Initially I had made a reservation at the Azul for two at 6:45 for two at a table outside. We arrived, and there was no host. I understand he was possibly busy, but when he arrived he proceeded to grab menus and escort us into the restaurant. I stopped and informed him we had reservations already. In hopes he would get the hint and take us to the table I had requested. He went through the motions and allegedly immediately found my name. Asked where I would like to be seated. That alone was an embarrassment with my date. As it appeared I had not made plans and all of this was thrown together. Fortunately we had an amazing server, Tyler. He compensated for the rough start. He is the o my reason I’d give that place another shot after the embarrassment. Tyler was very attentive and ensured every aspect of the meal went perfect. Only one mishap and it was not on him. The kitchen forgot to send out a side, but he immodestly remedied the situation. I would still recommend this location. The ambiance, and certain staff truly make up for any faults that may occur. The food is decent, but nothing to rave about. One finally thing, perhaps they may want to fix their outdoor tables that may be in disrepair. The table we were seated in continuously warbled due to uneven table legs. This caused my dates water to almost spill on multiple occasions. Overall not a totally bad experience. One last thing. My reservation wasn’t honored apparently. So it shows on my opentable app as inhibited reservation. Further proof no effort was made to check information.
When I arrived for my 2:00 lunch reservation made through Open Table, there was no one to greet or seat me. I stopped a passing waiter who left to find someone to help me. When a new person arrived to help me, he said they closed at 2:00 but he would seat me. I showed him the Open Table reservation on my iPhone and he led me to a table. I ordered an expensive glass of wine.
The female server who took my order was pleasant. I ordered the half portion of the salmon entree. When it arrived it looked like a nice piece of fish and I enjoyed it as well as the rest of the meal. When the check arrived, I saw that I was charged for a whole entree portion (at double what I expected to pay).
I told the male server who had taken over my table that I had ordered the 1/2 portion. His reply was, "That was the whole portion, Ma'am." No "I apologize" or "let me see what I can do". I paid the bill and wrote a comment on the receipt about my experience. Haven't heard back and don't expect to. I won't be going back.
We chose Azul because we were guests at the resort for a long weekend. We enjoyed it tremendously.
Food was phenomenal and the service superb. Tyler set the bar with attention!
Absolutely delicious! So worth the price! We will definitely be back.
Service was hit and miss during the 4 times over the course of the weekend. Though in general it was good.
Azul had a pleasant atmosphere and beautiful Mountain Views . Service was terrific, menu choices some what limited for the 2 vegetarians. Food was good, not great and overall pricey for menu choices.
Great service, delicious food and beverages, lovely evening.
The dining room was quiet and comfortable. Our server (George) was extremely attentive and very friendly and officiant. The food was excellent ad the service outstanding.
Seeking a great meal with a view? Azul has it! Lovely view of Westin pools and Catalina mountains while relaxing in comfortable chairs, with a light breeze. Personable wait staff, relaxed atmospher, delicious food.
Beautiful inside but too loud. Not one person liked and enjoyed their food. Cost is very high (over $100.00 for 3 people) for very bad food. I ordered chicken kabobs. Chicken was full of fat and very chewy. Don’t order that or the tacos or the Lamb Barbocoa.
Great place to celebrate. Lovely view of the pool and mountains. The scallops were scrumptious, fresh salad and yummy desserts. Our server was wonderful and attentive.
We sat outside at Azul as the inside is kind of cavernous and echoes. The evening was beautiful and the setting overlooking the mountains could not have been better. My wife went with the 4 course meal option. She had scallops that were excellent. My NY steak was cooked perfectly. We went out of our comfort zone and ordered items that can be easily not done well or very less than impressive. Everything was very well prepared.
Our party of 3 enjoyed a wonderful dinner! The food was prepared as ordered. The noise level was perfect for us to catchup with one another without fighting loud music. Look forward to coming back.
The food was fresh and the service was good. My mother has a walker so the wait staff and hostess moved us to a different table that was closer to the elevator for people with disabilities or who are elderly. We were promptly seated and given our drinks. The food choices were healthy and tasted excellent. The background music 🎶 was also very calming. Listening to a harp and looking at the mountains helped calm me down and made me feel so grateful. My mother really liked getting out and enjoyed the food as well.
Made reservations a month in advance for Mother’s Day brunch. Brought my family and grandparents only to be seated at a rickety, portable table jammed against the back wall. Had to have the family sitting at the end of the table constantly get up and down to let others out and in. Service was minimal and automatically charged us an 18% gratuity for not much. Food was great, but the experience was underwhelming.
Thank you for providing feedback. We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your Mothers Day Brunch with us here at the club. Unfortunately due to weather and the possibility of rain we did not utilize our patio and space was more limited than we had hoped. I would like to discuss the details of your poor service and invite you to reach out. We would like to make improvements on our events and your experience is very important to us. Thank you Melinda Thompson F&B Manager 520-618-4032
Mother’s Day brunch was wonderful! Great service, food, view - thanks for a great celebration meal!!
HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE! We decided to celebrate my wife’s birthday at the restaurant along with staying at the hotel for the weekend. We had a 6:15 reservation and was seated promptly. Almost immediately the service presented an issue it took nearly an hour for our waitress to take our drink and appetizer order, which didn’t initially bother us because we were enjoying the company. From that point forward it went downhill. Our waitress almost appeared to be intentionally ignoring our party, we had to flag down another server to place our orders, and then had to wait an additional hour before the entree’s came to the table. Thoroughly disappointed by then, my steak was undercooked and all of the entree’s were not served together so we waited another 15 minutes until everyone was served. Throughout dinner, we continued to be ignored to the point where I had get up and serve refills on our waters. We complained to the manager at this point and he offered complimentary dessert. No acknowledgement of my wife’s birthday was ever made despite calling in twice to insure they were aware of the special occasion. My wife was terribly upset and I felt like a jerk for the bad experience, now I have a lot of digging out to do for my wife’s birthday ring ruined.
I’m not sure if this is a regular thing, but I will never eat here again and would NOT recommend this to anyone.
Azul was more of a pool bar the day we went. It was attended by well meaning and kindly skilled waitstaff, but was somewhat unclean (our table had uneven streaky patterns from hasty or improper cleaning), the restaurant was filled with bathing suit clad diners and pool-goers traveling through (the main stair route to the pool divides the restaurant), and the food was not the farm-to-fork caliber of many other local restaurants (many of which utilize the local organic, grass-fed, free-range varieties of produce and meats).
I would recommend this lounge for those staying at the hotel as it is an easy stop on their daily route to pick up a snack or a drink.
This was a fun experience sitting outside, and the server allowed us to linger. Service was just right, and the food was good. The ambience was nice; not too quiet, but not noisy
Very poor experience for our anniversary dinner. Dining area is in an open area between the lobby and patio. The resort was hosting hundreds of high school students for a FBLA event and the number of students passing through the area made it extremely noisy and distracting. There seemed to only be one waiter who was training another and despite the few other guests, service was inconsistent. Our waiter was pleasant enough but there just seemed to not be enough staff. Restrooms were in very poor shape from overflowing facilities and were completely out of ALL paper products with trash overflowing trash receptacles.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, OUTSIDE PATIO WAS PERFECT, OUT OF TOWN FAMILY WAS IMPRESSED
Joey was a fantastic server. We sat outside and enjoyed the view and warm sun.
The people there were very friendly and helpful. The food was overpriced and 2 meals were over cooked. One Salad had a hair in it. The waitress was great in trying to accommodate.
The food is expensive, and tiny portions, I live in Tucson , so I am used to spicey food. I got the salmon tacos which were supposed to have jalapeño and chipotle flavor, I couldn’t taste either. The dessert was very good. It was chilly on the patio and there were only 2 outside heaters. I feel we paid a lot for the view.
We had a very good experience. The veranda overlooking the pool and mountains is awesome.
I had a delightful evening with my sister and nephew, made even more special by dinner at Azul. The setting is spectacular and the food and service don't disappoint.
As always a beautiful place to dine outside on the patio, with majestic views.
With impeccable service and cuisine
Second reservation seated, last to leave.
We were served breakfast for 10 days and 2 dinners. We were extremely pleased with the outstanding service.
My entree of Scallops was wonderful. My wife ordered short rib tortellini, that was only mediocre.
Shrimp saviche was very good and our salads were nice also.
We sat out on the patio and watched the sunset on Lemmon mountain! Perfection. Food was average for the money.
We had the buffet - it was nice but not exciting - all the usual suspects, ie smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, toast, waffles. The view was lovely and the server was pleasant. If you order the buffet. You can request eggs anyway you want them vs what’s already there. It was pretty speedy, $50 for 2 for breakfast. FYI, if you order off the menu, the prices are steep so the buffet sounds like a deal.
If you’re in Tucson and want to go to a nice resort for dinner this is a good spot. Very loud.
We went to Azul for Valentine's Day and had their 3 course dinner. The first course was a potato artichoke veloute which was very tasty. For the main course, I had pan roasted scallops which were excellent. My wife had prime New York steak which was cooked perfectly. We had the wine parings, which were also fine. Dessert was a raspberry mousse torte which was delicious. The service was attentive and the dinner was very enjoyable. The restaurant is in the La Paloma hotel, down some stairs from the main lobby, about what you would expect for a good hotel restaurant. The noise level was fine.
Sorry, not a good experience. When your asked if you would like something and then they return after 10 to 15 minutes each time it gets annoying. Also the courses were pushed on us without the one we were on complete. Not what we expected at that price as compared to other establishments we've visited nearby, nor does that happen at lower cost restaurants. I still tipped well as I can't blame the servers, but the management definitely for poor training. We didn't feel special at all, especially for it being valentines day and we purchased the top of the line special meals.
We enjoyed the lovely Valentine's dinner. It was 3 courses with wine pairings. It began with a complimentary glass of champagne. The food was excellent. The service was great. The chef visited tableside. Delicious and reasonably priced.
I was looking for a white tablecloth restaurant for brunch for my husband's birthday. The pictures on your website showed white tablecloths, which I did not get. In reality, the restaurant looks like a cafe. The breakfast buffet is nothing exceptional. The scrambled eggs were delicious; the salmon had no taste. This may be a famous resort, but I will not be dining here again.
