just came back from vacation and that he would bring this to the GM and chefs attention. I am still waiting to hear from the restaurant (as promised by our server) to see if they have made any significant changes, as I would give them another chance. However its been two weeks and no word, I guess we wont be visiting azure again. Not worth the drive, its a shame because its such a beautiful place with great outdoors oceanfront. But the food lives a lot to be desired.
Found this gem in South Daytona Beach over looking the shore. Outdoor or indoor dining.
We chose indoor but walked outside. The chief and menu were new that day. It was outstanding. It did not disappoint at all, we had steak and salmon which was done to perfection. Appetizers were super, nice wine list too. Deserts - well I am sorry we only had room for one !
Heard this place was amazing but it was not so for us. Met friends here for lunch. The trouble started when I tried to make a reservation for 7 and was told there were no available tables. So I had to make reservation for 6 which meant my son couldn't join us. When we got there the place was EMPTY. So I have a hard time understanding why I couldn't get a table for 7. Then we were given a menu that only contained 4 choices for apps, 4 choices for soups and salads, and 3 choices for sandwiches. That was it! When we asked about seeing a dinner menu we were told that the kitchen had just been renovated and they would not be able to fix anything other than what was presented. Really??? If the menu was limited due to a remodel it would have been nice to have been informed. I would have gone somewhere else. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for high end food. You might not get it here.
This was our second visit to Azure, the first time being a year ago. We already knew that it would be an elegant atmosphere, and we also saw that the menu changed a bit since our last visit.
It was Halloween night so there was a loud party going on at the resort, but my husband and I were seated as far away from the noise as possible in the outdoor area. The ocean view was beautiful, and our waiter Charles was very friendly.
The menu is very limited, which we believe is usually a good sign that a restaurant prepares a few dishes very well instead of a bunch of mediocre offerings.
This held true at Azure. Everything was excellent and the presentation was beautiful as well. We ordered every appetizer on the menu and everything was extremely flavorful and well thought-out. For the main course, the Wagyu steaks were cooked properly with attention to the natural flavor of the meat rather than over-seasoned.
Since it was our wedding anniversary, the staff surprised us with a personalized cheesecake dessert that was to die for.
Overall, we really enjoy this place and plan to bring the rest of our family here sometime for a nice evening out.
This was our 5th time dining at Azure, and the 3rd time for our anniversary, while staying at The Shores Resort. This time around the food experience was a little different. The wine selection was still very good, but the menu was a bit limited. It turns out that the restaurant is undergoing renovations and all of the cooking and the staff are working out of displaced tents and refrigeration trucks! Given that, everything was pretty good. Our server Rachel was WONDERFUL!
We should have been weary when we got there because we were the only ones there at 6pm on a Sunday! We waited like almost 30 minutes for our entrees. Then my wife had to send her food back twice b/c the steak was rare when she order well. My meal was average at best and cold. It's right next to the beach entrance into the hotel which was great for people watching but not for a vacation date night. We did get a complimentary s'more fusion desert bag thing but that was all. Not worth the $150 tab (we only had 1 drink each).
