   Well, lets just say that we were looking forward to a night of celebrations and good food. It was my husband's 50th. When we arrived at the restaurant the doors were locked and the restaurant was closed. There was no one in sight. How did you- Open Table not know. We received confirmation emails and everything in between. Now you are sending me this review and this is very ironic. So please in the future check to make sure the restaurant is still open and running.

    It's a beautiful space and the food was good but the music was spun by a DJ and way too loud to converse over dinner. It got so loud we had to cut our dinner short and ask for the check before dessert. It's unclear whether they want to be a club or a restaurant. Too loud for our group of eight to even hear the people sitting across from one another. Won't be coming back here again.

    We went to dinner before a show so the restaurant was quieter than when we returned later that night to get our car. That being said, the ambience wasn't too loud later in the evening where you couldn't have a conversation. The food and drinks were tasty. Ordered the gnocchi, which was cooked perfectly with a meat sauce. The sauce was a nice compliment to the dish and didn't over power the pasta. My wife had the risotto which she said was delicious. We shared the meatball appetizer to start - the meat is mixed with raisons which added a good texture and sweet taste to the savory of the meat. Certainly would go back next time in Hollywood.

    The only thing better than the food is the ambience. Everything about this place pulls you away from the crazy Hollywood strip and transports you to a culinary oasis. I will undoubtedly be coming back here. Perfect for a group occasion or a simple dinner date.

    It's rare that I'll give such an outstanding rating but Aventine as a whole deserves full praise. From the hostess to the table to the service and staff to the food - I have had nothing but good things to write. The restaurant is well set up in swanky decor.

    Great food, great service and intimate for a date or when you just want a quiet meal. We've been here a few times and it never disappoints. They want to make you happy. Substitutions are welcome. The bread is amazing. The dinner salad was delicious, but you may want to split it as it is large. I ate the entire salad with no regrets. Wine suggestion was spot on.

    I had been meaning to check out Aventine for a number of years and was not disappointed. Comfortable, relaxed locale with very well done food and excellent service. Would go there again in a minute!

    Loved the ambiance! Staff was friendly and kept checking back in, no pressure as we were so indecisive in the beginning! Loved the whole set up of the place, just lovely outdoor seating and while the restaurant was happening it wasn't crowded or obnoxious. Can be great for a date spot, place to catch up with an old friend, or a pregame spot with friends!

    Went on saturday and they had a dj spinnning 80s tunes remixed with today's beats. Was a bit on the loud side and dark but fun. Food wise, meat ball was good, short ribs were good and there was a lot of it. Wife's lasagna was mostly sauce, couldve used more pasta.

    We went here on a Saturday night. I had organized a party of 15 people. We had never been here before and everyone loved it. Biggest complain was the music was TOO LOUD for a restaurant. We made due but it's not a club and not sure what the thinking is behind the music levels. Other than that our waiter was amazing and handled everything beautifully. The food and wine were good. The atmosphere was beautiful. Our group had fun but we had to scream at each other across the table so it made us get up and get closer to talk. Maybe that's a good thing.

    I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day. She was very pleased. The food was great and the space was gorgeous. We loved the hanging lights mixed with the moody, but not too feeble lighting of the whole place. The music was a bit more on the trendy side than we would have preferred, but I suspect we're in the minority on this. Overall, it's a great place to take a date for a special occasion without totally breaking the bank.

    Valentine's Dinner ! We had a reservation at 9:30 pm but arrived 30 minutes early because we were starving. They sat us down as soon as we got there. Food is always good and the ambiance was upbeat. Oh, and they handed roses to the ladies!

    Lovely staff accommodated us and our baby, he did keep quiet and our reservation was early, but they were really nice about having him there. Great food, lots of options, mostly hearty Italian choices. We did have the avantine to start and it was good. The patio is very nice and is recommended for dates. Parking is difficult in this area even on Sunday so arrive early. Their valet was full or not working at 6pm.

    I would recommend and I would go back. The atmosphere was so cool! Loved the old movies playing on the screen. We sat on the patio and it's breathtaking! It was lightly raining and chilly outside so when the host recommended the patio I was hesitant. So glad we sat out there because the heaters work VERY GOOD and I was very comfortable. I wished there were more people in the restaurant to look at, lol, it was not a busy Tuesday night. The server, drinks and appetizer 'Burrata' were wonderful. I didn't care for my main entree. I had the salmon and it was very fishy, yuck. It came with veggies that were okay. I thought potatoes were supposed to be on the plate too, but no. My friend had the Risotto and said she wouldn't order it again. I would go back and try different entrees.

    My best friend and I found Aventine on an Open Table search since it was his birthday! We were sooo lucky to have found this romantic yet fun restaurant with beautiful food and amazing food! Eventhough we arrives 15 minutes late, our reservation was still held and service was perfectly paced. Food arrived in time, waiter was friendly, but the highlight of the evening was definitely THE FOOD. Dying to go back for the brunch and lunch at the patio! It was our first time in LA and we were lucky enough to dine at such a wonderful place!

    Beautiful restaurant with a lovely ambience. I enjoyed the lasagna with baked cinnamon. Delicious dessert as well. A heart shaped mousse of some sorts. My BF enjoyed a pizza where he said the dough melted in his mouth. Very good wine selection as well.

    The drinks were far and away the best part of the entire experience. Heavy pours, well-mixed cocktails. Alas, the rest of the experience, not so much. The customer service was abysmal and glacial. It took forever to be served despite the empty bar and we were seated inside despite making a reservation well in advance and requesting patio seating. I understand the patio is first come, first serve, but we felt ignored and slighted nevertheless. The overall ambience was more suited to a bar / club (admittedly it is in the heart of Hollywood) than an upscale Italian restaurant. I dig DJs spinning block rockin' beats as much as the next club kid, but pulse pounding EDM doesn't pair well with a fine Italian red and polite conversation. And then there's the food. It ranged from mediocre to rich and leaden.

    It's too bad -- the place is beautiful and the staff works hard and graciously -- but whoever is in the kitchen or buying the ingredients clearly has no interest in coming close to the way the food is priced. Avoid this one.

    Probably one of the prettiest restaurants in Hollywood with authentic Italian food and fantastic service. The outdoor patio is beautiful! The scallops and homemade pasta are to die for as well as the pizza and truffle popcorn!

    All i can say is that, if you're lucky enough to get the giant/buff Italian waiter you and your date will have a blast. I can't think of a better word to describe him than "adorable"! He was friendly and smart but his accent and mannerisms when describing dishes and checking in on us made us smile in a good way every time. So welcoming and sweet! My girl and I will be back & we're asking for his section!

    We chose Aventine to celebrate a friend's birthday in your outdoor courtyard. The table placement, reclaimed wood floors, trees, candles and lights make for a fantastic outdoor dining experience with the heart of Hollywood's new highrises going up around it. Our waiter was friendly, and connected with all four of us instantly. Our food was prompt and delicious. The cocktails from the bar were creative and top-notch. I'm looking forward to going back, to try more items on the menu and some wine from their extensive list.
