Ladies night was a wonderful value. The drinks were delicious and affordable. The menu was still full of delicious choices all at discounted prices. For a nicer meal at a great deal, check out this Bistro on a Tuesday night!
l sprouts were a bit too salty. That is the only criticism I have.
We left didn't get our food or acknowledge the wait or anything.
Great Brunch! Something for everyone. We had Molly as a server and she was fantastic. Great $10 all you can drink brunch options.
First time at the bistro. We loved it and can’t wait to return!
The service was great and the flavor of the food was good but two of the three meals were cold. The coffee was good, though!
I love brunch at Avenues-Bistro - Delicious mimosas and go for bottomless!
Our book club meets here once a month for bottomless Bellinis/Mimosas/Bloody Marys/Pomgrante Punch/Rum Chata Iced Coffee. We are always satisfied with our food and drinks while we discuss the book of the month and catch up with each other.
My only suggestion is putting something back on the menu that is not breakfast or has eggs in the dish. I'm not an egg person, and as much as I love French Toast, it would be nice to change it up every once and a while. (There's Biscuits and Gravy along with Chicken and Waffles if you like those selections) Overall, it's a great place, great food and drinks, and great atmosphere! We'll be back next month!
Met friends for lunch. Service was excellent. Two had grilled salmon and said it was really good. One had salad with shrimp and said it was good. I had chicken panini which was messy but really good taste though I didn't realize it came with fries or Iwould have subbed for ... and weren't the best. I'd go back and order that salmon next time.
Our server, Paul, was excellent. Food was great and the atmosphere was good too.
Brunch. Awful! Had to clear our own plates. Food was cold. No coffee refills. Manager unresponsive. Shame. Used to be one of our favorites.
Their Sunday Brunch buffet is the best! Our server Amy was great SJSU.
We had a great late evening respite with out of town guests. Two of us shared the shrimp Provencale, which is lemony and delicious. Another had a burger and fries, consistently a great choice. Everyone was satisfied, and the wine was tasty.
The food was delicious. The service was wonderful. We have a great time!
Although the bottomless drinks were definitely a hit, the overall service and food was not really worth the time we were there. The OpenTable app or the restaurant changed our reservation time (...I have the initial email, reservation number, and screenshot from an invite I sent) so we waited over 20 minutes to be seated. They were understaffed but I will say the server was friendly when she was available. It was definitely the saddest chicken and waffles I've ever seen served to someone and if you want their "Avocado Toast" you could easily make a better one at home because it was just pre-made guacamole on a ciabatta. I would go back for the drinks but I wouldn't plan on eating there again.
My meat was quite undercooked to the point of being too rare. Our server had told us that the meat was always cooked well done.
Easter brunch a little pricey for the food quality. Better when not a holiday brunch.
Great Easter brunch, it's becoming a tradition for our family!
Easter brunch. The entree items we ordered were all quite tasty, though the cubed potatoes (my side) were barely warm. Most of the buffet was a little disappointing. Many little cakes were completely unidentifiable by looks alone. Salads weren't particularly appealing. Scrambled eggs were good, but for a buffet it was just lackluster. When Avenues first opened several years ago the brunch buffet included an ambrosia type dish which was fantastic. Wish they's bring that back.
Very good food friendly waiter a casual spot fair prices and generous portions I will visit again with family or friends !!
Absolutely love this place we go every year for my birthday and whenever else we can get together. Amazing food and great people
We arrived at 11:15 for lunch & were promptly seated. After we visited for a few minutes, we ordered our drinks, an appetizer & our meals. Our drinks arrived shortly, the appetizer took a bit longer, but our meals followed after the appetizer was finished therefore we did not feel rushed to finish it before eating our main dishes. One of our Party ordered the shrimp, another the chicken panini with a side salad, & the third the filet sliders with fries. All our mains were very tasty, served at the right temperature & enjoyed by all. The bacon wrapped dates was our appetizer & we found it to be average, although I have had it @ Avenues before & found it better. The sauce was runny & had a heavy balsamic flavor rather than being cooked down as it has been before. Our service was good---drinks filled, unrushed, but not particularly friendly. Overall a decent experience but not what we had expected based on prior visits.
My first time there and the food was outstanding and our waiter amazing! Will definitely be back.
We must have come at a bad time, when we went there for lunch yesterday. Our server was not connecting with us, our food was mediocre (the beef in the sliders was tough), and my red wine was slightly amber in color and bitter. When I sent it back, they either just poured it into a new glass or poured another from the same bottle. When I commented that it was the same, the server replied, "Well, at least you're getting it for half price..." Bizarre.
This bistro was recomnended by our inn keeper & we were not disappointed. The small plate choices were wonderful & discounted during happy hour. Food portions & service were great. This would quickly become a favorite food hangout if we lived locally
The food here is great, the wine list is ridiculously underpriced, and the service is among the best in Kansas City. If it weren't for a table full of women scream-laughing (hardly the fault of the restaurant), it would have been absolutely perfect. Even with them, it was a wonderful evening.
I brought my Mom and sisters and we all loved it. The food, portion sizes and value were great. We will be back the next time they visit.
We went there for a birthday brunch. It was a nice place but I would have preferred a table, not a bench with other guests. The entrees came with a brunch buffet that was mediocre at best. The entrees were good and the brunch cocktails were wonderful! Overall it was a nice experience.
Brunch was great!
Best Sunday brunch in town, hands down.
(like James Brown)
Avenues was great. We have not been there for a year or more. The staff was very accomodating and split the salad and the pork chop so my husband and I could share. We enjoyed the duo dip and the wine was very good.
Really loved the menu and food. Service was extremely slow. I ordered a drink and never got it. Went for the bottomless cocktails but ended up only ever getting one because of the service.
Loved the French toast. Would like to go back if service improves. When I walked out I saw the drink I ordered just sitting at the bar next to my waiter.
Nice staff, great food, the server was extremely nice. We overstayed, as we were catching up and not once did she make us feel as we should leave. I’m ready to come back for another skillet, it was sooooo good.
The food was good and there were numerous options to choose from. Service was pretty good but a little slow. It was a good experience until our server approached us outside to complain about the tip my father-in-law left for her. No class. We won't go back.
Nice venue in quaint neighborhood with delicious food attractively presented.
Great service and great value!! Ladies night was a hit
The food ranged from good to excellent. We were able to enjoy a leisurely meal.
The food was absolutely amazing. HOWEVER, upon arriving, they took us back to the table (with reservations) and it was still dirty. Ok, no big deal. These things happen. We get sat and did not even get asked what we wanted to drink for 15 minutes! At the 45 minute mark we had our order taken and had one drink! This is absolutely crazy to me. We ended up staying 2 hours and enjoying our bottomless beverages. The food was top notch. I just can't stand poor service.
Service was very slow and not friendly at all. Food was good but the restaurant was very loud.
Service slow but venue was busy.
