Gracious, friendly service. Solid food choices. This is a hidden gem, right down from the Theater District.
Avenue One at the Hyatt regency Boston was fantastic. We arrived early and were welcomed at the bar by Norman, who turned out to be a fantastic bartender, serve, and all around nice guy. His mixology skills were second to none and we enjoyed some delicious beverages. Once our table was ready, he escorted us to our table, where we were promptly greeted by our server. We ordered additional drinks, as well as appetizers and an entree. The service was incredibly attentive, by not only our server, but the entire staff. A finished dish was picked up immediately by whomever was closest, which was a great show a teamwork and a commitment to a fine experience. The food was all delicious, from the chowder and charcuterie appetizers, to my shrimp and grits entree and a fine cup of coffee to end the meal. We returned to the bar later the same evening, after attending a show nearby, and were greeted by Norman, once again, who served us our nightcaps, which was a fitting way to end a lovely evening. I can't recommend Avenue One highly enough, because there were only 5 stars to choose from. You will not be disappointed!
Food and service was outstanding! Was dining before ballet . Was attentive to us . Would dine again .
Staying in the Hyatt for a weekend in Boston. The location, valet parking, room and service were all fine so I was disappointed to find the restaurant was not up to expectations. I arrived mid afternoon and except for candy bars at the reception desk there was nothing to eat anywhere inside the hotel.
We opted for breakfast in the One and while the menu was impressive the quality was only fair. Eggs overcooked, English muffin under toasted, overcooked dry waffle. Service was excellent and the space is very nice -
With limited time before the theater evening performance, we opted to try the restaurant again for dinner. Disappointing. It’s a shame really. The Hyatt is in a superb location - walk to the North End for fab food and pass on the hotel dining.
Food was excellent. Try the delicious tiramisu for dessert! Ahmed was our server and he added to this being an overall excellent dining experience.
Went in to go to theatre, and let our waiter know. He was amazing, and put us at ease about making it in time. Took an order for an appetizer, and came back for entrée order. Got appetizer right away. Received entrees within reasonable time after appetizer. Ordered a pork entrée and fish taco (not fried) entrée, usually order salmon which is good as well. He joked that I needed to finish the meal, as we were off to the theatre. We had parked in the garage, so we put leftover in car. Also got dessert, which we saw him cruising to got us, although we were making good time. Finished, with time to spare. Food was delicious. Service was just the best.
As a go to before a show at the opera house its perfect!
The service was good. The room and seating was quite comfortable. Nice date night location. The food came out cold. Maybe it sat out too long. The skewers were suppose to sizzle. But they brought it back.
Great service. Food was very good and good value for the hotel dining. Great location for pre-theater dinner. Will come again.
The strands of fettuccine were stuck together in stacks of 5. Way too many olives and no sauce at all.
It was great to see Abdulai again !! He still has the expert service touch !!
one of our favorites for the Theater Events during the season. Located conveniently at the Lafayette Garage, park and walk for dinner then The Boston Opera House is easy for our group. service has always been great as is the dinner (appetizers and entrees). this recent trip was our 1st trip back to the area since the covid shutdowns and we were pleased to have enjoyed the experience. we'd recommend to our friends also.
We were promptly seated at a table that was perfect for talking and dining. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was very good! Clam chowder and a salmon dish were the favorites.
Great place and service.
Nice breakfast buffet with all the usual choices.
We were reluctant to have dinner in the Hotel. We were so tired from the day that we decided that we would stay in and try it
Our experience was great. The waiter that served us was Ahmed
He was a cordial, very attentive and the service couldn’t have been better.
Thanks to Ahmed our dining experience was outstanding he is a total asset to the Hotel staff
On any return trips in the future we will certainly ask To be seated at one of his tables
Service was great, food was very good. Prices were what you would expect from a nice restaurant in a downtown hotel.
Excellent service, delicious food. Perfect dinner before a show
Nice ambiance, good service. Filet was not good at all, and it was swimming in sauce. The mandarin steak skewer my husband had was good.
This is our all out favorite breakfast spot in Boston.
Wait staff are amazing—always remember us from one visit to the next and anticipate what we need.
Ahmed, our waiter, was exceptionally eager to please, professional, and an excellent waiter.
