We've eaten here a few times and always had a good meal. The prices are reasonable, the menu is diverse and the food tastes good, which is the name of the game.
The food wasn’t great. The fish tacos were loaded with cabbage that tasted dirty and there was barely any fish. The pizza was good. The service was slow
The drinks were good but the food wasn't. My friend ordered a steak "medium" and it came out rare with no taste. I ordered chicken tenders and they were burnt. I had a second reservation for later this month however I've already cancelled it since I didn't enjoy the experience.
Service is good and the food is good but portions are small and over priced.
Great server— Trevor
Avenue Kitchen always serves fresh food and offers incredible service
I have been to Avenue kitchen a number of times and find it to be pleasant with food that is excellent. I like the brightness of the restaurant. I can at least read the menu! I have told many friends about it and they plan to check it out.
Food was good, but small portions.
Avenue is my "safe" place to eat. Food is delicious as well as very nice staff! Gluten free options are terrific and they are very accommodating when you have a food allergy. BEST cappuccino as well!
The seating and service were excellent. Crab beignets were tasty appetizers. The chicken marsala was good but accompanying potatoes were saltier than expected. Blackened fish tacos were great, but three rather than two, would have been more of a meal. These minor gripes aside, it was an enjoyable visit and we will be back again!
Christie was a really nice server
Not fabulous like usual. Waitress disappeared for way too long to let us decide on our order-thought she may have left?
Fish Tacos very disappointing; few little pieces of fish and mostly lettuce, etc. And only two tacos. $17 because I swapped fries for a salad (extra $4-no mention of up charge).
We still love the place but will stick with what we know is great-the short rib, the scallops, yum.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Whenever I had poor service, I always overlooked it because the food is outstanding. but today marked the day I decided I won’t go back for a very long time. We made a 12:15 reservation. Got there, waiter was putting down our drinks, and the tray tipped dumping water, iced tea and broken glass on me, my husband and daughter - along with my phone on the table and my purse on the chair. I know it was an accident. I know he didn’t mean to do it. But my issue was how they handled it. I was soaked, unbelievably embarrassed as patrons in the restaurant leaned over to stare at us. I just wanted to leave but I felt bad for the waiter and my daughter wanted to stay. They moved us to the next table over from the mess where we sat for a while, w/o our order being taken. Finally I asked to be moved to a booth - which didn’t happen until after I had to ask a second time. Then finally after being moved we continued to wait until 12:45 when our order finally taken. No appetizers. Just entrees. I never expect anything from restaurants - I wasn’t looking for anything - but I honestly was offended as I sat there in wet clothes and the waitress offered to take the hummus platter that my daughter had as her entree off our bill. I know she meant well, and I’m sure she believed that was the right response. But it wasn’t. I told my husband that’s it for me. As good as it is, the slow service, poor customer relations in that situation and just the overall irritation of having to pay for a lunch while being so aggravated, wet and uncomfortable made me not want to go back. Had that been Capital Grille, it would have been handled differently.
We have been here before and it was good, but the food this time was not great. Got chicken and waffles and the chicken was dry. My wife got the shortrib and potato bowl, but it was missing something, there was no contrast in flavors so it was bland. I was annoyed that the table we sat at was very wobbly to the point that out dishes would have fallen off so we moved to the next table and the same thing happen to the table next to ours. This is something that should be taken care of before customers sit down. I had high expectations and was just disappointed.
Nice casual attractive place. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Great food.
Always a great meal at Avenue. Love Gluten free options! Ambiance is great as well.
You must try the appetizers and salads! The taste is superb and the presentation delightful.
Had breakfast here today with my wife and 2 daughters. While the server was pleasant enough, the time it took for us to get our meal was horribly long, we arrived 10:20 AM and did not leave until 11:45 AM...and when we were finally done they mixed up our bill, gave me back someone else's credit card, charged me for someone elses meal and it took them 20 minutes to get that all straightened out, which they eventually did. The food was pretty good but the service leaves ALOT to be desired. It does not seem like anyone is in charge. Lastly, they charged me twice for a cup of tea...$3.00 for the first cup and another $3.00 for my refill. ..I've never been charged for a refill. Sorry to say, but we will not be going back.
This is the third time I’ve eaten at Avenue Kitchen, and it keeps getting better each time I go. This latest time was for lunch. The food was delicious - I had a turkey burger, and it was cooked to perfection, not dry in the slightest; my friend had a quinoa bowl that was much bigger than we thought it would be, also delicious. Our server was very attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant was full, but it was not so noisy that one had to raise their voice to be heard. I will look forward to my next meal here, and I will keep recommending it to friends.
I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but this recent experience was a disaster. When we arrived for our reservation, there was a note stating the restaurant was closed. I expect more from an establishment like Avenue Kitchen. I get it...emergencies happen but let your diners (and Open Table) know. We had tickets for an event so dining was time sensitive. Fortunately Harvest though jammed, was very accommodating. I've yet to hear anything from Avenue Kitchen.
Brunch at Avenue Kitchen is absolutely amazing! The Creme Brûlée Waffle is OUT OF BOUNDS. The sugar crust on top of the waffle is thick, crispy and delicious. There is a delicious creme that fills each of the waffle pockets and oozes out when you cut it. Talk about decadent and moist. Plus, the mimosa are awesome - not lacking on the bubbly at all. The staff was courteous, well trained, happy to serve us and very attentive. This place is a hidden gem!
