Always outstanding. Clearly one of the best restaurants in Frederick. Staff is attentive and helpful. Would go there any time. Sunday brunch is a special treat.
Went for a girls' night out and had a total blast. Their handmade cocktails were great. I would highly recommend this spot for any occasion. Can't wait to go to their Sunday brunch, which sounds super!
This was our 2nd visit. We loved everything we ordered. we had kebabs and salad and other stuff I can't remember their names. We will definitely be back and have already told friends about this place.
We always love dining at AYSE. We love the Greek and Turkish dishes. We tried the calamari for the first time and it was without a doubt the best we have ever tasted! Our server Colin was outstanding--friendly, courteous and efficient. We look forward to returning in the near future.
Wonderful dinner, great food, service and awesome table! Requested a nice table and we were seated in a comfortable nook at a special table! Food was delicious, we tried many dishes and all were fabulous.
Dining and social experience exceeded expectations! Food was excellent; service exceptional; and the dining environment fantastic! Will definitely dine there again!
I really wanted to like this restaurant because I love dining downtown. I have to honest , this place needs to improve the ambiance to compete. Table for two way too small to accommodate a tapas meal. Also, tables are so close together that one cant help but feel one is party to the conversation at adjacent tables. That said, the food is tasty and varied. The tapas portions are mostly small, which is alright but for the prices each cost I expected a much bigger serving.
Our favorite place in Frederick! As vegetarians, it's a struggle to find restaurants with any good options, let alone LOTS of great options. We make it a point to stop and eat here whenever we're in the area - it's wonderful!
An excellent go-to spot in Frederick. The food never disappoints. A little pricey but worth coming back to explore more of the menu.
The food is amazing, we sat outside on the patio and it was beautiful weather.
The only problem we have is we want to order everything on the menu.
Spanikopita was the best i've ever had, moussaka delicious, falafels outstanding. The only problem was the noise level was very loud, but they have many different rooms that probably weren't as loud.
Always incredible food & Service!! Loved our waiter Cameron - he was an excellent server & very attentive to our group.
Always great. Laura was wonderful and the Monocacy Jazz Quartet sounded great!
Delicious as always! Ayse is a favorite go to restaurant, never disappoints. Highly recommend the spread sampler, the Brussel sprouts and the ada a kebob... But you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Delicious food options for both carnivores and vegetarians. Disappointed that the "enginar" had only 1 artichoke. Did not meet description on the menu (ie, not plural). Service was fine, as it was a very busy Saturday night. We would definitely return.
Pricy and the service was less than exceptional. Our server was rushed off her feet and the kitchen appeard to be struggling. Getting the food to the table was also a challenge. The food was good, pricy, but good.
We ordered several Tapas style dishes wish came to us at different times, which was fine as we talked. But everyone in the group ordered a large plate dish for the main course. We got there a 6:30 at 7:30 they brought one main course dinner for our party of four, 30 minutes later they brought the second dinner plate and then 15 minutes later the third and 20 minutes after that the last main dinner. So the first person would have had to wait 1 hour for the last person to get their dish. The only thing the waitress said was this is how Meze dinners are served. "Bull S@%t"
Love this restaurant for the delicious small plates and excellent service. Dining outside on the patio is always a treat in nice weather!!!!!
Ayse is our go to place when we are in the Frederick area. Always excellent food and service. Love the small plates so you can share.
Dishes were good but not great. Personally thought most of the 6 courses we had lacked flavor except for the over salting. Very nice hidden place. Very nice seating. Off street parking. Perfect for a first date.
Knowing Nezih Pistar personally, my review will tend to be biased but we have been dining at Ayse for a number of years and we always love the food. It truly is expertly prepared and, featuring cuisine from an Eastern Mediterranean vantage point, everyone should give it a try. If conditions are right, dining outside is also a great experience. One caveat...be sure to check to see if some kind of activity is planned for the outdoor area (music, dance, etc.). We recently dined on a Wednesday evening and there happened to be a band performing outside and it was...quite loud. The type of music that was being played just didn't seem to fit the restaurant and conversation inside the restaurant was almost impossible. One last piece of trivia...Ayse is located within walls that were once a part of a manufacturing company with the name of "Eveready Company", a company started by my grandfather (William Lebherz, Sr.) and Robert and Harry Lebherz. As a child, I used to ride my bike down there and talk with the workman during their lunch break. Who knew that 60 years later, it would become a restaurant! But, as this review attests, not JUST a restaurant but a very top notch restaurant. Enjoy!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal - several very unique dishes, with some new tastes. Highly recommend.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! This place is not only adorable but delicious. We have the flamming cheese, brussel sprouts, crab pide, and greek salad. Everything was amazing. If you are looking for a fun place for girls night out or date night their dining room is perfect. Can't wait to go back!!!!
I had a lovely lunch here. I liked the outdoor seating only they were doing a bit of work, so that was distracting but I’m sure will be done with at some point. I will look for an occasion to go back and bring more friends.
Once again the experience at Ayse was outstanding. My daughter and her fiancé were in town and this was an opportunity for them to experience new dishes.
I want to comment particularly on our server. She was cheerful, attractive, and attentive. She addd greatly to the meals. Unfortunately, I do not remember her name.
I recommend Ayse to my friends
Wonderful evening on the patio. Favorite place in Frederick to eat outside. Loved the sangria!
Great food and excellent service in a very pleasant dining room.
Introduced friends from Baltimore to Ayse Meze. They loved it as much as we do.
Always delicious and the service is excellent
Absolutely wonderful food, service, and ambiance!!
The food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic at an awesome price.
Great food. The wait staff was very attentive. Good lunch deals.
I've dined at Ayse Meze numerous times and have always had a very good experience. Above all, the food here shines. It's an eclectic blend of Greek, Turkish and Lebanese fare. Meze = small plates for sharing--a la the more familiar tapas. We started in the bar, which was lively for a Wednesday evening. A solo acoustic guitarist/vocalist serenaded us with folksy background music--a nice touch. The Happy Hour menu is excellent, with good food offerings at reasonable prices. We just had drinks, however, before moving to the dining room for dinner. First we shared a wonderful sampler of six spreads, including chickpea hummus, babaganoush, tzatziki, a spread featuring olives (not really tapenade), and a couple of spicy and very delicious concoctions with feta, garlic, bell pepper, nuts, pomegranate... Served with fresh, warm pita, this sampler is a must! Next we shared a tasty, roasted shrimp dish with tomatoes, feta and oregano. Lastly, we had mushrooms sautéed with almonds, dates, oregano and brandy. More warm pita bread. Fantastic! Service was excellent. The ambiance was warm, casual and cozy. Ayse Meze is one of downtown Frederick's many neighborhood gems. Looking forward to my next visit.
What a terrific restaurant! Great for mezze/tapas/small plates that are fit to be shared around the table. The food is delicious and far from the ordinary. The Mediterranean flavors are amazing. When you go, get the brussels sprouts, beet salad, scallops and just about anything else on the menu. We live 25 miles away but go there whenever we can.
We had a great time as we always do.
I woke up on Father's day to find they had cancelled my reservation so we went elsewhere. Very disappointed. It used to by my favorite place -- now I am re-thinking that.
We had a wonderful lunchtime experience. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly
We had the perfect Father’s Day on the patio! Thank you
