My family had a wonderful time. Good food, good service, decent price for holiday buffet. Will come back for Sunday Brunch.

A nice little place....near the Logan Circle area and away from the downtown area. But a good find. Very pleasant and quiet with good food at an extremely reasonable price. If you want to get away from the downtown DC madness, give this place a try. A very personable staff will greet and take care of you. We enjoyed ourselves.

The was a new menu (as advertised) was amazing, and the food was extremely good, very flavorful. The service was top-notch and I had a great time here, it truly is a neighborhood gem. I have heard a lot of good things about the Sunday brunch here so I look forward to trying that out as well. After their newer renovations the place looks amazing, the tables are beautifully decorated and set-up. Everything, even the bar has been completely upgraded...would recommend this place to anyone

The food was amazing and the brunch was plentiful. It also came with a great value, with unlimited mimosas the price was great. The only problem was the restaraunt itself, the chairs are beat up and the carpet is worn out, it would be a great place if it was not so tarnished. Side note the place was uncomfortably warm and the management said that the ac would be fixed soon, so I hope it was due to the fact that it was really hot. Otherwise, the place was great the only downside was the ambiance, the servers were kind and the food was really delicious

We had spent the day volunteering for the One Million Bones installation on the National Mall, we were returning to our hotel , and passed the Avenue Cafe and Bar. Quite tired from the activities of the day, we decided to make a reservation there, since it was only a block from where we were staying. What a nice surprise ! We were warmly greeted by the staff, seated immediately, and ordered our beverages. Our order consisted of the pasta special, as well as ,the braised short ribs. Both meals were excellent, with the short ribs being among some of the best I have had. The servers were quite attentive without being overbearing. We would definitely dine at the Avenue again.

The menu is very extensive and I had a hard time picking just one thing. The portions are substantial and the value is exceptional. The ribs were very fatty, but that was my only bone to pick (so to speak). Recommended.

I chose this restaurant because I had a large party (15) on a Saturday evening in downtown DC. The location is great...just a few minutes walk to the bars on P St. at 15th St., but the food was just average. Typical American fare of burgers, chicken breasts and cheese steaks. No one had any complaints about the food quality, but it was nothing extraordinary and the food service was fairly slow. Our server seemed totally overwhelmed and, therefore, drinks went unfilled and it took forever to get the check.

Our family dined at Avenue Cafe Bar and Grill for their Mother's Day brunch. Upon arrival we were immediately seated at a table reserved with my name on it. This was a nice personal touch. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Very nice that the manager took time to stop by each table to ensure customers dining experience was going well. The food was good and included the typical buffet offerings, including an omelet and meat carving station. Mimosas and champagne was included in the buffet price. Our only complaint was the pancakes and waffles on the buffet were cold and a little hard. The cafe should consider only preparing waffles/pancakes as patrons orders them. Overall the food and service was very good.

I had a great time at this restaraunt, the food was excellent and the ambiance was great. The restaraunt jut underwent some major renovations so the place looked amazing. The service was extremely good. The waiters were very kind and pacient and knew a lot about the menu. I had a question about some of the food and the chef personally came out to talk to me. I had a great time at this restaraunt and would recommend it for anyone.

I went here because they had a 1,000 point promotion. My first impression was that the front door to the place was locked even though they had a sign that said open. I was confused so I walked into the hotel (Holiday Inn) and entered through the side. I arrived at noon so it was weird that this door would be closed as it is the street entrance. I was the only person in the place when I ate lunch. The menu has plenty of choices and the food was prepared well. The service was perfect and the pricing appropriate. I just wish they did a better job filling up the place so it didn't feel like such a ghost town.

The food was horrible! The worse that I've had in Washington and I've been here 30 years. The rice that came with my crab cakes must have been sitting around since lunch. There was obviously no concern about food quality.

This is a hidden gem! The welcome was fantastic and all of the staff members were extremely pleasant and accomodating, several going above and beyond. Th place itself is small but comforting and the food was flavorful(especially the pasteries-which they make in-house fresh daily YUMMY!!) They even make eggs to,order not just omelets(how fantastic is that)!

