My husband and I tried Avenue Italy for the first time on our anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The food was delicious and our servers were friendly and very attentive. We will be back!
This is the 3rd time that we have eaten here and we have always been pleased with the
service and food. I had the linguini and clams which were some of the smallest clams
I have ever seen, but they were tasty. Everyone else at the table seemed pleased with
We enjoy the location of the restaurant and the ambiance. The salads and pasta dishes are always great. However, prices continue to go up. The two of us were given two menus with different prices, and when pointed out they said we had to pay the higher price. Martinis are now $15! Ouch!!
An incredible meal, enjoyed by all. Was seated right away and the service was on par.
We had 2 dogs and they accommodated us quite nicely.
always good food and attentive service. we enjoy the wide variety of selections that still keep within the authenticity of the food. we really appreciate the variety of the selections while still maintaining the authenticity of the menu.
Great dinner, classic Italian comfort food. Bread could have been fresher. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Has a nice family fell to it and the food was really good.
Great swordfish picatta! Waiter followed our request not to rush our evening, it was perfect. Even gave my husband some extra pasta!
This was our fourth dining experience. Early dining opt for a nicer table choice, very welcoming. Calamari is excellent, one of the best! Osso Buco was very tasty, not salty. VService very attentive. Will dine again.
I love this restaurant. The waiters are wonderful and the food is outstanding. The only Italian restaurant that I know that has veal milenaise.
Our table wasn’t ready for our 7pm reservation. Hostess informed us that the restaurant was busy, that several 2 person tables had come in before us. She offered a table in a high traffic area that was unacceptable. It was rude that we were informed that our reservation would not be honored because others had arrived before us. The implication was that we were unimportant and should be satisfied with either waiting or for a sub par table. A man intervened and we were able to be seated promptly after I informed her I felt unwelcome and we would leave. What’s the point of booking a reservation on busy night to be treated like this? Our server was excellent, the food was great but we will not be returning.
excellent as always! the food is always delicious, price are right and always able to find a reservation for special occasions with open table.
Dined here a few times before...always 5-stars. Bit pricy but always worth it for the food and ambiance. Service is usually excellent. The runners and the hostess are always polite and inviting. My wife and I dined at this loc on Valentines 2/14/18. We sat at a nice table in the back of the restaurant, near the kitchen window. The waiter (who shall remain nameless) was rude, extremely pushy and verbally short towards us and others he was serving. It was evident, as we all looked at each other in amazement. I hope this was just a “one-off” as this is a nice restaurant and would not want to see them lose customers.
The food was okay, not great. The hostess was great! Our waiter was terrible!!! Unfortunately I don't have his name. He was grumpy, forgetful, not friendly, and nowhere in site after we ordered our food. Basically, he was not there - either in person or in thought.
My friend very clearly ordered the Ave Italy Salad which he proceeded to ask if she'd like a different dressing on the side rather than the one she'd asked for because the one she wanted didn't go with beets. Problem was that she didn't order the beet salad. But because he wasn't paying attention, he wrote down the wrong salad! And, by the way, she said it wasn't really all that tasty. I had the Quattro Stagione Pizza. It was okay. If they continue to keep this waiter, they should really think about training him MUCH better!
So, the food problems weren't even the biggest problems. After we placed our order and got our meal, which was brought to us by someone other than our waiter, we didn't see our waiter again until right before we left and even then he NEVER came over to our table to see if we needed anything or to give us the check, or to explain what was going on. We had to ask the bus boys for more water as well as the check!!!
There was a problem at the restaurant while we were there - the power went out. It caused the credit card machine to stop working. Did our waiter come over and tell us this? No! And neither did any else! A while after we finished our dinner and NOBODY came to check on us or to tell us what was going on, we told the hostess we needed our check. Somebody, not our waiter, came over and explained what was going on and gave it to us. Either his name or our waiter's is Filiberto which is the name on the check.
What it has going for it is that it's a beautiful, romantic venue. And I'm sure that the majority of the wait staff are great. However, we unfortunately did not have a good experience because of our bad waiter.
