   Azumi he never misses for me. We brought some friends for dinner and they absolutely loved it. Our Server Valeria was awesome and definitely added to the great experience. Get the azumi house salad, seaweed salad, Australian Wagyu, steak, wagyu fried rice, and leave room for the desserts. And you can always expect bumping music.

   Azuma is a great spot for a sexy dinner or a chill night out with your ppl. Food was 9.0 of 10. We didn't enjoy the shosito peppers appetizer. I'm used to the peppers being cooked down more, not aldenté. The accompanying sauce was too spicy for the peppers-that's just my opinion. The Fire lobster roll , the tempura snow crab and the main dish, Miso Cod were excellent! We had ordered a drink that we didn't enjoy, the waitress replaced it with a drink we did like. Then, the manager stopped by and made sure we were good. She asked what we didn't like about the drink. We explained it was more savory than expected. The manager explained the drink detail, then wished us a happy dining experience! She was great. Overall, Azumi is a great vibe and the food was just as good. We will definitely see Azumi again in the near future!

   If you are familiar with and looking for an authentic Japanese food experience, this is not the place. If not, it’s average at best. The menu may appear Japanese but the preparation and quality of the ingredients are far from it. Core basics, like sushi rice, miso soup, and tempura prep, are not even close to Japanese standards and flavors. And you will pay exorbitant prices for the let down. At this price point this restaurant should be setting its standards and quality much higher and should aspire to provide its guests with something much more authentic.

    The restaurant got so incredibly LOUD (like we were at a RAVE) that we could not hear each other or even communicate with our server. Even our server said - “I’ve got to get them to turn this down. I can’t hear anyone.” Two people in our group had migraine headaches by the time we left. Had the music volume been reasonable, the experience would have been so much better. On the up side, the food was excellent.

    We had to wait over 50 mins for our sushi after getting our appetizers fairly quickly. When we asked about it they said that our order fell behind other tables with no explanation. Once the sushi did it come the rice on the sushi was extremely overcooked and mushy almost at a mashed potato consistency. We had no problem waiting if we were given an explanation but no one checked on our table till we said something. Very disappointing experience

    Our meal at Azumi was outstanding-start to finish. Their bartending and signature cocktails are on point and the sake selection is incredible. Highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Tataki Roll, Spider Roll and Calamari which was light, crispy and featured an incredible citrus dipping sauce.

    Met our daughter in Baltimore who was on a business trip. Chose this restaurant for dinner. Nice standard Japanese fare. Very good service and ambience. Sushi was very good. Had spicy tuna and cucumber and avocado rolls. Presentation was very nice. Also had vegetable tempura. Only problem was one of the pieces was fish. Sent it back and they made a new order. We are vegetarians so this was not ok. They did bring some desserts which they comped so they tried to make it right.

    I’ve been going to Azumi for years: previously my favorite sushi place in Baltimore. Something has changed. Miso soup was similar to what you would get at any sushi place; the seaweed salad, which used to be unique, was now the same that can be bulk purchased anywhere. The meal was rushed, with new courses coming out the moment they were ready, rather than waiting until we finished the current course. Hopefully they can return to their previous level of quality. Currently, it was disappointing.

    We have had enjoyable experiences here. This night was not one of them. We arrived exactly on time for our reservation and were told to wait until other guest got up before we get seated. My wife wandered out to the patio and thought even though it had rained the area was fine to sit at. They seated us and told us we would be served by a young lady name Shelby who greeted us and then proceeded to ignore us and cater to the several tables who came after us. After almost 20 minutes of being ignored we moved to the bar and the bartender acted like we were inconveniencing him as well. It was not until Rita came over and apologized for everything and Kevin from the bar got involved that we at least felt like we were being treated with decency.

    Ye' gets what ye' pays for. If you're a skinflint, don't bother to book a table. This is NYC, San Francisco grade sushi. Jordan, who took care of us, was just wonderful and got my date a custom twist on her order, which was very kind of him. In addition, he knows the entire menu, including drinks, top to bottom and he had excellent suggestions. If you love your sushi, and crave that perfect roll or sashimi you will find nothing comparable unless you venture North or West; in, my, humble, opinion.

    We have been to Azumi a few times. However this is the first time post-Covid. The ambiance, quality and service is better than pre-Covid. All of the service personnel we interacted with were professional and friendly. Even the valet personnel were helpful and communicative.

    The hostess escorted us to our table- after 17 mins, the hostess realized that a server never showed up. She then asked the manager to give us something to drink, which he did, but didn’t asked if he could take our order or mention he’ll bring a server to our table. We waited for another 10- minutes and never attended to and walked out.

    Axum is a fabulous restaurant with the finest Japanese food in the region. I have had many trips to Japan and I love Japanese food. Azumi is one of the finest Japanese restaurants in the United States. The menu provides many options. The Omakase (chef’s choice) dinners are spectacular and include a selection of world-class Japanese beef. The service is first-class and the prices are appropriate for the quality of the food and the dining experience. I give Azumi my very highest recommendation.

    It’s a bit pricey when considering it’s local competition, but provides very good food and fun cocktails for a “night on the town”. Don’t go expecting a budget meal, go expecting a cool experience. Make sure to order a few items among the table - they arrive as they finish in the kitchen and makes for a fun feel of things always showing up to your table every few minutes.

    Was excited to try this restaurant after reading other reviews. Had reservations for 8:30 pm and was told there would be a wait due to the inclement weather (no outside seating). Sat at the bar to wait for our table. The background music is way too loud and as a result, having a conversation with the wait staff and each other means you practically have to scream. While waiting I spied an empty table that sat idle for 15 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes past our reservation time, we inquired about our table. Suddenly we were seated 25 minutes past our reservation time. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and was excellent. Unfortunately, we could barely hear each other due to background noise. The food is just ok compared to other sushi restaurants. Portions are small and the sushi rolls were just not up to the scale I have had at other sushi restaurants. The dynamite roll lacked that TNT and the yellowtail jalapeño roll was lacking that spicy kick! The edamame was good as was the seaweed salad. Calamari was fair. We did get a complimentary glass of champagne at the end of our meal (due to the wait?) which was a nice touch but I definitely would not recommend this restaurant unless you want to people watch. Maximon and Loch are close by and are so much more elegant with better food!

    Fabulous sushi in nice location. Service was attentive and prompt. There were service vehicles in the cul du sac outside our window, which marred the view a bit, but otherwise a nice experience. Sushi was fresh and excellent.
