The menu offers selections combining the rich, creamy sauces and hearty meats of Brescia with the fresh seafood and the delicate fruits and vegetables of Amalfi. Once inside, an 18-foot, gently curving mahogany ceiling serves as the blossom connecting the fine woodcarving of the front and side dining rooms and bar area. Georgia O'Keeffe's flower series surrounds guests as they choose from Azalea's distinctive menu and extensive wine list.

The service was very good but the food ,while good , was not enough to make me want to come back again🙁
Amazing cozy high end atmosphere, yet reasonably priced!
This is my third or fourth time at Azalea restaurant. I am frequently in Manhattan and usually eat at whatever restaurant is nearby. Azaleas has consistently been my personal pick for a full five star rating each time I’ve eaten there and I have never given is that rating to any other restaurant in New York City
Their food is well prepared , not overly pricey, and their service is absolutely top-notch.
Their are wines are excellent and their ambience is comfortable/casual.
I look forward to dining there again in the near future
Fantastic food & service. Beautiful inside and top service from entire staff!
We enjoyed a great pre-theater lunch at Azalea. Although it's a bit north of Times Square, it is very close to Wicked, The Cher Show and Mean Girls.
The service was very friendly and efficient. We were made to feel welcome the minute we arrived. The tables aren't too close together so the noise level is fairly quiet. The restaurant is pretty - very open, modern and bright with Georgia O'Keefe prints on the walls.
The menu is Italian with a nice selection of salads, pasta and meat/fish dishes. We tried Caesar salad , spaghetti with meatballs, gnocchi and grilled chicken. All were delicious!
I would recommend Azalea and hope to return soon!
We went for a quick bite before seeing Wicked. Food was okay. Service was okay. It was too brightly lit and much louder than you’d imagine for how full it was. I doubt I’d return — it was pricey for the “just okay” food, service and atmosphere. Guess you pay for the convenience of being theatre adjacent.
Great place before going to see Wicked. Right next door. Very cozy
My four friends and I had early reservations. Service was slow. Three of us had heartburn after the meal. The salmon was not cooked to order, had to be sent back. Restaurant did give us 1 free dessert for the invonvenience.
For some reason there heater was not working so made for a quick meal
Great location next to Gershwin Theatre. Wonderful service. Only suggestion would be to expand the menu.
I always come here when I visit Manhattan for the Bolognese. My wife had rack of lamb. Everything was perfect as always.
I picked the restaurant because it was next to the Wicked musical. Right around the corner. Restaurant was sophisticated. Food was okay. Service was not so good. Waiter didn’t realw
We had a wonderful pre theater dinner
Great little spot for pre theatre. Good food, easy, and nice service
Great place if you are there to go to the theater! We have been here now several times and enjoyed it each time. Food is wonderful! Our server was great except he never offered coffee until all was said and done- oh well.
I had reviewed the menu on open table and it looked great. Many different items to choose from. However when I was there the menu was very limited and not real creative. Staff was friendly and attentive but probably not a repeat for me as NY has to many outstanding restaurants to settle for very average.
Great meal, staff were very solicitous, accommodating every request, and meal was served in a timely fashion. Excellent menu selection.
Stumbled upon this restaurant last minute because we got unexpected theatre tickets and I used reviews to assist my choice. Wow! I was very impressed. FIrst of all, I loved the quietness and the layout. We had a wonderful window table with absolutely terrific service. Our waiter was very attentive and explained the specials and answered any questions. Every meal that I saw being served made my mouth water and I can not wait to go back and order the shrimp dish. I had grilled salmon and it was cooked perfectly and the sides were perfect for me. I am unable to eat certain foods and what lured me to this restaurant was that several entrees were prepared grilled without spicy sauces. THe pasta choices were plentiful and the soup was delicious....minestrone, filled with lots of veggies, and a nice big bowl. I have already told friends about this place and I can not wait to return. THank you.
Perfect for after a show!
It was a nice place to eat before the show Wicked. The food was good, recommend the lamb. The staff was great with the service and fast.