This is a must visit brunch location, the price is right, the service devine, food delicious. I give it an A+. My mom is wheelchair bound and they went out of the way to accomodate her and paid her extra attention. WOW!

I was super impressed by this restaraunt, this is the first time I ever went here and I was blown away by the amazing food and service. I was recommended to come here by a good friend of mine after he went to the brunch here and had an amazing experience and I regret nothing. The service was superior compared to all of the restaraunts I had recently went too. The chef even came to my table to talk to me in person, he did the same for many others as well. The food was just delicious and wonderfully flavored. I look forward to coming to this neighborhood gem again because I'm sure it will be yet another great experience.

Overall, it was "meh." There was no one there and we were able to get a large party seated quickly, but it took them over 45 minutes to make the food, so I assume they had to start the burners in the kitchen and wake the chef since we were the only people eating. The lights also were flickering a lot, which made several of our party uncomfortable. We went there out of convenience and because it was 8 pm in Logan circle and there were waits everywhere else.

After their recent renovations, the whole place is sparked with newfound life, the restaurant went from good to amazing, the staff are still just a friendly and carrying and the food is only getting better. The bar is and has gone through some seriously awesome renovations. This is defiantly my new favorite place to eat. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone, it such a nice place.

Very happy with the service, menu, and food. Great place to eat that you might just miss. I highly recommend stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I had both breakfast and dinner there during my stay at the hotel and I was not disappointed.

I took my family to the Thanksgiving buffet. They had our table waiting on us by a window like we asked. The staff was very nice. The buffet was great and had just enough options. I recommend this if you are traveling with family to DC during this holiday. We did not stay at the hotel but it looked very nice and updated. I will consider it next time.

My family went here for our first Thanksgiving Day dinner at a restaurant and it was a fabulous experience. I am not one who normally likes buffets, but this was was very clean and the food was quite good. With the exception of the turkey, everything else was seasoned quite well. My favorite food item was the carved roast beef. It was OUTSTANDING! My favorite thing I will remember was the OUTSTANDING service. From the time we walked in the door with a resounding greeting by the manager, to the time we walked out with several hardy goodbyes from the waitstaff and bartender, it was wonderful. Again, this was Thanksgiving so imagine my surprise when we walked in 5 minutes before our reservation, to find the table ready without NO wait!

We had an stupendous time. the brunch was positively excellent and the service was great. the waitress we had was really nice and quite fun to be around. to top of the food there was a unexpected bottomless cocktails feature in the brunch package. The price was defiantly worth what we paid and We walked away feeling stuffed and chipper. I would really recommend this restaurant to anyone. All in all we had an exceptional time.

Amazing, we were at Avenue Cafe for dinner, and I have to say we are quite surprised to see such admirable dishes and light-hearted service. The food was just as good as it looked, which is to say, excellent. the price was definitely reasonable and we had a great time at this restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
I've also heard good things about their Sunday brunch from a few people i know and look forward to going to one.

We had reserved based on their online cherry blossom menu, but the waiter did not mention that menu and we had to ask for it. When we placed our orders the waitress said we could chose 2 sides from the regular menu... but forgot to mention the sides described on the cherry blossom menu would be missing. We were quite surprised when our entrees were brought, since we had bare pieces of fish or meat as ordered, 2 plain sides and nothing else. We asked for the exact dishes that were described on the menu and got only partial and cold sides. The manager explained there was a misunderstanding with the chef. I actually suppose there was no chef at all in the kitchen. We ended up paying only for the wine, but that was a dreadful experience.

We actually enjoyed it so much that we ate all our meals the entire weekend we were in DC at the Avenue Cafe as we stayed at the Holiday Inn. They even had a great Easter brunch which we all enjoyed. The staff was amazingly friendly and took good care of us and our 13 month old daughter. The bartender is super friendly and pours a good drink.
