Food was good, but service was slow at noon on Sunday.

Food was good and got service quickly. But the prices were far too much for small portions. The large plate of pasta was smaller than salad and nearly twice as expensive.

Average hotel dining.

Good for family, had a booth. Food was good, portions enough, not large. Service great. Bar was closed- no cocktails unless you were went to the bar across the hall. Had adequate beer and wine selections.

Food was good. Service a bit slow and the restaurant wasn’t even full. Still drinks were good and the quiet gave our party time to talk without being loud.

I would never recommend this restaurant. We selected the restaurant because of its proximity to the National Theater and recommended by the National Theater. The evening was a special night out for a person with a disability. The quality of the food was "cafeteria" level and not at all worth the price and not what I would expect in a Marriott hotel. The presentation was poor, side dishes were cold, and we waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive with no apologies for the slow service. At one point the various wait staff were arguing with each other over the food delivery. The Marriott corporation should be embarrassed by this restaurant.

We went to Avenue Grill due to the close proximity to our hotel. We requested a booth and were told they "were all dirty". The restaurant was mostly empty. We were then seated next to a couple who shortly thereafter declared they were leaving as they had been waiting an hour for service. The gentleman told us that we should leave as well - we did. They had a very limited menu and the wait staff seemed unremarkable.

We needed a 'quick' diner before a huge cocktail party and though it was not a heavy time/filled location it took 45 minutes to get four salads. (one arrived without dressing!?!)
They were aware of the time crunch and though the server seemed to be checking constantly but no food. Our friends at another table finally had to leave as their food never arrived. We didn't want to miss the transportation to the functions so it was disappointing.

The food was good, but not special. A lot of reliance on salt for flavor rather than other spices or preparation skill. Meat was good, but crab cake was ordinary.

Made reservations for 4 people for a pre-show dinner. Arrived at 6:10. Waitress approached table at 6:30 to bring us 5 glasses of water, apologized that she did not bring enough and returned with a sixth glass for a party of four. We ordered our drinks and dinner at the same time. At 6:55 (25 minutes after it was ordered) we were told the wine was out of stock. There was no concession made to bring a more expensive wine to replace the out of stock bottle. When the re-ordered lesser expensive wine arrived the waitress broke the cork and was unable to open the bottle. Manager took the bottle away from table to the rear of the restaurant and opened it. At 7:10 we asked manager to check on our food as the show started at 8:00. 15 minutes went by where the manager on multiple occasions peeked out of the kitchen to see if our food had arrived. Finally at 7:25 we decided it was time to leave. We asked the hostess if we could pay for the partially consumed wine. She wanted to check with the manager. When we explained his hiding from the table she told us we could just leave without paying.
From the complaints around our table we were not the only ones having issues. I could understand if the restaurant were busy but only half the tables were filled when we arrived and by the time we left the restaurant was 1/4 full.
I have never walked out of a restaurant before as I used to wait tables and understand what it takes to please the public. This was a joke though. I expected more from the Marriott.

My friend and I had theater tickets and since it was bitterly cold outside we ate at the nearest restaurant. Big mistake. The waitress was pleasant and took our order quickly but it was downhill from there. We had 6pm reservations and barely made it to an 8pm show! I asked for a steak, rare, and was served a tough, over cooked blackened piece of meat. My friend ordered a burger and the bottom of the bun was black. Many people just got up and walked out because they waited so long. I will never return to this restaurant. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Made reservations for 6 before attending Les Mis, and our group was arriving from different places, getting caught in traffic and arriving late. The wait staff was perfectly balanced between attentive and patient. There was a nice selection of wines, the dinner menu was filled with tempting choices, and the food lived up to expectations—really enjoyable! The scallops with black lentils was delicious, as was the tenderloin. Cornbread starter was great. Portions were sized so you can still enjoy dessert without getting too full. Location is ideal for a bite before attending a show.

Ate here with our two kids (7 and 5) and enjoyed all the food. Service was attentive but not rushed. I had the lobster risotto and it was tasty. Husband ate the burger, and Kids had pizza and chicken fingers. Very happy we chose here for dinner.

Very nice experience before the theatre. Food was tasty and attractive. I had the rock shrimp ravioli, very nice but needed a bit more sauce. Food took a little long to come but was forgiven because the staff and everything else was great. We will come again!

There was only one waiter.....one server. The hostess pitched in. The restaurant was half a block away from the National theatre which was pre Broadway a hot new show that had gotten rave reviews. Should have been better prepared for the theatre crowd.

We normally use OpenTable to explore new spots and have had great success with that. Not this time! The description, menu and pics greatly oversold the restaurant. Maybe we missed it, but it wasn't obvious that this was a hotel restaurant. The food was typical hotel food...overpriced and very bland.

Avenue Grill is conveniently located in the Marriott Hotel next to National Theater. Unfortunately, that is really the only reason to eat there. The food is akin to what you would get at Denny's (and the ambiance the same, despite the picture on Open Table). Prices, though, will set you back over $100 for two (1 appetizer and 1 entree). Service is middling, but acceptable.

We went to the Avenue Grille before attending "FunHome" at the National Theatre. We were very pleased with food, wine and excellent and attentive service. The chef even sent out a complimentary appetizer of delicious fried chicken tidbits. Would highly recommend the Avenue Grille as a convenient, pleasant and enjoyable place to dine before an evening of theater.

Convenient to the Warner Theater. It was a nice lunch after the Nutcracker on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was pretty much empty. The food was standard hotel fare, but over server was very nice. However, I will look for a local gem ( restaurant) next time I go to a show at the Warner theatre.
