Food was delicious. Great, friendly service
Dinner w friends !! Awesome food ( as always) . Never disappoints
It was overpriced for what we got. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t as good as the other times I went. The service was good, but slow.
Great beer, food, and service. The beet salad is fantastic, especially if you are experiencing remorse from eating a mountain of poutine for an appetizer :)
The food was good, the service was prompt, and the venue was very nice.
Amazing food and drinks. Love loved the poutine and pablano Mac and cheese. Our server was awesome and food/drinks came out prompt
Great food. Great booze. Great ambiance. Nice quiet place for dinner with my wife and our 11 year old daughter for my wifes bday dinner. EXCELLENT burgers and fries. Wife had the spicy chicken sausage and waffles. We’ll be back often.
Had the Cassoulet special, which was very tasty, but small portion. Should have been $17 not $27. The place was very lively and it's great that there are thriving pubs in Salt Lake neighborhoods. Wish there were more.
Off nights happen. I've been to Avenues Proper many times and usually the service is spot on. We had several items, one food, and three drinks, that had problems. Fortunately the food and the rest of the staff made up for it. The greeters are happy and upbeat, gave us updates on our waiting time, etc. The house made pickle offering has never disappointed. Will definitely go back, but would request a different server next time.
Lovely spot in Avenues for fine dining, great wine, friendly people.
Overall good - service is good, menu is small but food is fresh. Cocktails are always good but a bit pricey.
poor service and average food unlike the last time I was there.
Good food. Loud. Seating is tight if you’re not in a booth.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. We will definitely be back again!
Great food, amazing service, good beer.
Food was great, super friendly staff casual atmosphere just a really nice spot.
A wonderful place to eat and drink. There's also a chocolate shop next door.
I’ve been working in the SLC area for 2 years, and this was, by far, the best service I’ve had a restaurant. The food was delicious, too.
This was the second time I took business colleagues to dinner at Avenues Proper. Both times my guests were very pleased with the meal, the restaurant. Each time, colleagues who were from the SLC area said they were going to come back.
I had a great burger, excellent fries and a very good tap beer. The place has lots of parking but the outside dining did not work well on a cooler day. There was no crowd on a Friday lunch at 1.
Love this place because of the fabulous food and friendly staff. Our only disappointment is the scarcity of outdoor seating. We made a reservation and requested an outdoor table but had to sit inside due to lack of availability outside. Other people appeared to be in the same situation. Hope they can fix this because it’s otherwise a great place!
Great food creative menu. The service was snails pace. We were spilled on twice. The server and staff were super nice just need to learn how to serve
We love Avenues Proper. Love the food, drinks and the service is always great!
I describe Proper as an upscale brew pub, with both better food and better beer than most others. The superb service is what made this three-hour lunch with a friend from out of town so great, plus I'd forgotten how good Proper beers are! I was a little surprised that the Spicy Chicken Sandwich was some kind of ground chicken rather than a chicken breast, but the taste was very good anyway. My wife's BLT was good too. We sat outside for three hours on a beautiful afternoon and had just the right amount of attention; the water was refilled frequently, and our server was nearby often enough for us to order additional food items and another beer.
Great, casual atmosphere, very friendly staff-- our party size kept changing, and didn't want the high-top seating they had reserved for us. They quickly and pleasantly accommodated us by switching to lower tables and chairs. Food choices were unique, well prepared and hot! Will definitely return!
Waited very long time to be greeted once seated (excess of 15 minutes). Waiter was very cordial but speed of service only improved marginally. Thankfully the food was delicious and well-priced. Perhaps a subsequent visit would be better.
There were a couple mistakes with our food on this visit, but they fixed it right away.
The food here is so consistently good. It's our favorite neighborhood spot.
One of the best veggie burgers I've ever had -- it held together throughout, which is not typical. And it was tasty. The fries were great and my husband's cold cantaloupe soup was quite tasty and perfect for the hot day. He wasn't enthralled with the kale chicken salad because it was, as its name implies, kale and chicken, and not much else, but it was our waitress's favorite so if you like kale I'm sure you'd like it. But if you want a multi-ingredient salad, not so much.
Wanted to try for a while, was not disappointed! Save room for dessert!
The food was amazing and the primary reason I'll be back. The service was awful. Twice I had to ask for a drink multiple times before it was brought out despite the rest of my group (8 others) getting their drinks right away.
Very good sunday brunch. Especially appreciate the $3 bloody marys and mimosas, but the food was quite good as well. Highly recommend this friendly neighborhood gastro-pub.
Food was perfect, ambiance is great as always. Thanks!
Good food. Small tables. Poutine needed curds.
Very pleasant experience in this neighborhood restaurant. Service, food, and ambiance were excellent!
Would have been nice to have had the 100 dining no points. Not sure why this restaurant booking doesn’t acknowledge points
We have visited this, one of my favorite restaurants, on both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day this year. Somehow they seemed completely overwhelmed on both of these days. We had a 10:15 reservation and the manager/hostess was still printing menus. The hostess then scolded the waiting customers for “lining up” incorrectly. We were pointed to our table, not sat. The food also took 45 minutes to arrive after ordering.
Our server was awesome. The food was good as always but again at one point the same manager came and literally grabbed the water bottles off of our table without saying anything. No offense but I feel like she must have experience managing a village inn, not a place like this. Her job is to make customers feel comfortable and both times she’s done the exact opposite. She acted like we and the other customers celebrating Father’s Day, were bugging her.
Great place, apparently not for days like those. We won’t be back.
Okay place for dinner. Food is okay, but nothing special.
If you are looking for somewhere new to try, then give it a go.
The prop corn was an interesting little starter. The veggie burger was great but a little too spicy. Good beer, good service, nice ambiance.
Always a good time! Made a request to sit on the bar side and they saved a table for us. Great specials and beer selection!
