The Third Branch of Aventine opened last Spring in Glen Ellen featuring a full bar, brewery, and farm fresh to table dishes by Executive Chef Adolfo Veronese. Located in the historic Grist Mill in Glen Ellen, Chef Adolfo and his partners, Rodrigo Nevado and Gian Paolo Veronese, create a modern interpretation of the Italian Osteria experience where old rustic and familiar style is fused with the bounty of flavors native to beautiful Sonoma. The food, in general, was great. However, the pricey tuna crudo appetizer was far below par. The tuna was not as soft and melt in your mouth good as usually presented at a highly regarded restaurant. It was drowned in a soupy sauce which may have toughened the bite...not sure.

That said, every other item we chose was excellent, especially the Aventine meatball and the Burrata appetizer.
Our server was experienced and excellent.

My husband had pizza, which was done to perfection. I had chicken which was well seasoned and plated beautifully and quite delicious. Our guest had gnocchi and loved it. Our server was attentive and adorable. The only negative was the bread. It was cold and tasted stale.

I had long wanted to try Aventine in Glen Ellen and finally found a reason to stay in the area, which meant I could have dinner there. It was outstanding in every way. The food is divine. Also I tried one of their unique cocktails, which was totally worth it. I couldn’t have asked for a better meal. Will definitely go back.

Came back for a 2nd time because the Gnocchi was soooo good! Fresh, perfect bite size pillows that melt in your mouth. Lots of wonderfully full flavored items to enjoy, including the deserts. If it's warm, eat outside on the patio and enjoy a stroll along the walk way where you'll enjoy many creative sculptures.

The menu has new creative dishes and even old favorites, all with a fresh spin; there is something for everyone, even the pickiest eater. Grab a group of friends and go!

The food is excellent, but I gave it a four star because the selection is very limited for an Italian restaurant. Very good atmosphere and the very nice people.

Aventine is still defining itself here in wine country. It's got a good local vibe but also needs to appeal to tourists; the menu has shrunk recently but the selections are still cosmopolitan, with enough variety, authenticity (Italian with a twist) and originality to encourage frequent visits.
We had a lobster risotto "divine" and a spicy chicken dish followed by a truly fantastic butterscotch panna cotta. Whew.
The bar is wonderful; experienced, professional treatment of classics and the custom crafted drink. Wine list is certainly adequate, not extensive. Hope they recover from the one month wild fire evacuation. Business needs to pick up. But we need this restaurant here: it's solid, dependable and charming for a special event or just a "can't face cooking" kind of night.

Amazing steaks! Great value on wines by the bottle-it was Wednesday so bottles were 1/2 price!! Lauren, our server, was the best! Knowledgeable, friendly and lots of fun!

Since it opened some time ago, we have been pretty steady. They have dropped lunch, dropped brunch and the quality has diminished over time. It seems as though they are in trouble and the seams are starting to show.

Outdoor dining was beautiful but the flies were horrible.

Our waiter hovered over us while we worked out splitting the bill, rather rude.

The food was average, it did not WOW us.
