excellent coupon value. lovely location right downtown. easy access from green line.
Good food, incredibly slow service. Waited 35 minutes before we got our first glass of wine. Food is very good, nice ambiance all around. But if you’re in a rush, this isn’t the place to go.
Went there Sat. night and thought overall, very good value for the voucher deal of $68. Calimari and shrimp cocktail apps. were very good and the mains as well; seafood ravioli and the salmon. Wine that came with it was a really weak pour but good nonetheless. We did feel the service was spotty however; sometimes long waits for waiter to return to check for drink refills or put our order in and I did see similar comments about the service previously. I would recommend this at the voucher price; not sure about going there to pay full price however.
Very slow service
Not a good value. Food was quite pricey given what it was.
Excellent food. Great service from all the staff, including Abdul, our wait person. We have become regulars enough so the staff greets us with a "Welcome back!" Very nice feeling.
Excellent choice in every way. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
Food was delicious and options were varied. I had the shrimp tempura which was covered in a spicy sweet sauce and my friend had dumplings that were wonderful. Haddock entree was cooked perfect as was the salmon. Desserts were decadent and a great finish Only problem with service was in getting the check, otherwise great
Need a better atmosphere... more lively. Asian food a little too salty. Service was awesome! Overall OK
Great staff, super attentive. Great food quality.
Waiter was outstanding. He knew we were running late for the theater and made a great suggestion for a quick meal and was very attentive. Wonderful service.
Our reservation was for lunch; we were going to the theater, so location can’t be beat. Also, there is a bit off parking cost in the Hyatt garage with this reservation.
Everything was great. But, I would have liked to see the restaurant busier. So, if you’re looking for an active scene, this isn’t for you. But, if you want good food and service, combined with convenient location, this is great.
Although I found the chicken & gruyere sandwich with carmelized onions exceedingly dry, the NE Cobb salad my friend had was delicious. The nicest part was how quiet the room seemed, so nice to be able to be able to hear each other. It was a great experience and we will definitely return.
Food was, at best, mediocre. 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 1 drink, 1 beet=$66!!
Great food, a little pricey. Upscale atmosphere. Would definitely go again!
Inside Hyatt regency. Nice ambience. Fun menu based on Boston historical areas with lots of seafood options. Food was good, well executed and consistent. No issues would eat here again.
Great place to dine before the Opera House! The barbeque waffle fried were outstanding!
Very nice menu with a varied selection. Portions were large - good for the price. My meal was great - steak tip salad and pork chops. However, my friend said the vegetarian paella tasted like Rice-a Roni. Wait staff was attentive and responsive.
Pleasant, not crowded or noisy, spot for pre-show dinner. Food and service were very good.
We always dine at Avenue One prior to attending productions at the Boston Opera House. The restaurant is only two blocks from the Opera House. The wait staff is excellent. Service is excellent and the food appeals to a variety of palates. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to folks who are in this area of Boston.
It was what I expected for a hotel restaurant. Creative menu but the execution was just "OK". Higher prices because of the location, but that was to be expected. Our server was very nice.
While we LOVED it last time, this time was a bit disappointing. One of our guests has a severe shellfish allergy and could not have ANY of the fried options - even fries!!!! - as they didn’t have an allergy-friendly frying option to avoid cross contamination. This was SHOCKING, especially as the hotel is in a Hyatt. It was disappointing. The cappuccino machine was also broken. Hoping they figure out a way to address the cross-contamination concerns for such a common and life-threatening allergy so we can enjoy it more next time.
I've eaten here in the past and remembered the menu being quite limited and service a bit slow but I needed a last minute reservation before the theater and took another chance and was really glad we did. The menu has totally changed since I've been here last - it has many Boston themed options which are a lot of fun for my out of town guests. Service was prompt and attentive, our food was great - tender calamari, flavorful flatbreads (I can't remember what my family ordered but I know they all liked it) - we will definitely be returning. It's also super convenient to the Opera House/parking and offers a discount for season ticket holders.
Service was incredibly slow. We ordered a pizza, which I’m certain was from a box in the frozen foods section. This is room service food, at best. Very pricey for sub par food.
Theater performance at The Opera Gouse
Pre-theatre dinner was excellent with great service and food. We dine here often and have not been disappointed.
My fish was a little overcooked, but not terrible. The drinks were just ok. The service wasn't great .
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Boston for a business trip that included several networking meals. We had two breakfasts and two dinners at Avenue One. The food was great and it was quiet enough to have a good conversation. The service was also very good, but they didn't refill our drinks as often as I would have liked.
We had missed our reservation time due to traffic. It was not a problem, we were seated quickly and served promptly. The staff was friendly and very efficient. Our meal was delicious and we made the
ballet with time to spare. We have always used Avenue One when ever we go to the Opera House
and the service is always superb
Fine for a business breakfast meeting. Ambiance lacks a bit as no windows.
We were glad to see the menu change from the last time we were there. They have added more selections including vegetarian options
It was a rather busy time at the Avenue One! Maybe because it was a nice spring day. Young children allowed to run around the restaurant was disturbing. It is too bad that parents allow that. A child crossing the path of wait staff carrying a tray of food/drinks is not a good thing.
Our service and food were terrific. We visit you every time we attend a ballet; next season we are full subscribers so we will have dinner with you more often.
The food was great, service impeccable, ambience calming! A short walk to the Theatre where the 4 of us had tickets to a great play!! Will definitely dine here again!!
Overall great experience, superb service and food. Little noisy but overall not as bad as it could have been. Highly recommend
Good place to eat. Very convenient to Boston Opera House and theater district. Only drawback was that the service was very slow. Waiter was excellent and the food was good, just took a very long time to get the food prepared.
Very nice restaurant that was convenient to opera house. Excellent food but slow service. But we were in no hurry. Will go again
Food was so, so. They have menu items representing many neighborhoods in Boston. It would make more sense to serve one type of food and get it right, instead of what we got.
The food was surprisingly really good considering this is a hotel restaurant. I had the fish with butter cookie crumble - delicious!
Very nice place. We went for a pre-theater dinner. Unfortunately it was also the day before the Boston Marathon so they were very busy. Loved their menu where its basically foods from 4 different sections of Boston. Our waitress was very kind, pleasant and professional. The drinks and food were also very good. The only negative was it was slow because of the number of people. The manager/waitress felt bad and comp our drinks, very was very nice of them. I would definitely put them on your list of restaurants to try. We'll go back again
It was a great dinner before seeing a show! I was recommended the scrod by the waitress and she was right, it was great. Would absolutely visit again if I am in the area.
