Ayse Meze Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Saturday I had a special event at Ayse! Our waitress (Chloe) was phenomenal and made sure everything was taken care of. I reserved a specific table, and when we walked in everything was already set-up and ready for us. The chef also sent out a special dessert, and wrote a congratulatory message to us. Everyone in our group was so impressed with the food and service.
Our server made excellent suggestions. Lots of vegetarian options and cautions about things made with chicken stock was really helpful. Everything was fresh and delicious. Drinks are nice and ample size. Some shared options may mean only one bite per person - so be sure to ask.
WOW. This place was phenomenal. Our Waitress, Sage, was kind and quick to offer helpful suggestions. She was engaging, asking us questions about our taste preferences when we seemed overwhelmed by the menu and offered personal insight regarding the menu where appropriate.
We had the Brussels sprouts (I want to go swimming in a pool filled with this dish), zucchini fritters, seasoned beef flatbread, sausage with peppers/onions, Dolmades, and of course their pita bread with olive oil. Every one of these dishes had us doing the happy dance as we chewed.
I was legitimately sad that I was too full to order anything else.
We also ordered their Raki black, an Anise Liqueur served with Ice and Water for you to dilute to your preference at the table. Went extremely well with the food and was pretty smooth.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience, with amazing food at a decent price. For me, the environment was more casual in the bar area, and more up my alley honestly. They also have a quieter dining area as well as a garden area to enjoy your meal. Obviously a matter of preference, but it was great that they can cater to all these preferences without taking anything away from the experience.
LOVED IT. Hopefully you get Sage, she was amazing and made our experience THAT much better.
We were invited by our friends. Our friends frequent this restaurant a lot. We don't live in the area, so this was a treat. We had fun tasting the variety of food. Our husbands enjoyed the beer. We enjoyed the ambiance and the service was great. We had wonderful waiter that made sure our orders were correct and the bill did not get mixed up. It was a nice place to eat.
The food and service here were amazing. We sat on the patio for a birthday dinner, and did the meze style of sharing many different plates. It allowed us to try out 10 options, as well as 4 desserts, without overstuffing ourselves. Definitely would recommend
Wonderful first time experience. Our main server plus a second gave us information as to items on the menu and even a recipe for one very tasty starter. The portion size allows one to sample several different dishes. Everything was first class and reasonably priced. The guests thankfully came in either smart casual dress or business attire for midday lunch. The outside seating if you wish could better handle children although none were there. Parking in the rear was helpful.
As always, Ayse never disappointed us. It was our anniversary ,and owner and staff treated us like royalty. Chez Ric always showcase his talent with special dishes based on the freshest ingredients available. He can take the simple ingredients and turn them into a culinary delight. His duck dishes rival anything I've had in Europe. The Special cake they made for us was outstanding. I could go on and on but the best thing for anyone to do is to GO to Ayse. You won't be disappointed and like us you will become a regular.
Our third time to Ayse Meze, and always worth the 40 minute drive there. We get a selection of appetizers and order one at a time as they come out nice and hot and it extends a wonderful dining experience.
Our selection this time was Muhammara Dip with Pita bread, Turkish Cigars filled with Spiced Lamb, the most DELICIOUS brussels sprouts, Sucuk sausage with potato pancake and poached egg, Kibbi Kebab Kahn, Moussaka and for dessert homemade Pistachio ice cream (yes, I keep a list).
It's a lot of food, we leave STUFFED! With a beer and a wine and including the tip the meal is $105.00
The service at this restaurant is terrible -- the worst. I've been three times in the last year, each time hoping for a different experience. Each time disappointed. The servers are inattentive, slow, and poorly-trained. Part of that is certainly the fault of a badly run and overwhelmed kitchen. And you might even overlook consistently bad service in exchange for great food, but you won't find that here either. Not only are there better restaurants in Frederick, there are better Mediterranean restaurants in Frederick.
Excellent restaurant. Very inventive Turkish and Greek cuisine. All small plates, so you get to try a lot of different things. Highly recommend the spreads, the Turkish fingers, The pork belly, the chocolate mousse dessert and so much more. The saganaki (flaming cheese) was excellent.
I've been to Ayse Meze numerous times and have never been disappointed. In the past I've shared several meze dishes with my dining companion(s), and have enjoyed most dishes that I've tried. Tonight I wanted to try a different approach, so we shared a single appetizer and each ordered an entree. Score. We shared the grilled octopus appetizer and it was fabulous! I'm a huge fan of grilled octopus, and rarely pass it up if it's on the menu. Ayse Meze's version was excellent. For entrees we ordered the meatballs/potatoes/tzatziki and the spiced lamb kabob over rice dish. Absolutely delicious! Best tzatziki sauce I've had in memory. Service was very attentive and personable. Nice ambiance. Can't wait to go back.
