The octopus appetizer was disappointing. Soft and mushy. Their bread was disappointing. However the entrees (short rib and pasta, and orzo seafood.

Service was outstanding!

When we first arrived the person who greeted us seemed a bit upset that we were a party of four rather than our reservation for six. We had just left an art opening and some people decided not to join us at the last minute. He had saved us a table for 8 in a private space and was not pleased. But our waiter was delightful and attentive and the food was delicious so it wound up being a very positive experience. We all agreed that we’d definitely return.

This is my favorite restaurant to go to with my boyfriend! We go here for birthdays, anniversaries, anything and everything because we love it so much!

Best Greek food in the city.

Love this place whether it's for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch (it's especially great for business meetings and private functions). It's in the Top 5 restaurants on the North Shore and I'll have to say, my favorite! This IS NOT American Greek food, this is AUTHENTIC Greek Food. My highest recommendation. 5 Stars

The food was surprisingly bland, and the beef tenderloin skewers were not particularly tender.

Great food, great value, great service. Went early evening and staying 3 hours chatting. They were kind and not pushy to rush us out.

It was Sunday late lunch meal. Not busy. Service was slow and inattentive, forgot drinks, and bread requests. Avgolemono was starch thickened boullion broth and flavorless, barely lemon or no egg. The $24 parched salmon was raw in the middle 3rd of fish. Other entrees were goo, grilled octopus, greek salad, chicken kebab and saganaki.

Service and food were great! I can’t remember our server’s name, but he took great care of us. The food came out promptly and looked and tasted amazing. I had spanakopita as my entree and it was perfectly crisp and flaky with a delicious spinach filling. We shared the rice pudding for dessert, and it was a delicious understated treat that was perfect for after a filling meal. We will definitely be coming back!

Excellent saganaki, gyros, and pita. Sesame bread slices were stale which was unfortunate. They should serve a loaf of fresh sesame bread. Service was good. Would highly recommend.

Food was excellent. Wine recommendation excellent. Waiter forgot one appetizer but that was good because it was just the right amount of food. It was a bit loud but we enjoyed it.

When your Greek friend recommends a place, you go, and we are so glad we did. Food was outstanding... fresh, flavorful and excellently prepared. Service and ambiance were 5-star, too. We will be back!

We have always had a tasty, well served meal at Avli. The moderate noise level lends to good conversations and the staff is amiable and excellent. Happy to return!

Good Greek food with plain seasoning for Northshore taste. Leaves one wanting a bit more salt, cinnamon, lemon and garlic.

Avli is a great restaurant with good food, good service, plus it's quiet so that you can easily have a conversation over dinner.

Consistently welcoming, warm atmosphere and a good meal.

We enjoy eating at Avli 6 or 7 times a year. They have excellent Pastichio.. we always get Dolmades and Aviglemono (egg lemon soup). Service is good as is the wine.

First of all, fantastic service by Dmitri - thank you! My friends chose two good dishes - the whitefish and the greek salad. My wife and I were less impressed by the whole sea bass (not a lot of fish) and the Diane salad, which was heavy on the arugula and light on the rest of the ingredients. The rice pudding though, was delicious.

Thank you for putting our party of 12 in you private room. It was perfect for our two families and our annual Thanksgiving week reunion!
