Still the best value for dine out Boston. Appetizer and main course were great. Dessert was ok.
My family group had lunch before attending the ballet. The location to the Theater District is perfect, food is good, waiter was very attentive to our party even though the bar did not open until 3pm he brought us Mamosas. Parking was convenient.
Always a wonderful time at Avenue One. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I recommend this location to anyone who is going to the theatre or looking for a nice night out in Boston. (With easy access parking too!!)
The service was excellent. 6 people and we all loved our meals.
Perfect location for going to the Opera House Theater.
Food was average, service was terrible. This goes along with previous reviews I read.
Excellent service and food. Reliable dinner spot prior to a night a the Opera House
Hidden gem for pre and post theatre and for Boston Common area!!!
We had a party of 4 and two meals arrived cold and did not have correct garnishes. One drink from the bar arrived in a severely chipped glass. All in all a disappointing meal.
As usual food was amazing...everyone had something different and it was all outstanding. Everyone was happy with their meal...flatbed pizza was especially wonderful. Cant go wrong with this restaurant.
Great location for parking near the Opera House. Nothing exciting.
We had an excellent meal pre-theater. Food was prompt and excellent quality. Service was also very good. We will definitely go again.
We weren't going to go because it is in a hotel (Hyatt) but the proximity to the theater and farm to table aspect of it was intriguing. It is what it represented, a pleasant place to enjoy dinner in the middle of the theater district. Would definitely do it again. Another plus, particularly in the winter is that it is accessible from the parking garage from inside. We left our heavy coats in the car, had dinner & walked across the street for the show.
Love the Hyatt, everything they do. The entire staff works together to create a relaxed and welcoming experience. Avenue One is no exception.
Good location, nice space. Went for lunch with a friend. Both dishes were tasteless. I'd return for afternoon tea/coffee or a drink, but won't eat there again.
We were fortunate to find this restaurant so close to the Opera House for our pre - Nutcracker dinner with our granddaughter.
The food was excellent, and the service warm, welcoming and efficient. We will definitely dine at Avenue One again.
I was there with two grandchildren for lunch before an event at the Opera House. Perfect location for this. Our waiter was great, very solicitous of the girls. Food was good.
Really appreciated the vegetarian and vegan options. The food was delicious, and our server was very attentive. A very enjoyable meal.
Boston Ballet tickets. Service slow and not attentive. Sat near kitchen door. Food was ok.
Had lunch before theater- location great! Food was good-and service fantastic. Nice place for our group of 8 to eat and catch up with each other. Server was exceptional- attentive and friendly
Good food, great service
Just one compliant some of the tables are too close to your neighbors
Need to space them out
Best waiter ever! Negotiate breakfast and lunch menus, surprise birthday cake and ensured that we had a great time! Bravo!
Our waitress was pitiful. We ordered dinner and I asked for a beer. Five minutes passed and she finally brought the beer, plopped the bottle down on the table with no glass and no napkin. I asked for a glass and five minutes later it arrived. Interestingly, it was identical to the water glasses on our table and on the adjacent table where nobody was sitting. Part of our order was a Spinach Salad which we told the waitress we would share. We also asked that the kitchen lightly dress our salad. It arrived 10 minutes later with dressing on the side. There were no dishes brought for us to share the salad. When I asked for dishes the waitress brought us two 4 inch bread plates. There was no utensils for us to mix the dressing into the salad. When I asked for utensils I was given one teaspoon. It was laughable how poorly we were serviced. Our food arrived 30 minutes later. I should say here that we informed our waitress that we had a ballet to attend and asked if our service could be quick. My wife's vegetable risotto was fine. My grilled salmon was horrible. It was a small, poorly cooked piece of fish that frankly smelled and tasted as if it were a bad piece of fish. Our waitress was not responding to our gestures so I stood up and got the head waiter's attention. He graciously took the meal away and asked if I'd like anything else. Insofar as we had a ballet show to make and it had taken so long to get our meals already I explained that I didn't think there would be time. He suggested a bowl of soup. I agreed and he brought it to me quickly. The attentiveness of the head waiter to my problem was the only positive aspect of our time at this restaurant. I would never recommend that anybody choose to dine at Avenue One.
Very pleasant, good food, reasonable price, reasonably quiet, attentive service.
Nice spot pre-theatre as location is nicely situated for an easy walk to the theatres from Opera House (real close) and other venues within a block or two. Ordered and shared their tuna appetizer - perfect. We each ordered our own meal versus going for sharing smaller apps/bites. Salmon was lovely and my sister thought her lobster - seafood ravioli's were equally delicious. Area for improvement was service - a bit slow, but not enough to detract from recommendation to give it a try.
Eating in the hotel restaurant makes it feel like being on vacation.
My only complaint was the a/c making the room a bit chilly.
I cannot rave enough about Avenue One. As a surprise for my aunt my mother and I took her to Avenue One for dinner and then over to see Phantom (swoon)... the entire team on that evening were amazing. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. Maria, our hostess could not have been sweeter. She was very helpful in choosing our main courses. The manager on (who’s name I am blanking on) was AMAZING!! He put together the most LOVELY birthday tray for my aunt. It was stunning!!!! They really went above and beyond. They always do. I always recommend Avenue One for anyone going to the theatre! It’s absolutely amazing!
We were attending the Opera house and had a great dinner before the show. We had the Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips. Both were excellent. Service was point on. Would do the same thing again when we go to a show in the area
Went with an old friend...food was gr at and the waiter was attentive...nice atmosphere
This is a typical hotel restaurant. The breakfast is good. The dinner is below mediocre.
I have had the good fortune to enjoy meals at many of the best US steak houses. I dare say I had the best filet at avenue One last weekend!
We went 4 of us before seeing Finding Neverland at Opera House. It's the perfect location and they will validate your parking. Other than service was a bit slow we were all pleased with our meals. The salmon was perfectly cooked, very well seasoned and moist. The salads were fresh and well made. I had the gnocchi dinner sweet potato and beets which were perfect. We were all pleased with our meals and with our server.
We hadn't been here in a few years, so we decided to go for pre-theatre dinner and were impressed with the variety of offerings, as well as the creative choices. We simply ordered an appetizer and sandwiches but the sandwiches were wonderful (Boston Club & French Onion Chicken Sandwich) - creative & delicious. The crab cakes were almost all crab & very tasty, tho small. A particularly nice option is that crab cakes are available as an add-on for the variety of salads. Great nibbles options with bar jars, local cheese, as well as the appetizers. We will be back.
Excellent, friendly service, quiet well appointed dining room. Excellent food
Always our before theater dining choice. Perfect! Food is excellent and service is wonderful. Very relaxing. A great bar and I can't resist their Cobb Salad
Did Sunday brunch. Was relaxing but trendy atmosphere. Recommend using Open Table as walk in line got long. Didn't think to do that in the hotel I was staying in but worth it.
Good place for a quick dinner before a play. Disappointed they were out of things on the menu. And it was only 6pm.
The service was a little slow for the number of patrons dining but the food was good.
Enjoyed a birthday dinner before a show at Opera House. Perfect night.
First time enjoying weekend brunch. Menu items were delicious and memorable. The the service attentive and friendly. Looking forward to enjoying brunch again the next time we're in Boston.