I really like the concept of this place and the decor/vibe. Not that many decent restaurants around here have a solid menu including breakfast seven days a week! I love me a good cup of coffee, and this place did not disappoint on that bit. Unfortunately, however, it did pretty massively disappoint on a number of other levels. First, we made a reservation for outdoor seating for 9:30a on a Saturday (I know, who makes a rez for Sat bfast? But we did, because this particular Sat morn was that important to us). When we arrived, it was apparent that they had not adequately planned their table seating, because they could not seat us outside and unapologetically sat us inside. Oddly, however, they were not very busy at all. Service and attentiveness was slow and forgetful at times, being observably caught up by waitstaff/kitchen chatting. Potato latke with smoked salmon was fantastic! The fried chicken and waffle had a lot of potential, but chicken was overcooked and dry. I really do want to like this place and hope to see a month or two of consistent good reviews. But until then, I won’t be back.
This place is a hidden gem. The creme brûlée waffle is award winning. It’s was the BEST sweet breakfast I have ever had and I am a very picky diner. The service was great and the mimosas were fresh and not lacking in champagne. Amazing!
Cute restaurant and the food was amazing. My daughter ordered the Creme Brûlée waffles and they were absolutely amazing. My son and I left wishing we had ordered them. The service was exceptionally slow. It took a while for our server to come over and greet us and equally as long to return with our juices ,and to take our order. Other than the glitch with our server, which even that wasn’t too bad, I would highly recommend this place and the Creme Brûlée waffles
Quality of food has gone down. My sisters had hair in her french fries. Service was not great as our waiter was also the bartender during a busy time. Outside area had nasty looking debris on the ground that we had to look at while we ate.
Had good service. One person in party got violently ill after eating the short rib risotto. Believe it cld have been risotto. Didn’t taste right when presented so only took a couple of bites. As fast as the scallop dish, the side was very bland. And then for the fish tacos, only two were served, believe it should have been at least three. Ambiance nice. Pleasant wait staff.
Been here several times food is always very good our party was 7 people.
Reservation was originally for 6 people found out at the last minute (literally at 6:44PM for a 6:45pm reservation) that we would be 7 the open table App makes it very easy to update numbers.
We ordered salads appetizers and entrees.
Caesar Salads could have been tossed with a bit more dressing. Steak frites were very good but the steak was a bit tough this time as opposed to other time we have had this dish. our party also had the short ribs with no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp and grits.
Service: very good one of our tables tables was wobbling upon notice to the server this issue was addressed and corrected. Drinks were replenished generally without needing to call the servers.
They were seem to be out of everything from mango juice to chai tea and mocha cappuccino. The poor waitress felt horrible and kept apologizing on behalf of the restaurants poor inventory.
Good food but exceptionally slow service
Always a home run at Avenue Kitchen. Creme Brûlée waffles are awesome.
This was the perfect brunch spot for a Saturday! The inside is so calming and the food was great!
I had gotten a gift card so I was curious to try! My best friend loves this restaurant but I’m sad to say my entree wasn’t good. Let me say though our appetizer, roasted cauliflower was delicious! I had gotten the chicken sandwich for my entree and it was soooo dry and burnt. The fries I received looked like they were from the bottom of the bag, all broken. I’m glad I used a gift card because I will not be back to pay for dry and burnt food. Our server was pleasant though!
I have been to Avenue Kitchen several times for both breakfast and dinner. Recently, we went for dinner and we were somewhat disappointed that the food quality was not what we've come to expect. The scallops that I ordered were tiny, overcooked and nothing special. In the past, the scallops were one of my favorite dishes here. Will I come again? Yes, because I'm hoping this was a one time thing, but I won't order the scallops.
Food and service was great, would recommend to anyone. Nanci
The food here is always delicious and the service is excellent. I have celiac disease and they are always very knowledgeable and are very helpful in helping me make my choices.
Really? A dirty grimy used ketchup bottle? Clearly refilled- ugh. We have been here before and enjoyed it - something has changed. Very few people were here for a Friday at dinner. My husband’s Salmon portion was small - almost no spinach- tons of quinoa. My hamburger-ok - nothing special. Overall the restaurant seemed uncared for-dirty door, crumbs on the table-so disappointing.
The restaurant looked lovely, and the menu looked great, but the restaurant was very poorly run. We were seated for about 20 minutes and had not been greeted by a server. We flagged down a server to ask if we could place an order. Twenty five minutes later we still did not even have a glass of water, much less the drinks that we had ordered. We finally approached the hostess and advised her that we were leaving and to cancel our order due to the fact that we had been there 45m without as much as our drinks being delivered. Very disappointing as we were celebrating a special Fathers Day. Definitely cannot recommend.
Excellent food (gluten free) ! Hannah was our server. She was great.
$96 for breakfast for 4 is outrageous. Took forever to get coffee and $15 for a Bloody Mary that was undrinkable because the bartender had a heavy hand with the horseradish. Glad we had a gift certificate and that didn't come out of my pocket.
Quiet atmosphere. Went on a Tuesday night with some friends. It was lovely because we were able to talk and converse and not have to shout to each other. Food is excellent. I had scallops with puréed cauliflower and sweet Pairs which was amazing! Excellent wine suggestion from our waiter. Couldn’t be happier.
