Avenue Grill - Denver
The Avenue is a favored lunch and dinner destination among the uptown Denver business crowd, as well as a popular neighborhood bar and grill. What attracts them is the unpretentious, superior service, comfortable ambiance and delicious food. The menu is reminiscent of a San Francisco-style bar and grill with Asian and Italian influences. The Avenue Grill offers our diners free parking in the heart of downtown Denver!

Entrees were delish!
Ate there 10/1/19. I have dined here many times and the food is consistently very good. The host was rather "whatever" about seating us and I did have a reservation. He just handed us some well worn paper menus that should have been replaced a week ago. I was concerned that the restaurant was rather empty, we were the second table seated. The last few times I have gotten the same waitress, she's not the greatest but she tries. What I really noticed this last time is that the restaurant was quite filthy. I suggest doing away with the ratty green carpet which is caked with greasy "goo" and simply have the wood floor. Funny how a worn wooden floor adds character while a worn carpet is nasty. Of course, I will eat there again, I would just like them to take a little pride in their establishment. Upon departure, there was about 8 tables being served. It used to be much busier during lunch. Makes me wonder what's going on. My bill was $62 dollars for two hamburgers, a sandwich and one iced tea. Pretty steep really after you add the tip.
Nice old fashioned neighborhood restaurant with good food, service, and atmosphere. Not trendy and loud like a lot of newer restaurants. A real neighborhood gem.
This has become our go to favorite when we stay Downtown Denver. Free parking across the street is a big plus.
The waitress was slow in terms of approaching the table when we first arrived - took close to 10 minutes. Also trying to find her in order to ask for the check and once she took the credit card, it took her awhile to return to the table.
I have eaten there several times before and the wait staff were much more attentive to the customers.
Great birthday brunch! Th y even through in dessert for us! Great service.
We have always eaten at Avenue Grill and enjoyed it in the past. But the last two or three visits have been poor. This last trip 8-30-19 will be our last trip. The service was good, but the food was not. Filet steak was very tough to chew, the roast beef was full of fat and gristle, the potatoes were sticky and barely warm, the bread was hard aa a rock and the butter came with a hair in it. The key lime pie was excellent and cheap. The rest of the meal was overpriced. Our bill had a salad we did not order or receive. I'm very sad that one of our favorite places has declined so drastically

This is our favorite place for the last 20 years in Denver.
I/we have recommended it several times to several friends. This time the service was a bit slower than normal, which since we had 2 year old granddaughter in the party was a bit unsettling. The food continues to be very good. One of our favorites, " an old standby" when visiting in Denver.
Table for two by the window with shaken martinis. Doesn’t get any better anywhere else.
Great place, and even better food. The service was awesome!
Have been to Avenue Grill many times and am generally prepared to give it a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, this time we had a waiter that was more concerned about working the young ladies at bar than caring for table customers. As usual the food was great, this person must have been new or the restaurant was having staffing issues, none the less this wasn't the best experience this time. The worst part was that we had out of town guest in our party and prior to getting to the restaurant my wife raved about the restaurant and the service. Unfortunately, this time the service was a big let down.
Delightful Sunday brunch. I had the Florentine benedict but substituted Canadian Bacon for the pepper bacon. Superb! My husband had the French dip sandwich--yummy. We love that this is a neighborhood gem and we're within walking distance of it. It never disappoints.
Food was good, I loved the sea bass and the sweet potato mashed potatoes.
I love this place. Great food and service without the noisy, overly hip vibe.
I've enjoyed this restaurant in the past, however it was distinctly different at the recent visit. The waitress seemed overwhelmed , and our table was pretty much ignored... The cacophony from a nearby table made it difficult to have much conversation, as well. Sorry about such a negative review, but the management needs straightforward information.
Delicious food and excellent service. I will go again for sure!
The eggrolls were excellent. The clam chowder was very good. We love that the Avenue Grill stays the same. With so many new and hipster type restaurants sprouting up, it's good to know you can go back to a quality establishment.
It was my mom’s birthday and they took great care of her and great service. Would definitely recommend their brunch especially for the bottomless drinks and tasty food selection.
Excellent service! The food was outstanding and we really enjoyed just hanging out! Thank you! It was our 23rd Anniversary! 🌈♥️😎
The shrimp cocktail sauce was the strangest tasting I've ever had.
The beef stroganoff was somewhat tasteless.
Service was excellent and we still love coming here, but the last two times, the FOOD has actually been a question mark? New chef??
Consistently excellent service and food. I think folks forget about this neighborhood gem, but the Avenue Grill never disappoints!
Used to have great food, but now have gone downhill. Filet and sirloin were tough and flavorless.
Always reliably classy - from the food to the service & ambiance.
A good dining experience. Have had better. But this one was ok too.
The food is always very good. The restaurant could be freshened up a bit.
Great place and food
We’ve eaten here many times, but I’d never had their burger. In my search for Denver’s best I think I’ve found Xanadu.
I was so disappointed in our dinner. We have been here previously for lunch and were delighted. This time, the bartender was working in all roles and was nice, but trying to do too many things. Understaffed?
The utilization of microwaves to make food hot and get it out in a hurry is a real turnoff. Our apple turnover was almost unconsumable after being microwaved.
Not sure we’ll return.
We love Avenue Grill. Always good food and great service! Our favorites are the bison steak and lamb shanks. Desserts should not be missed super delicious and reasonably priced.
My husband and I had lunch at Avenue Grill after heeding the recommendation from The Warwick. Liked it so much that we ate here twice! Nice old fashion vibe with modern comfort foods and professional service. Location is an easy walk too!
Service was good. Food was hit or miss. Several items unavailable. The Bison carpaccio, the Lamb shank and the Sea Bass were on point!!! The bison stroganoff was great after a vigorous stir and added Parmesan. The lobster Campanelle and dessert options disappointing. Would try again.
Great wait staff. The Hollandaise sauce on the Benedict burger was cold and looked unappetizing. Floors and tables were dirty.
Calamari was delicious. I really enjoyed everything and we had a nice dinner.
It was a birthday lunch for coworker. I put it on reservation and they did not know. It looked like restaurant was pretty full and from what we could tell only two servers. Unfortunately the one we had was rushing around and I believe was bartender two. Ordered espresso drinks after and I think we got coffee and hot water for the americano. Could not drink it because glass cup was cracked but it looked bad. The lunch was very good but the dessert had a lot to be desired. We each took a bite and left it. All in all...food good, espresso drinks, dessert and service bad.
Beignets were very tasty starter. We had red and green burrito and huevos rancheros. Both were very good and red sauce had a smoky chipotle flavor. Only negative was coffee was lukewarm first go around. Interesting Bloody Mary bar with lots of options. Will return.
Although this place was long known for its vast bar selection that can no longer be said. They do not have any Guiness available at all. They no longer use white table cloths, just bare table. The silverware did not seem clean. My friend had to ask for three different drinks before the waiter and bartender could say that they had it available. Appetizers and dinner were really good, but overall the place has fallen off from what it was. It was not busy at all on a Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Always love the Avenue Grill - great food and service. A nice place to unwind and have a relaxing drink and meal.
Our server was outstanding, he was friendly, and gave us great recommendations.
The food was incredible. The lobster Campanella was the best.
