Read my help review! The owners suck!
Good, but not as much as a prior visit to this restaurant. A very full Saturday night with a number of large groups (in a very tight space) made for high noise levels and slow service. Food generally of high quality - whole egg plant, lamb chops and whole fish were highlights. Hummus was a disappointment as was an apple that was overwhelmed by shredded phyllo pastry ( stick to the baklava!)
Chloe at the bar was awesome!!!! Very good service. The NYE drink was very good.
Food is superb and waitstaff very attentive. Ambiance is very relaxed but romantic.
Love how the restaurant feels, especially the outdoor seating during the warmer months. However, people greeting you at the front always seem to be in a bad mood, not very welcoming, especially this last time which was Christmas Eve. That greeting sets up the whole dinner. Overall,we've been here 4 times, but most likely the last
For the last few years, this has been our go to place for Christmas Eve dinner. The food is always so delicious, and the rack of lamb last night was the best I’ve ever tasted. Ayse Meze is a real gem.
Waited 35 minutes to get drinks...had to ask twice to get service. Very slow and the food was not great.
Spectacular food. We had several small plates: feta, phyllo cigars, souvlakia, shrimp stuffed with crab, and calamari. All of the items were excellent especially the calamari. The Yule Log dessert was delicious. The service was friendly and helpful.
Food was amazing, filling...just a wonderful experience overall
Service was very slow. Had to repeatedly ask for the initial drink order. The Sunday Brunch was not well replenished and the eggs Benedict was only one egg.
After reading all the great reviews, my family and I were expecting so much, and were sorely disappointed. The pita (which is such an important element in a Greek restaurant, as it serves as the underpinning of all the dips, etc), tasted as if it were bought from 7-11 and then frozen. The dips were merely fair, except for the tzatziki, which was nothing more than strained plain yogurt - nary an herb nor spice.
The rest of the dinner was forgettable, and the fact that everything arrived luke warm, didn't help. We finally asked our server to make sure the remaining dishes we ordered to be hot.
The restaurant is pretty. The service was adequate. I think our server was new, so I will be gentle. But, he could have used some help, which didn't seem to be made available.
It was my sons birthday
Our first table was next to the band and took a while for the food
We asked to move but was put at a different table, two tables form the band.
The kitchen got our food order incorrectly and it took a very long time
We were delighted with the service and the food. The area was clean and spacious. We look forward to eating there again.
Great good and service! Will return!
We went for our wedding anniversary and loved the food and were the restaurant. We’ll be taking family there soon
Well we had another great time as AYSE. We shall return because they have great food, great service. We especially liked the fact that there was a server assigned to a very large table. That makes a great difference. See you next time.
Excellent! Our choice to sit in the bar area with the jazz band at brunch wasn’t the best choice as we wanted to talk and catch up and it was a little too loud, but the jazz band was excellent.
We've been 5 times, every time impressed by the food. Delicious and day service, just be prepared to pay for how good it is!
Wife and I visited Frederick to take in a show and decided to try a Frederic location for Brunch. Looked at several locations, but we are both fond of Mediterranean Food, so we opted for Ayse Meze. We both opted for the buffet. My wife had Eggs Benedict in addition to what was on the Buffet (you had to order separately from the waiter) and said they were very good (the egg was cooked perfectly). The food on the buffet was all very good. In addition to the standard brunch items, they had a salmon dish that was very good. We live in the DC area, but travel up 15 quite often to head to points north. We enjoyed the restaurant and will manage our trips in the future to include a stop at Ayse Meze.
Great experience, food and service!
It was a Sunday Buffet, it was delicious and fun.
Awesome experience, we celebrate many family milestones there.
We were a party of four on a busy Saturday night with music in the bar as well as large groups around us which we had to compete with during our evening. Overall we found the food to be somewhat bland, cool and really lacking in taste we expected from Greek cuisine. The waiter while pleasant was also very unorganized and just not able to handle a Saturday night. We had to remind/ask him about our drink orders several times. He said they would be right up however we already seen them sitting at the bar for some time. The flaming cheese arrived however the warmed pita bread didn’t which resulted in the cheese cooling off. No pitas arrived with the hummus plate either. Sadly, the only timely thing we received was the check. The total cost wasn’t worth the food/service/ambiance we received and there seemed to be an overall lack of organization to the restaurant which we hadn’t seen before. Sadly, is was just not the Ayse Meze Lounge we’ve enjoyed in the past.
Food and service were very good. My husband and I just returned from a trip to Greece and Turkey and found the food at Ayse Meze delicious and very authentic. It brought back happy memories of our trip.
A gem in Frederick. Great service, pretty room. Looks like summer might bring nice outside eating. We skipped the $20 per person Sunday buffet in favor of the regular a la carte menu. The buffet looked fine, and yet, we really had a wonderful meal that would make us undertake the trek to Frederick more often. One of our party had never had middle eastern food before, so we had to have the flaming cheese -- a spectacle that creates a delicious starter. The only concern is the safety of the staff and the patience of the eaters! The beet special salad starter was just the right level of spice with the beets. The moussaka was declared the best the devotee had ever eaten. The neophyte enjoyed her first lamb kabob and everyone left happy and satisfied.
Food and service was exceptional. We loved it so much, we are planning another visit. Only thing I would change would be to order wine rather than a cocktail. The cocktails we received had either LOTS of ice or no liquor at all. Cocktails too pricey to be watered down. But the food and service was superb!
Food was delicious. Waitress was so nice and helpful. My daughter avoids dairy and gluten. There are many delicious options. We can’t wait to go again!
Excellent, interesting Greek food! A musician was playing in the background (bar area). We thoroughly enjoyed it! We’ll definitely return!
Wonderful food, great ambience, excellent service. Highly recommend!
the food was fantastic, as expected. service was a bit slow, but our waitress was kind and seemed to have many tables, so i didn't mind. my only complaint is that the music was so loud i could not hear my date, and i wish i had known beforehand that we'd be seated in that area. good experience overall, though!
Love the restaurant, especially the food. On this occasion the service was extraordinary. The server was attentive, knowledgeable and courteous.
We were a party of five, two in our party are vegan. There were many choices for all of us. We had two servers, they were both outstanding. There was live music which was great. Love this restaurant!
The food and service at Ayse Meze are always good. The small plates are well prepared. The dip samplers, salads and kebabs were great! Good service, not rushed.
A great place to do tapas-style lunch with friends. Lots of good shareable foods. Especially like the flaming saganaki and bruksel lahanasi dishes.
Wonderful date night at Ayse! We were sat in the lounge and it was great. There was fairly loud live music that started after we were sat. That was good with us, however we were not expecting this and the host definitely should have asked before seating us in this area because we were right next to where they set up and played.
A manager came by to check on us as well.
Only negative was there was another server, (not ours) that doesn’t understand the yield to customers walking rule.
Food was phenomenal
Service from Chloe was outstanding, both professional and friendly!
The place was so much fun to be in on a Saturday night
Great all around
Love to meet my boyfriend for Happy Hour Mon-Thurs. Nice to hear good music and enjoy food/drinks at unbeatable prices! Great for dinner dates and quick bites. Their full menu has something for everyone!
Out server Kelly was awesome
Been to Ayse many times and have never disappointed. Always great food and service.
Food, service, ambience, everything was fabulous! We brought 2 friends of ours that had never been there & they LOVED it too!
Great food, but uneven service. They had a big party on the patio and we were told they were out of small plates due to the event. Service very slow.
