The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Kate took great care of us.
Great dining experience with delicious food
Really well prepared food. Great selection. Reasonable prices. Good drinks. Loved our server Cam. Too noisy for my taste but nothing’s perfect.
Wonderful evening great food with exciting flavors and presentation. Great service from Kelly. Disappointed that half the bar was closed off before and during happy hour. Made it tough for thirty people to squeeze in and be comfortable. My wife took a glass to her teeth from a woman trying to get by. Not well thought out by management. Future planning should permit happy hour tone extended to dining area when you restrict bar access. These are your regulars people don’t punish them.
Ayse was not up to its usual food and service last Saturday night. We were seated on time as per our reservation but service was unusually slow. They ran out of the wine we like and so we selected another that was nice enough. The normally delicious brussell sprouts tasted as if they were scraped off the bottom of the vat. This is normally a fabulous experience but something was off last weekend.
As usual, our meal was excellent. Service seemed slower than usual, and it seemed as though it wasn't just our server, it seemed to stem from the kitchen. As far as appetizers go, do NOT order the vegetable plate. For the second time, the vegetables were limp, old, cut carelessly, and my celery still had dirt on it. Our server took the order off our bill. The Friday night music was fantastic, a singer and a guitarist, she was amazing and the playlist was eclectic. All in all, a good time, despite the vegetables. Our favorites are the carrot fritters (to die for), and the "ravioli" (wow!)
This place was wonderful in every way - food, service, dining space, all. A new favorite. Will be back in nicer weather to check out the patio which looked lovely.
The Sunday buffet looked dried out and very unappealing so we ordered from the menu...the bronzino was excellent along with well-cooked vegetables and basmati rice...the Virgin Mary with Old Bay spicing was not good at all and the recipe should be changed.
We arrived early for our reservation, but it was a quiet week night and we were easily accommodated. And we stayed! I think my friend and I were the last guests. We enjoyed a bottle of half-price wine (the Sicilian Red Blend) that was a good table wine for everything we ordered and for sipping. Our choices included the chicken with pomegranate and jalapeño glaze, a pizza type pizza I can’t quite remember and can’t see on the website menu ( but I loved it), two types of flavored hummus spread, the gratis olive assortment, fresh pita, and another shared plate I can’t remember either. ( It’s either the fact dinner was three nights ago or that wine!). Ayse Meze continues to be a favorite of mine. Delicious food, attentive but not obnoxious staff, lovely decor, good value for price, easy parking. Etc. Love it.
We were seated right away. (had a reservation) the problem was we sat there for 23 minutes before being waited on..Had to go up to the reception desk to let them know..people all around except our server who was just coming on duty when we got there.. Once we got past all that, the food was delicious, the service once we got it was great...endless bread and this yummy sauce they use. yummmm I am sure it is fattening but I took a day off the diet... it was worth it.
we chose different things to taste and eat from all dishes. Left there very full and happy and I liked the ambiance of the place..
The combination of a brunch buffet and the meze menu was great for our family brunch allowing plenty of choices. Recommend it for brunch and dinner.
The food and service were, as always, phenomenal! Everything was perfect!
A truly remarkable place. Another reason to spend time in beautiful Frederick, MD. ab
I took out of town friends there for Sunday brunch and it was not a good experience. The brunch selection was minimal and some of the promised items missing. What Greek restaurant doesn't have any baklava and the cookies were stale so that left only small brownies for dessert selection. One of my guests and I ordered the eggs benedict from the server. I got mine but my friend waited at least 20 minutes for hers and only after we reminded the server she hadn't gotten it. Basically if you want eggs and sausage with fruit and a very few other things, you get that for $20/person. So disappointed in what used to be my go to restaurant whenever I have guests or to celebrate a special occasion. What has happened to the service and the food?
Generally reliable. Service was lacking - just perfunctory and rote in communicating. Not too responsive. Gigantes beans were disappointing. Zucchini cakes and keftedes were both excellent. Lamb souvlaki was good not great.
They were closed. No notice on their phone or website. I understand weather related issues, but at the very least put a notice up on the out going message for people that call or on your website. We patronize this establishment often, but this burns me.
