The menu offers selections combining the rich, creamy sauces and hearty meats of Brescia with the fresh seafood and the delicate fruits and vegetables of Amalfi. Once inside, an 18-foot, gently curving mahogany ceiling serves as the blossom connecting the fine woodcarving of the front and side dining rooms and bar area. Georgia O'Keeffe's flower series surrounds guests as they choose from Azalea's distinctive menu and extensive wine list.
Azalea strives to be a place where extraordinary food meets exceptional service in a warm, comfortable setting.

I found this restaurant via Open Table and booked based on the great reviews. We were not disappointed. The staff was very gracious as we had a large group and I needed to change our numbers twice. They provided us our our section, which was very much appreciated by our team. The servers were friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their food and we never felt rushed. Desserts were particularly yummy! This is a great find!
Food taste good, but portion is s all. The bus boy was not happy there.
We stayed near this place several times and de dicided to try it, and we’re glad we did. The service was very good and I loved my risotto. My husband had the penne pasta with Salmon and he liked his too. Glad we stopped here.
Great restaurant and very good food. The meatball was very good and the veal too.
Everything is excellent, the food, the ambiance and the staff. We found this place by accident and now come every time we visit the city.
Very good food. Absolutely great service. Very attentive.
What a delight! Went for business lunch during a convention nearby. Very quiet on a Monday for lunch. The food -delicious. The menu -- nicely varied. Several of their pastas are made by hand, their dishes were really nice. The service was very good. I liked it so much I tried to reserve for a dinner later that week. Come here if you can - I will be going back again for sure. (And keep in mind the way I now rate is 5 star only for really exceptional rare experiences, so 4 Star from me is as high as most establishments)
Y girlfriends and I had a wonderful experience at Azalea. The food and service was excellent. The Italian martini is made perfectly. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. We didn’t feel rushed. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Had reservations for 8pm, but stopped in at 6:45 and they were able to accommodate us even though they were very busy pre-theatre. Food excellent. Salmon delicious. Bread not so great (I am picky about having really good crusty bread) but that was minor. Grilled salmon, asked for well done, and it was perfectly crisp on outside, moist inside. Service good. Husband didn’t like caprese salad as much as other places, but had good rigatoni dish. Very small, crowded tables, but typical NY restaurant. Would recommend.
Made the theatre
Nothing special about the food but the people were nice. Food was bland.
Good service. Food was very good. Risotto was very flavorful but just a little under cooked. Bread was excellent. Branzino was excellent. Cooked appropriately and well seasoned.
Excellent food and romantic. Loved it and will return
The chop was my choice
I was staying in midtown for a business trip and looking for Italian restaurants within walking distance. There were 6 of us in our party and everyone loved their food and enjoyed the restaurant. They also offered great gluten free pasta options for one of our guests. Our waiter, John was very friendly and the service was great.
Good food and great service directly next door to the Gershwin Theatre. The staff was friendly and courteous. They made sure we were out in enough time to get to the theatre for 'Wicked'. Only 1 gluten-free option was available on the menu.
Great service. Great food. Our go to place in the city.
My first time there,,,,but will not be my last!! Very convenient,,,,,friendly staff,,,,,good food and service! Being from a small town , it is a bit of sticker shock,,,,but hey,,,it is the city,,,,,,,everything is more expensive!
Great service, good food, close to theaters, not pricey. I will return.
A great new find! Excellent food and you can actually have a conversation and be heard. We are Manhattanites who definitely be back!
From appetizer to dessert all 4 of enjoyed the meal!
The appetizers and filet were very good. My ribeye was a little underdone and came out somewhat room temp but for the most part it was a great meal. Get the meatball.
Great food, nice staff and great location for nearby theaters. Will return.
In the city to see jersey boys.
This was my first time dining at Azalea. It was perfect; close to the theater district, very comfortable atmosphere and the food was just delicious.
Great dinner before a show!
This was our second visit, and it was just as enjoyable as our first. My wife had the veal, while I had the crab salad. Everything was perfection! My very particular spouse said that the creme brulee was the best she'd ever had - and I'd say the same for the chocolate ice cream I enjoyed. This restaurant is a gem, and we'll be back.
The food was delicious, a surprize because I only picked it for its proximity to the Wintergarden Theater. Staff was solicitous and friendly. The ambience was upscale because of great cocktails, well presented food and large glass windows looking out onto the street - great for people watching.
Pasta dish was true Italian al dente, but nothing really stood out as amazing. Food was good, but not out of this world amazing, had better back home in North End, Boston MA. Waitstaff was nice, but not friendly – tried to have a conversation with the guy, but he was pretty dry. Awesome that is was next door to the Gershwin Theatre, kudos to that. Expected more for 4 stars.
Melted Parmesan appetizer was delicious. The shrimp gamberoni was also very good. The penne bolognese was OK but not much meat with a bland taste. Service was good!
Where in NYC after seeing a play can you enjoy a fantastic dinner over a two hour period because you explained that your bus was not leaving and it was a really cold Fall day? That would be Azalea! Fantastic food and the service was unparalleled.
Delicious and friendly! Second time there. Definitely recommend!
Great place for business lunch and family gathering
A light dinner before theater was perfect. We were late for our reservations and they were very gracious about it and waited on us promptly. Would go again and would recommend.
Service was very good, food delicious (gnocchi was so light and airy, really good)
We went pre theater and it was a great choice!
Great food , service and ambience...WILL eat there again
First time here. Will definitely be back. Delicious veal piccata with yummy mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked broccoli, still crunchy. Granddaughter had rigatoni bolognese and said it was great. Shared a scrumptious warm chocolate cake for dessert. A wonderful pre-theatre spot.
Pricey for out of towners but we'll worth it for a celebratory occasion. Excellent all the way around.
Been here a few times before a show. Food and service always terrific!
went to azaleas after a show...so convenient ...we made a last minute reservation on open table and walked in and sat down ....service was excellent, as was the food... our waiter was terrific and support staff was equally attentive to everything... water, coffee, bread, whatever...they had a sense of humor as well...we walked out well-fed and happy.... would definitely go there again.
Very disappointing. Tasteless, premade food. Tourist trap at it finest. I don’t know how this place got such good reviews. If you have even had authentic Italian food or even good food, you would know this place was crap. We got a drink and two pasta meals and paid $85. I was literally sick my food was so bad. The bread even tasted terrible. We made a reservation for after wicked and they sat us in my worst seat in the middle of the dinning room. The wait staff kept bumping into us and I even got dripped on. I love long romantic dinners, but we were in and out in 30 minutes. Real food should take way more than 10 minutes to make. Please don’t waste your money here!!!!
Had a delicious lunch before seeing Wicked. Very convenient location for the theater. Service was excellent. We had the pear and Gorgonzola soufflé and the butternut squash ravioli, both were delicious.
