Great time and great service - waiter Eric was really attentive which is rare..
Food was very good, service was a bit slow. Interior could use a bit of an update.
What a marvelous experience! My food was absolutely delicious -- one of the best salmon salads I've ever had! The restaurant was quiet and we had a wonderful visit, and didn't feel rushed to leave. I will definitely be going back soon.
This is my go-to place when I want consistently great food and excellent service.
Avenue Grill is a great place to have lunch or dinner if you are near downtown Denver. After a visit to the Art Museum, our lunch was perfect. My Buffalo Stroganoff was a generous portion and very authentic. My friend ordered the soup and salad, a much smaller portion. Yes, we've enjoyed the Avenue Grill several times and always go back for more. We are never disappointed.
Great date night. Fast, professional service. Delicious food and drink for a great price.
Very good food, nice people
Fast service, slightly older crowd
We have been here many times and decided to do Easter brunch here. I would say that it wasn't run as smoothly with the big crowd as we are used to. The food was still great, however, we had to wait for our reservation and they were not ready for us once we sat down.
We love this restaurant and have been going for years. We made a reservation for Easter brunch. We had to wait at least a half hour for our table and were put in the back room. We wanted to sit in the main dining room. The service was okay. The food was cold and the eggs over cooked. Even on Easter they can do a better job. We may not go back after this experience.
Wonderful Easter Brunch! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Great service. An excellent choice.
Highly recommend! We had a great time for Easter Sunday brunch!
The usual reliable good food and drink. Excellent service.
Such a great historic space. Service was ungracious. Food was so-so.
Great fresh food and super service. Wait staff especially friendly and attentive. Vibrant atmosphere. It was nice to get a table near the back.
Lovely, sophisticated atmosphere with great food. Not loud music that makes it impossible to talk We come here often for this
We haven't been here in a very long time and we decided to try it since most downtown restaurants were booked for the time we wanted. It was my hubby's birthday but only one
that mentioned it briefly was the hostess. Not a big deal but surprised the waiter didn't
say anything. Oh well. I had the ahi tuna which was great and hubby had the prime rib.
Overall it was nice. We noticed the white table cloths are gone but not surprised either.
I'd not been to Avenue Grill before and was looking for a place near downtown to get together with friends who were visiting Denver on business. Thankfully I found Avenue Grill and read the reviews from other diners. I'm so glad I found this neighborhood gem. It was a fantastic experience - great location, wonderful and comfortable setting, with a really good staff.
The service is extremely friendly and helpful, but they'll also let you take your time and relax without trying to rush at all. Great menu selections, wonderful food, really good prices. I had the delicious salmon.
And always important for dining near downtown Denver - there's a parking lot just across the street from the restaurant with free parking for patrons.
This is my new favorite restaurant. We went here because it was Restaurant Week. I'm hooked and obsessed with this place now. I'm glad we chose this place so we can continue to go here again and again. The service is above and beyond anything I've had recently. The food is very flavorful, fresh, and filling.
Was disappointed in the food in general - I noticed several people at the table were reaching for the salt/pepper as it just seemed the flavors were missing. I had sesame encrusted Ahi Tuna and it was super bland, way too cool and not well prepared - the food is way too expensive to have these kinds of problem.
It was my birthday during restaurant week. The hostess said happy birthday.
Wonderful meal! It was a birthday celebration and they treated us very well!
Good meal, excellent service, nice ambience, and overall very satisfactory. A successful business meeting and enjoyable restaurant experience. High marks all around. Thank you. Sid B
We went for Denver Restaurant Week and were very disappointed. We were cold and wore our coats most of the meal. We enjoyed the appetizer, soup and dessert but we were really disappointed in our salmon entrees. The service was friendly but the dirty dishes were not cleared quickly and it wasn't busy so we expected much better service. We won't go make unless it's for lunch and we'll order the clam chowder.
The place was empty when we arrived, and after having their uninspired cuisine, it's not surprising. For a $45 Restaurant Week place, they need to do a lot better. The mashed potatoes were gummy and flavorless, their tempeh was the worst I've ever had, and the Thai bbq sauce tasted as though it came from a can. The veggies at least were fresh and tasty, and the dessert wasn't bad, but on thee whole a very disappointing experience.
Very good food and great cocktails at a reasonable price fir the venue.
Great UPTOWN dining experience in Denver! Eclectic bar atmosphere as well!
The menu has changed which us time because you want the menu to stay fresh. However some of the prices really went up. One person ordered the chicken potstickers, small Avenue salad with the steak, no drink. Her meal was only ok and cost her more than mine and I ordered the roulette sirloin. The steak was done perfectly and the vegetables were also a good consistency. One person ordered the salmon and spinach salad, it was pretty and tasted very good. The other person ordered medium rare prime rib. She told the waitress to be sure it was pink. The meat was brown. She sent it back. The waitress came back and said the chef told her he did not have any rare or medium. Service was fine and the waitress did ask if we wanted dessert, coffee, or after dinner drink. She was very pleasant.
A bit disappointed with the ambiance as showed tablecloths in picture but when we got there it was just plain tables. Then we were disappointed with the wait staff...she lost our meal order and had to retake our order after we sat there about 10 minutes. She forgot to bring a 2nd ordered beer and charged us after she stated she would take it off the ticket, did not know the menu, did not offer dessert, and a manager never came to check on our table. However, the food was a wozzier....all the meat was cooked to order, the seasoning was great on the steaks and the vegetables were very very delicious. We enjoyed the cheese tray!
So sorry to see how far one of my favorite places has fallen. Carpet was not vacuumed, restroom in need of serious cleaning and no paper hung for those using it. Tables need their tablecloths back and the lights need to be turned down low for this old dame of Denver dining.
Everything was great as always! The only thing is I feel the Avenue Grill is feeling a little less “accessible” since the prices have gone up on everything. I’ve been going here for 15 years and will still continue to go but just not going to go as often because of the price. Don’t misunderstand, I regularly spend lots of money on great dining experiences I just feel they are pricing themselves a little over what they should be.
We had a great dinner! Fast service and so friendly! We will definitely be returning
The accommodations were great. The bar is a mix of old style with class. The food is quality, and the service is great. I would recommend to anyone looking for a genuine experience.
Nice atmosphere, good food. An overall good experience.
Have been going here for years and enjoy the location and sitting in the window watching the people go by. It has always been consistently good. Great Martini.
Good service and food
The restaurant is in a beautiful old building - worth a visit for that alone! The hostess was very accommodating when I changed the size of our group when we arrived for our reservation (my bad...) Our server was very knowledgeable regarding both the bar and the food. The food was very well prepared. We tried the tuna, pork chops, burgers, and stroganoff. The only complaint was from the tuna plate - she said it was so good that she was forced to eat it all!!!!!
The Avenue Grill is located in a very historical building, which makes the ambiance quaint and demonstrating lots of character. The restaurant was able to accommodate our group of 8 quite nicely. However, even though they were not busy, they would not take a lunch reservation earlier than 12:30. Perhaps it is a scheduling thing with the staff and kitchen. Our staff person was very good and brought out orders at the same time.
Avenue Grill never fails to deliver great food and great service. A Denver classic worth re-visiting time and time again.
It was great - as it always is.... I love this restaurant - easy off-street parking, delicious food, and friendly service. Very consistent....
