Ayse Meze Lounge
I was disappointed in the falafel. It was hard snd thin. All of our orders came out at different times.
Tables too crowded together
So noisy I could not hear my table
Food was brought out so staggered it was hard to eat together
This restaurant has gone entirely downhill, it used to have fresh, tasty, textured dishes. Now all the food we had was excessively greasy---except for the broiled fish, which was very good. But all the vegys are swimming in oil. They absolutely ruined the signature brussel sprout dish, it didn't even seem deep fried, it seemed like sauted and no effort to keep the grease out then they have ruined the sauce by excessively sweentening it. I will not go back...same thing happened to the owner's other restaurant Isabellas---once they got popular things got very bad. Prioritize the experience over greed and neglect..that would be my advice.
We had a great time on New Year's Eve. Keep the fantastic vegan options. Thank you!
Great New Years Eve dinner. This was our second time having our NYE dinner at Ayse. The service was very slow in the beginning, but the food and drinks were wonderful. The server was also great, just a slow start. We like the food there, it is consistently good.
New Year’s Eve.
Our server, Alex was great! Very attentive and friendly, as well as knowledgeable of menu and ingredients.
This was our 3rd Christmas Eve dinner at Ayse Meze. We enjoy the casual atmosphere and tasty menu.
Seated in a cramped space despite there being lots of space in the dining area and more open tables near the windows. Stuffed eggplant does not present very well, Brussel sprouts very oily compared to normal. Lamb chops and steak were excellent.
The food here is always amazing. Because our appetizer was so delayed in coming, they gave us another dish (their amazing Brussels sprouts), which was lovely but I feel like we should have been consulted first. Otherwise, it was great, especially since it was Christmas Eve.
Had a wonderful experience. With great food and service.
We have been fans of this restaurant for years. When our brother in law visits from LA we always make the hour drive to eat at Ayse. However, this year we were disappointed to find that the menu had been altered considerably and the options available no longer held the appeal that the previous menu offered.
Further, the food was good, but nothing was outstanding or remarkable. Given that we'd been fans for years and found the food and selections to be excellent, it is with regret that we will take the restaurant off of our 'worth the drive' list for now.
Here is hoping that there is a return to the quality this restaurant is capable of producing.
Great food, great staff, will definitely go again.
This place is absolutely delicious! From the food to the service, our meal was top notch.
Comfortable, nice selection of great food
Very loud, server overwhelmed, took a long time to get any orders in and even to get drinks. That said, he maintained a cheerful attitude and accommodated food allergy/order change with grace. The food is exceptional and server did a good job explaining/recommending and giving us a good idea on quantities of food on small plates. Sea scallops, shrimp excellent. Fried chicken might be the best chicken I've ever had, the spinach pie certainly is. We also loved the brussel sprouts. For dessert, recommended by server, the Chocolate Budino, was heavenly.
Wide selection of authentic and interesting offerings. Ancestral tradition is so appreciated. Enjoyable environment, tastefully done. We'll be back.
Enjoyed Sunday Brunch with my husband and another couple. I and hubby ordered off the menu while the couple had the brunch. They each got the made-to-order eggs benedict and devoured it. He also ordered the red lentil soup and was sad when he reached the bottom of the bowl. Both hubby and I had the Moussaka which was a deliciously huge portion. I took half home. I also had a side Greek salad, loaded with a variety of greens, red onion, chopped black olives, feta, tomatoes and cucumbers, topped with a tasty vinaigrette. The wait-staff was very pleasant, had good knowledge of the dishes, and was professional. Even the special request I put in ahead of time was remembered, which I appreciated very much. Great food, great atmosphere. Parking was also easy.
Extremely nice, an atmosphere, truly magical. My family and I were very satisfied with the food and the facilities but the attention ... the best.
Excellent Greek food, with a great assortment of small plate options and outstanding moussaka. I wish we lived in the area because we would be frequent patrons!
Ayse never disappoints. We ate dinner on the early-side so pretty quiet. Delicious food. Very good service.
Disappointed in the size of some of the appetizers and that our dinners were all served at Very different times instead of all together. Also our wine bottle that we ordered for dinner wasn’t available and the one we selected instead was delivered After we finished our meals... food was very tasty however and nice ambiance.
This is one of my favorite places in Frederick. I’ve tried different things every time I go and it is always fabulous. I highly recommend this place for dining.
I've been to Ayse too many times to count! From birthdays to date nights to take out they never disappoint. I love their staple menu as well as being surprised by their weekly/daily specials. Happy Hour is a great value! Will be back soon!
Great meal and every time I go There I always say I need to come back more frequently. Great service, great menu, just great!
This was a most welcome discovery! Food and ambience are great!!
Ayse has amazing food. I would recommend getting the red snapper if they have it on the specials. It was AMAZING. The pita bread is very fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
It was my first time there and didn’t really have any expectations going in. Food was good as was the service, but our table was really small and after ordering a few of the small plates, we had little to no room. Besides that, I was very happy with the experience.
We had a great spot next to the fireplace. This is one of our favorite date spots.
We had so much fun eating at AYSE. The food, service and ambiance is always wonderful.
We love eating here. Plenty of vegan options.
Never disappoints. Though my absolutely un-Meditaran Hamburger Melt was wonderful. Who knew?
The hostesses are excellent and accomodating whenever able depending on how full the restaurant is. The food is excellent amd comes out as it is ready which means hot items are actually hot.
I'm a frequent customer at Ayse, but this visit may be our last one. I service was beyond poor - waiting for 10 minutes after being seated for anyone to check on us, food came before our drinks came, the wrong mezze came to our table more than once, no one checked on us to see how things were.
As always, delicious food and great service. We live the specialty cocktails.
We went there on a busy Saturday night, and there was a large wedding party in an adjacent room so the service was sometimes a little frenetic but it was certainly acceptable and understandable.
My meal was great, I love Greek food. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignin but it was not what we were expecting at all, it was just like a normal steak. So I recommend on the menu it say steak.
The service, provided by our server, Glen, was beyond exceptional. The service equivalent of eating in a Michelin-starred restaurant in France. But the execution of familiar Middle Eastern food was extremely disappointing. Even the hummus was a disappointment. "Cigars" filled with the most bland, cheapest ingredients. No evidence of the spices that make Middle Eastern dining interesting. Everything put through a blender, so that dishes had a very displeasing texture. The setting, the service, etc. all get excellent marks...but a chef with real experience in Middle Eastern cooking must be hired to redo the entire menu.
Worst service I’ve had in a restaurant in probably 20 years. Very nice server, she just never came back. Had to ask repeatedly other employees to get her to come back. Even then sometimes she wouldn’t. Food was great. Dining experience was not.
A favorite spot to celebrate a birthday - brunch is delicious.
