Azur Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately we left before we even got the menu! We had reservations and upon Arriving we were the first patrons. The wait staff went to seat us but the maitre d intercepted. He sat us by the end of a long hallway that everyone passes through to go to the terrace area. I asked him kindly if we could sit elsewhere since the place was empty. He replied 'no'. His attitude was not hospitable. A simple request made by us was clearly annoying to him. We we mentioned we were leaving, the wait staff graciously offered to seat us at another table as the restaurant was empty. However, the maitre d was inflexible and would not allow this so we left. We ate a Manga Manga nearby and had a wonderful meal. They were very accommodating. We regret having to leave as we were told by friends that reside here that the food and ambiance was great.
Good food and good service. Enjoyed a mix - I had a great confit duck leg in cassoulet, while partner had a wonderful Snapper. The fruitti de mare is tremendously good, and we shared a very well done romaine salad. The desert of pecan pie with rosemary coupled with cardomom ice cream was a huge hit we shared. Very nice place, I will go again. No liquor license, wine and beer only. Glass wine ranges from $8 to $12 - we started with a very nice California Chardonnay done perfectly in a chenin blanc style for $9. Bottled wines range from mid-$30s to mid-$60s, we had a very nice middle-bracket Pinot Noir with our wide ranging selection and it went well. Good wine values for a restaurant.
Our waiter was good. However, my wife was insulted by the short foreign-speaking waiter who asked her to turn her phone off during an urgent call from her daughter. We should have gotten up and left at that time verses that rudeness spoiling our evening at Azur. She was not able to hear her daughter due to the loud talking at the table behind her. We are Local and have dined there many times in the past but I don't believe you will see us again. John
A fantastic meal from start to finish! We didn't think we were that hungry but from the Lobster Bisque to the Pulpo, the fresh local caught Swordfish to the Braised Ribs Gnocchi, the Cardamom ice cream and the Apricot and Almond Crepe...perfection! Was a most amazing meal! We see why this is a Local Favorite and a top-lister by Foodies!
Azur, just up the street from where we were staying. Very good yellow tail snapper for my husband and me, and very good whole branzinos for our friends We enjoyed appetizers of octopus and ahi carpaccio very much. A good albariño followed by an acceptable, though grassy, NZ sauvignon blanc. An enjoyable evening. Pleasant to sit outside. Service was fine. Restaurant was quiet since it was the eve of Thanksgiving.
We went here when our in-laws were in town around Thanksgiving. It's a quaint restaurant in a quiet part of town. The food was delicious, but we all ended up ordering the same thing because the other options looked a little overpriced, and there isn't a huge menu.
We searched for a table on the day after Fantasy Fest and were lucky to get one at AZUR, their summer menu was still in effect and our delicious light dinners were incredibly inexpensive. Two courses each and a glass of wine cost only $70 including tip. What a deal! Noise was an annoyance with a large raucous table behind us but it was a holiday weekend.
