We love eating here. Plenty of vegan options.
Never disappoints. Though my absolutely un-Meditaran Hamburger Melt was wonderful. Who knew?
The hostesses are excellent and accomodating whenever able depending on how full the restaurant is. The food is excellent amd comes out as it is ready which means hot items are actually hot.
I'm a frequent customer at Ayse, but this visit may be our last one. I service was beyond poor - waiting for 10 minutes after being seated for anyone to check on us, food came before our drinks came, the wrong mezze came to our table more than once, no one checked on us to see how things were.
As always, delicious food and great service. We live the specialty cocktails.
We went there on a busy Saturday night, and there was a large wedding party in an adjacent room so the service was sometimes a little frenetic but it was certainly acceptable and understandable.
My meal was great, I love Greek food. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignin but it was not what we were expecting at all, it was just like a normal steak. So I recommend on the menu it say steak.
The service, provided by our server, Glen, was beyond exceptional. The service equivalent of eating in a Michelin-starred restaurant in France. But the execution of familiar Middle Eastern food was extremely disappointing. Even the hummus was a disappointment. "Cigars" filled with the most bland, cheapest ingredients. No evidence of the spices that make Middle Eastern dining interesting. Everything put through a blender, so that dishes had a very displeasing texture. The setting, the service, etc. all get excellent marks...but a chef with real experience in Middle Eastern cooking must be hired to redo the entire menu.
Worst service I’ve had in a restaurant in probably 20 years. Very nice server, she just never came back. Had to ask repeatedly other employees to get her to come back. Even then sometimes she wouldn’t. Food was great. Dining experience was not.
A favorite spot to celebrate a birthday - brunch is delicious.
Awesome as always! Ayse is our go-to celebration restaurant!
Excellent small plate options of Mediterranean cuisine. Great for sharing around the table.
The service, from the bartender, to the waitress, to the manager, was outstanding. It was a busy Friday evening, but the staff coped pretty well eventhough they were obviously slammed. The food was very good, though my husband had one dish he didn't really like (he ate it though!).
Disappointed. Ayse is beautiful. Service was excellent. Food was beautifully presented, but, lacking in taste and texture. Kibbe mushy in center, falafel too crisp and tasteless, hummus texture of cement,AND lacking in flavor , beet salad just ok, moussaka tasty. Cocktail was delicious.
Wouldn’t return for the food.
The food was very good, the atmosphere was excellent and the service was solid!
We made a reservation requesting a cozy spot, but the hostess placed us at a table without any comfy cute features that many of the tables have (pillows and benches) and in an area of high traffic from wait staff and right beside a large group celebrating a birthday. When we asked if we could have an outdoor table instead, she stated that they "got busy " and there are no other tables left that are cozy or outdoors. I guess making a reservation for a special romantic table was not important to the hostess that evening. The food was good and was reasonably priced.
Great dining experience for my girlfriend’s birthday. Anastatia was an excellent server; full of energy and just a very nice person! Food was delicious as always and served very quickly!
Great restaurant! Staff was friendly, attentive and experienced.
One of my favorite restaurants. Seemed waitress forgot about us a few times even though it wasn’t crowded. I brought my in-laws for the first time and would have liked better busing between meals and staying on top of water. First time I’ve had a slow waitress. Usually much better service. Food is always amazing. Have never had a bad meal.
Always outstanding. Clearly one of the best restaurants in Frederick. Staff is attentive and helpful. Would go there any time. Sunday brunch is a special treat.
We love tappas and I really wanted to like this place more than I did. First of all, the service that night was incredibly slow. However, the server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options and the nature of the cuisine that was being served.
But when I finally did get my glass of wine - it had a hair in it. I sent it back but geez - how aboout comping me on the glass of wine? It's really creepy to see other people's hairs on your food or drink.
The food was good but it wasn't fabulous and I really wanted it to be so. We will probably try it again on a future trip, but the food could not compare to Isabella's and the prices were higher.
Went for a girls' night out and had a total blast. Their handmade cocktails were great. I would highly recommend this spot for any occasion. Can't wait to go to their Sunday brunch, which sounds super!
This was our 2nd visit. We loved everything we ordered. we had kebabs and salad and other stuff I can't remember their names. We will definitely be back and have already told friends about this place.
We always love dining at AYSE. We love the Greek and Turkish dishes. We tried the calamari for the first time and it was without a doubt the best we have ever tasted! Our server Colin was outstanding--friendly, courteous and efficient. We look forward to returning in the near future.
Wonderful dinner, great food, service and awesome table! Requested a nice table and we were seated in a comfortable nook at a special table! Food was delicious, we tried many dishes and all were fabulous.
Dining and social experience exceeded expectations! Food was excellent; service exceptional; and the dining environment fantastic! Will definitely dine there again!
I really wanted to like this restaurant because I love dining downtown. I have to honest , this place needs to improve the ambiance to compete. Table for two way too small to accommodate a tapas meal. Also, tables are so close together that one cant help but feel one is party to the conversation at adjacent tables. That said, the food is tasty and varied. The tapas portions are mostly small, which is alright but for the prices each cost I expected a much bigger serving.
Our favorite place in Frederick! As vegetarians, it's a struggle to find restaurants with any good options, let alone LOTS of great options. We make it a point to stop and eat here whenever we're in the area - it's wonderful!
An excellent go-to spot in Frederick. The food never disappoints. A little pricey but worth coming back to explore more of the menu.
The food is amazing, we sat outside on the patio and it was beautiful weather.
The only problem we have is we want to order everything on the menu.
Spanikopita was the best i've ever had, moussaka delicious, falafels outstanding. The only problem was the noise level was very loud, but they have many different rooms that probably weren't as loud.
Always incredible food & Service!! Loved our waiter Cameron - he was an excellent server & very attentive to our group.
Always great. Laura was wonderful and the Monocacy Jazz Quartet sounded great!
Delicious as always! Ayse is a favorite go to restaurant, never disappoints. Highly recommend the spread sampler, the Brussel sprouts and the ada a kebob... But you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Delicious food options for both carnivores and vegetarians. Disappointed that the "enginar" had only 1 artichoke. Did not meet description on the menu (ie, not plural). Service was fine, as it was a very busy Saturday night. We would definitely return.
Pricy and the service was less than exceptional. Our server was rushed off her feet and the kitchen appeard to be struggling. Getting the food to the table was also a challenge. The food was good, pricy, but good.
We ordered several Tapas style dishes wish came to us at different times, which was fine as we talked. But everyone in the group ordered a large plate dish for the main course. We got there a 6:30 at 7:30 they brought one main course dinner for our party of four, 30 minutes later they brought the second dinner plate and then 15 minutes later the third and 20 minutes after that the last main dinner. So the first person would have had to wait 1 hour for the last person to get their dish. The only thing the waitress said was this is how Meze dinners are served. "Bull S@%t"
Love this restaurant for the delicious small plates and excellent service. Dining outside on the patio is always a treat in nice weather!!!!!
