Avenue Grill - Denver Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely the best brunch in Denver ---and not only because of the $2 Bloodys, Mimosas, and Bellinis. Innovative selections, well-prepared and presented. Great service. Lovely room. Also wonderful for lunch dinner. Great wine list at all price points. Favorite drop-in spot in the City. The whole package.
I think brunch at the Avenue Grill is great. Interesting - and delicious! - menu options and great service. Haven't been here at other times of day but there was a nice-sized bar and with a few people watching the Broncos game and I imagine this is just a great neighborhood spot at times other than weekend brunch. The prices are very fair, too.
This is the second year we have gone for NYE. The menu selection is only fair and while the service is good, it almost feels like they are trying to get you out of there ASAP-- which they probably are! I love this restaurant but I will not go back for NYE. It just isnt the same. We had the duck, and it was really only just fair.
I have never had a negative experience here. I requested a booth for our party of 4 on New Year's Eve and the management sat us in the much coveted corner booth, where you can see and be seen! Our server was attentive, but not hovering. The food, which is always delicious, was exemplary. I enjoyed my Duck, very tender. My husband and one of our guests devoured te fork tender pork dish. It was a wonderful way to end 2011!
We hit the Avenue Grill once or twice a year on birthdays or anniversaries and always have a wonderful time. This time out, we especially enjoyed the pot stickers, salads, the salmon entree, and dessert. I had the mushroom ravioli and it was well-prepared. The carpaccio flatbread tasted good, but was a little light in the carpaccio for my taste. Our waitperson was knowledgeable and efficient, and in spite of being busy, was always there when we needed her and gone when we didn't. It was a wonderfully memorable evening.
Christmas Eve and the energy was high with several family groups celebrating. And celebrate they should - the Avenue Grill exceeded expectations. Solid creations from San Francisco served attentively in elegant surroundings. Go early or go late but go often.
I thoroughly enjoyed my most recent experience at Avenue Grill. Then again, I've enjoyed every dining experience I've had at this restaurant. My salmon entree' was perfectly cooked. The service was warm and friendly, the ambiance was just right for a holiday dinner.
This is the second time I have been to Avenue Grill and each time I was extremely pleased. Definitely a great spot to have a good dinner with friends or significant other. Their happy hour menu is fantastic and they don't skimp on the drinks, which is a big plus in my book. Very friendly staff. I can't wait to go back there again!
Food was Ok. Probably would not go back. Server was attentive but time between salad and main course was too long. Mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and the server said he would take care of it. He asked about dessert and then brought the check with nothing for the birthday. Food could have been better for the price.
Didn't recall anything that wasn't great, until I had to answer the 'Noise' question. It was quite difficult to hear each other. We were a party of 4. However, most of the difficulty was probably due to an over-boisterous table (of 4) nearby. The gentleman was incredibly loud for any restaurant environment.
Quick service and I was very impressed with the food prep time, even for a busy lunch crowd. The restaurant overall was a bit noisy though to have a business meeting or business lunch, but all and all, a nice upscale place that you might otherwise just drive right on past.
Avenue Grill never disappoints. Had a terrific before-the-theater dinner. Wait staff informative, courteous, and attentive. Decent wines-by-the-glass menu. Good HH, martinis, especially. Had the special; tilapia w/ scallop and pilaf and roasted vegetables. Excellent and portion was generous. My friend had the mushroom raviolis with chicken; her favorite dish there! Beautifully decorated for the holidays.
I'm a bit conflicted here - the food was outstanding but the service... Some how we must have gotten off on the wrong foot with our server: he was inattentive, distracted, and seemed like he didnt want to be there. However - when he met someone from his own hometown (the cherry captal of the US) at the next table he was engaged and charming (even bringing them free dessert). Oh well, what can you do? I don't think we'll be back any time soon.
