Quick lunch today. As we have come to expect, all was very good. Only issue, first time, received an email from open table that our reservation had been cancelled. Called avvio to resolve and it did not. I had to contact open table myself to resolve. They were quite busy that afternoon, so I give them a pass. Always enjoy our meals here, great food, good selection and service is always top notch.

Disappointed in the chicken marsala I had on Saturday - very spicy and salty. Not like what I have had there in the past.

Every time we go to Avvio, the food is fantastic, the portion sizes are good, the service is great. This is the first & only time we've been disappointed with the food. They had a Lobster Mac 'n Cheese addition to their fall/winter menu which 3 out of 4 of us ordered. It came in an a baking dish, about 6 inches round, and was made with ziti, pancetta and Gruyere cheese. We all found that it barely had any lobster in it (we each found about 5 nickel- to-quarter-sized pieces) and was a dry bite and needed much more of a creamy sauce. The flavor of the dish was good, albeit a little salty. The manager came around to our table, as they always do, and asked us if everything was OK. We did inform her about the lack of lobster and she did offer to get us more lobster meat to add to each of our dishes. Since we were halfway through the meal, we thanked her but said it wasn't necessary, and just wanted to convey that the dish could definitely use improvement overall. She did let the kitchen know about our comments. We were told that this was a the 1st night they were making this dish, so some tweaks will be made as they go along. The 4th person in our party got the Shrimp Scampi and was very pleased with her meal. We also ordered the Shrimp & Calamari appetizer which was well-prepared and delicious. This experience won't stop us from paying Avvio another visit.

I love the menu, especially all the wines by the glass and that they offer them in 3oz pours so you can try a few! The food quality is excellent t and the service and atmosphere are very good. Wish it was closer so I could go more often!

The service and atmosphere is always efficient and welcoming. At my last visit, the food was not up to par. The salmon was undercooked and didn't seem fresh.

Food is preference/opinions. So for my taste the recipes need to be reworked, a little salt and pepper go along way.
Just two examples: 1. tiramisu was made with soft lady fingers or cake making it soggy, it should of been made with hard lady fingers, and 2. risotto should be made with arborio rice when cooked comes out creamy, their risotto is just al dente rice.

The food is invariably above average & the menu flexible enough to allow mix and match smaller portions to share. The service was attentive but not too...and our server knew the wine list well enough to make good suggestions.
Thankfully the excessively noisy bar is set apart from the dining area...

My flat iron steak was really tough and my salad was missing the goat cheese. The service was excellent and everything went smoothly and quickly.

Avvio is a very nice restaurant. We both enjoyed our dinners. My only complaint and a complaint I often have with many restaurants is the seating policy. The restaurant was not busy at all during our visit, there were plenty of open tables, yet the hostess chose to seat us immediately adjacent to an occupied table. Why? If they were only using one section of the restaurant I could understand. This was not the case the evening of our visit, there were parties scattered all over the restaurant.

This restaurant is very loud. The soup was cold as was the mashed potatoes that came with the steak.The service was great but the food was not to my liking.

Avvio has been a regular favorite...we visit frequently. However, this past Saturday night the food and service didn’t quite meet our expectations. This is a somewhat upscale restaurant, understandably the prices are a bit higher than your run-of-the-mill Italian restaurant. But, I’m disappointed to say that the food and service were sub-par this time around. I’ll chalk it up to possibly an “off-night”, or that we perhaps ordered the wrong things this time. Though when three people spend nearly $300(with tip) on dinner and wine, one would expect extraordinary quality and service. We will return sometime, as we’ve had many positive experiences here. One suggestion though...stop pouring the wine from the small carafe at the table so dramatically! It’s unnecessary and the wait-person splashed red-wine on my shoulder! (I didn’t say anything, as I didn’t see it until I got home.)

This was our first visit. Due to the lounge area the back ground noise was very high. Service was outstanding. Jessica was a fantastic server. Food was marginal.