We were glad to have him as our server.
Food wasn’t great fish tacos were bad
Steak was too salty
Not a very extensive wine list, limited choices. Calamari app was good but fish tacos were a bit bland & steak was just ok. Boston cream pie was very cold, almost frozen & lacking taste.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. No need to leave the Hyatt when the hotel has such a good restaurant. I look forward to their pre-pandemic menu, which featured a particularly good fish and chips option.
The service was impeccable and the food was amazingly delicious
Terrible wine! Food tastes horrible! Went with 2 of my friends and we all agreed it was a terrible experience in food and wine! (We all had different wine and food and after tasting each of the foods we all agreed on the same thing! Do not go there. However it was affordable
Had a discount voucher for a three-course meal. Food was very good, as was the service. Menu almost too diverse, but understandable that the hotel is trying to please everyone. Ambiance a little lacking but overall a good experience. Definitely worth a try.
My wife and I always eat here prior to shows at the Opera House. The restaurant is not noisy, the service excellent, food excellent. All in all a nice experience.
Perfect place for a business luncheon. Food is always fantastic and service exceptional.
Our dining experience was fantastic. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
Room temperature was too cold. Some people were wearing their outdoor coats to try to keep comfortable.
Overall, seemed overpriced.
Food & service was very good. However the restaurant was not busy yet they sat a table of 8 which included 5 rather very unpleasant children right next to us.
Excellent service and menu options. Food can take a little while, but it's the right temperature to eat as soon as you get it. Very carefully and well made. Definitely recommend for a date night or special occasion!
Attentive, knowledgeable staff. Nice pace. Never felt rushed. Food was delicious- every course. Great selection on menu where one could choose from 5 Boston neighborhood-themed selections. We would return:)
The drink quality was mixed depending upon the drink ordered. There were 4 of us and two were happy, two not.
Same with the good quality. The menu was great but the execution uneven. Steak tips were tiny chunks of meat, I would rather have paid more for actual tips. The risotto good, but very garlicky. The cod and salmon were great and the chicken was very tasty.
Wait staff was inattentive and confused by my daughter's order of a simple burger and fries. Food was mediocre at best. I had a Caesar salad that consisted of a bowl of lettuce, five small slices of cold chicken, a few thick slices of parm, no croutons, and some goopy bottled dressing, and it set me back $20.00. The setting is uninspired, very "two star hotel restaurant" ambiance--you could be in any city anywhere. When dinner was over, the server brought me someone else's check. Overall, a lousy experience for a $60 + tip meal. I made the reservation due to proximity to the Boston Opera House. Won't make that mistake again.
Very nice meal, although service a bit slow. I thought the menu was interesting and fun. Convenient location as we were headed to the theater.
Thank you very much for dining with us and for your feedback! We are glad to hear you enjoyed the meal as well as the menu! We apologize you experienced slow service during your time with us, we are always trying to better our operation and we will share your comments with our team! We hope to have you dine with us again in the near future! The Team at Avenue One
There sea a hair on my plate that the manager pointed out it was a red hair I have red hair but the hair was clearly black. Rude beyond rude. Even if it was red , who points that out? Did he think I pulled it out of my head and put it in the plate ? We had a show to get to why fool around with time constraints? Rude
Thank for this feedback as it is imperative in helping us identify which areas of the operation we are doing well in and, most importantly, all the areas we may improve upon. Allow me to apologize for the experience you received. We will be looking into this matter further. Based on your date of visit and internal communication, we were glad, at least, that the supervisor was able to expedite a new order and remove the meal from your bill completely free of charge. Thank you again, Avenue One
Exceptional service and food. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning.
Good Afternoon, Thank you so much for dining with us as well as the review! We greatly appreciate your kind words and they will certainly be shared with out team. We hope to have you back sometime soon! Warm Regards, The Team at Avenue One
This restaurant is a refreshing change from a few of the 5 star restaurants I frequent such as Davio’s Italian Steakhouse where the price is higher and the serving size is half the size of our experience here. This restaurant was a great value along with the 5 star quality experience.
Good Evening, Thank you so much for dining with us at Avenue One. We appreciate your kind feedback and your review has been shared with our team. We hope to have you back again soon! Warm Regards, Your Avenue One Team