Food was amazing. I would definitely come back!
were a little early for our reservation but were seated right away. Cocktails and apps were as expected. We had the butternut ravioli, lasagna, gnocchi and shrimp special. All were excellent. A round a desserts made for a great meal. Just far enough for a nice walk before and after. Wanted some place I hadn't been before so I checked the reviews on Trip advisor. Solid choice all the way around. Would go again
One of our favorites - we go here every time we go to NYC. Highly recommend any risotto dish they offer, while my vegetarian daughter loves the spaghetti. Good selection of Italian wines and excellent desserts.
Delicious food, good atmosphere, and outstanding service. Closed to major shows in the theatre district (Wicked, Mean Girls, The Cher Show, etc.). Highly recommend.
Great food, service and ideal pre dinner for theater.
This is a lovely restaurant and the food is terrific but it is overpriced. I would not choose to go there again.
Found this on Open Table and took a chance. The wine and food was delicious. It was a bit noisy, but it didn't cause any issues. The restaurant was decorated so nicely, the wait staff attentive. For Manhattan, the prices were great.
I selected Azalea because of its menu on-line which contained several of my favorite dishes and was quite extensive. However, the menu in the restaurant was completely different and very limited. When I questioned the waiter, he said they have not been able to update their menu through Google. I feel they totally misrepresented what they are serving. Unless you want basic, boring Italian food, I would not recommend Azalea.
Food was excellent. Had the special with a wild boar sauce over fettuccini. Only complaint was not getting bread until very late in the meal. In fact, two had finished dinner and we asked twice for some bread before we finally got some. Was not busy, so workload wasn’t the issue. At any rate I recommend it.
Azalea is a solid choice for Italian food, especially if you are in the theater district and want to eat before a show. All of the dishes were enjoyable though none were memorable. It's bit on the high priced for the quality but that's probably because it's smack in the tourist zone. The restaurant is small but comfortable and they did a nice job at sitting our group of 8 in a corner of the restaurant.
A gem in the theater district where most restaurants have "tourist" menus and rush you in and out. Wonderful food and wonderful wait staff. Highly recommend and will definitely go back again and again.
My 59th birthday before going to see Wicked. Perfect choice!!
We had a very nice experience at Azalea. We were a party of 7, with guests from abroad. The food was very good (maybe a little pricey) and the service was also good and courteous.
While the food was delicious; the service was fair to poor for the price point. The waiter tried to read us the specials for the evening before we all sat down; then we had to ask if we could order drinks first. When the waiter returned to take our orders we had to remind him he failed to provide us menus. Based on the size of our party (9) they up charged us on the wine... $120 a bottle was double what I ordered-shame on me for not comparing the label. Bruschetta was yummy, but only two per order was expensive. Had to ask for dessert and coffee. A mandatory tip of $145+ was the icing on the evening. Probably will not return for a large party - they obviously can’t handle the larger parties.
Very enjoyable meal. Food was fantastic and great service too. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a restaurant before or after Broadway show.
We had tickets to Wicked for two oclock on a Sunday. We wanted to stay close to the theater but have a really nice lunch. We could not have asked for a better place. The food was delicious from appetizers to desserts. The service was incredible - polite, timely, informative. We will be back and we will suggest Azalea to all friends visiting NYC and the theater district.
Dinner and then a show. Dinner was good and we were met with a friendly staff. Our waiter was wonderful, food was good but not memorable
We have wanting to try and I’m glad we did. The lasagna and gnocchi are a must!
We had appetizer specials and the risotto that were delicious.
The service was great.
The only positive thing going for this restaurant is that it is next to the Gershwin theatre.
Food was mediocre to bad.
Service was from extremely slow to worse.
Cannot recommend this place unless you have a performance to attend at 7 PM next door and want to get a bite before.
Restaurant is in close proximity to some Broadway theaters; which is a plus. Food was okay, as was the service. One of my pet peeves at restaurants is when the bread is not warmed when it comes to the table; which is how it was served here. How hard can that be?