We had a reservation for Saturday night for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately the restaurant also had a big party and something happened to our reservation where we ended up having to wait half an hour for our table. No one explained to us exactly what happened, but they did what they could do to get us a table as quickly as possible. It was our first time there so we didn't know how crowded the restaurant would be; we thought we would be safe with the reservation. But the food was very good and the service was fine. We will probably return but definitely not on a weekend and we will make sure to eat a little before we get there in case this happens again. It would have been nice to get an apology and explanation for what happened.
Dreadful food, very rushed, over priced. A good Chardonnay Called Laguna.
Our waiter was Freddie, whose friendliness & attention made for a wonderful evening!!!
When we arrived for our 6 p.m. reservation, the restaurant was VERY noisy, so we took a high top table right at the window away from a large, loud group. The service was excellent (Freddie!!), the food was divine, & the Italian wine was one of our favorites!!! My husband had a made to order risotto, while I had a special, the Mediterranean Sea Bass with double vegies , as I didn't want any potatoes. Our appetizer was a Caprese salad that also included eggplant. Yummy!!!!
Our server did his very best but they were totally under staffed and it took all most an hour to get our dinner to us
Will never return to this over rated restaurant
Sax was much to loud to allow conversation
I had the special which was haddock. Perfectly cooked with tasty caper/lemon sauce. The brussels sprout appetizer was not as good.
Service was good. Our waiter anticipated requirements and refilled drinks frequently without being asked
Never seen a restaurant FORCE FITTING tips via iPad even for 2 people dining. Must STOP this practice.
Really love this place. Excellent food and great service!!
My second time here. Food was delicious. It was New Years Eve. So they crammed as many tables as possible in the patio. It was a little tight. Only suggestion would be to have the server step aside when you are handed the ipad to pay for your meal. Feeling a little rushed when determining the tip I was going to give. Other than that a pleasant experience.
One last thing the wine per glass prices were a little on the high end.
Food was excellent but the room was very crowded and too noisy.
Based on the online pictures we thought the restaurant would be more quaint and intimate but it is sprawling and feels kitsche. The food was fine but not special. This seem like a good restaurant to come with a large group and also a good family restaurant, especially if you have young children.
Had Christmas Eve dinner at Avenue Cucina Italy. Both the food and service were excellent. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion, or just a lovely evening out.
A very warm environment, lots of ambience. Food was great, personable and efficient waiter, great service. We go often and enjoy it every time!
Thank You for your good service. We will be there next month again.
We had never tried Avenue Italy, but some friends had said it was good. We were not disappointed. We will be back.
Great food, great service, gluten-free pasta tasted great.
Came here for a wonderful dinner with friends and family. The service was great! Timely, very polite, and helpful with the menu. There is something for everyone on the menu, and everything was good (I may have tasted everyone’s dishes). Very good wine list. I wish we could’ve saved room for dessert! Next time.
Wonderful ambiance, good service and good food. Great place to bring guests.
We have been here twice and haven’t been disappointed either time. I like that there are GF options. My husband likes the homemade pasta.
Love this Restaurant and atmosphere is beautiful food outstanding and service excellent.
Overcharged and did not find out till we got home. Waiter rushed me with my credit card.
Ave Italy is one of my favorite restaurants. It's always a comfortable and lively atmosphere with really delicious food. Elegant yet family friendly makes this a great neighborhood find!
Another great meal at Avenue Italy. Had a couple of our fave dishes, chicken parm and cannelloni, and weren't disappointed. Finished off with cannoli. Chatted with Chef Nimo, made Christmas Eve reservations. We'll keep coming back!
We had a great meal and the service was very good. Our second time there. We love it
One of our favorite spots. The food and service are always great and the live music for this last visit was very nice.
steak tasted great. Salmon wasn't too good. price was extremely expensive. this wasn't trump or terranea.
the server or manager brought us bill, he already included the tip on our bill. big mistake.
not going back there again. tips are unto the customers depend on restaurant's service.