Loved this meal. The Brussels Sprouts were the best I’ve ever had - amazing. The mushooms were a close second. Actually I loved all the things I tried which was a bit of everything in the menu (resulting an abundance of take home boxes :) ). Will definitely return if I’m ever in the area again. Will recommend highly!
One of my Favorite restaurants in downtown Frederick!
Slow service, staff seemed overwhelmed with party going on in 2nd room
Hour before appetizers came out followed immediately by our meals
Food was good
The seating was not optimum - and the noise was too much off and on.
The food was very good and so was the service
Fabulous restaurant! Wonderful for any occasion!
Food tasted fresh. The service was great. Would definitely recommend.
Restaurant week menu was delicious. Keftedes, crispy brussel sprouts and shrimp stew were great! The ice cream was a nice surprise. We sat in the bar section at a table and could hear each other talk even with live music. Singer happened to be great, too. Service was pretty slow at times but they were busy so I get it. Overall, great experience as usual! 😍
Restaurant week options included many of our favorites. Great food, great value.
Yet another first time visit thanks to Restaurant Week. We’d love to come back here with a group someday.
Shared one four course meal for $37, and it was plenty of food. Normal pricing looked good, and half price wine bottles on Wednesday was a nice bonus. Thanks to our waitress for excellent service and good suggestions.
The Turkish wine we wanted to try wasn’t available, but our backup Zinfandel was good.
The falafel wasn’t bad, but we’d probably not order it again. Their flash fried Brussels sprouts should be tried by everyone, fantastic!
The main course was an excellent shrimp dish called Garides Saganaki, which will be hard to resist not getting again next time we go.
The chocolate pudding with caramel, sea salt, and whipped cream was divine.
2nd time here. Really really good. Authentic Turkish and Lebanese and Greek offerings. Brussels sprouts to die for. Fresh baked pita. Raki. Great service and ambience.
The bartenders were amazing. We sat at the bar for our meal. Food was delivered and the bartenders knew the menu very well
The intention of going to Ayse Meze was for a quiet, date night. We made a reservation about a week in advance . Although we had never been, we had heard good things. When we arrived at the restaurant, instead of being taken to the dining room, we were taken to the bar. In addition, our small two-person table appeared to have been placed last minute or as an after thought. The table was squeezed into two larger tables that seemed more permanent. In addition, it was placed in the egress path to the emergency exit (a life safety issue), which was right next to my chair. Lastly, the table was wobbly and one of us had to put our foot on one of the table supports at all times to keep it from moving around. After sitting for a couple of minutes and discussing just leaving, we decided to give the food a chance and sit at the bar. Frankly, our review would have been much worse, except the barstaff and the quality of the food made up for the poor first impression. My impression is the restaurant either overbooked or was trying to be greedy because it was First Saturday. I would recommend this place for casual dining or for happy hours/casual get together at the bar, but they don't seem interested in taking care of the people who make reservations.
My first experience at this restaurant was with a group of friends one week before this lunch, and Ayse was sooo wonderful then that I had to introduce it to my husband. We're real "foodies" who live abut twenty-five miles south, and we were both thrilled with this lunch visit too! In fact, we met friends there (both had visited Ayse before) , and our server was the same wonderful woman who served my group one week before this, so I assured everyone that she would care for us beautifully, and she certainly did! She was most polished and professional, yet very smiling and helpful! (Please give her a special "thank you" for her outstanding professionalism!) The food was excellent, prices are great, ambience fabulous, so what's not to love?!?!
Great service. Food was very good. Awesome specialty drinks. Liked the bar environment for table
We had a great time at Ayse, we will definately be back for more.
Great birthday dinner
Son moving to flo
As always, Ayse never disappoints. Try the Portugese wine. A GREAT WINE AND GOOD VALUE. If you have time, let it breathe. The tannin will mellow.
We've been several times, never disappointed. The roasted Brussels sprouts are to die for.
This was my second time dining at Ayse Meze and it was excellent. The Turkish Cigars were fantastic and the scallops were delicious. I will be sure to visit again.
Fantastic food with warm staff and a location near local hot spots
As usual we had a phenomenal meal with great service and wonderful ambiance
