Avellino Ratings and Reviews
We go to Avellino's repeatedly for the excellent quality of the food. We like always sitting in the same table in the corner. The experience is rendered even more pleasurable by the outstanding quality of the staff. We always request the same waiter because he is professional, and interesting to talk to. We wish there was more time to chat with him. We are also privileged to enjoy the assistance of the younger Danny, who is also professional, friendly and helpful.
We look forward to returning, to try some new dishes, and continue to savor our old favorites.
7 of us went for dinner after a day of meetings. We had made a reservation for 5 and added 2 more with no problem. I and my friend both had the filet mignon which was some of the best beef I've had in awhile. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dinners as well and a good time was had by all. Our server was very efficient and friendly.
I would think if the restaurant was full it might get a bit noisy but that was not our experience. There was a decent choice of wine by the glass as well as good choice of beers.
The food was ok. Place was pretty loud. While it was busy upstairs. It wasn't busy downstairs. Yet we still had to seak loudly to have conversation. The menu was very limited although you could order from the upstairs menu. We had calamari it was very spicy and there was too much vinegar. Veal chope was beautiful and cooked perfectly but needed seasoning. My friend ordered pasta and she said it was hard. Could have been cooked a little more. All and all very overpriced for the experience. Will not be back
The food was very good! I would definitely go back and would recommend this restaurant to others. I enjoyed the Spinach/Pear salad to start. It was delicious! I tried a Seafood Fra Diablo pasta special. It was very tasty, but I would have liked it a little more if it were more spicy. The seafood seemed fresh and was cooked perfectly. Our server was also great and did not rush our evening whatsoever. The atmosphere was very quiet and nice.
WE ENJOYED THE INITIAL ATMOSPHERE OF THE DINING AREA, HOWEVER, ONE MEAL WAS DELICIOUS, AND THE SECOND MEAL WAS VEAL PARM THAT WAS "OVERCOOKED" AND INEDIBLE. OUR WAITER DID NOT OFFER PEPPER OR GRATED CHEESE WITH OUR MEALS NOR DID HE ASK HOW THEY WERE. IT WAS THE MANAGER THAT CAME TO OUR TABLE FIRST...BUT IT WAS TOO LATE TO GET ANOTHER MEAL (WHICH HE OFFERED) AS MY WIFE WAS ALMOST DONE WITH HERS. SO INSTEAD OF COMPING THE MEAL, HE OFFERED A "FREE DESSERT".
We moved to this area above a year and a half ago and found this restaurant. We went to both The Duck and Avellino's and were very happy with the experience and food. In the last month or so we've brought friends to both restaurants and were disappointed in both the service and the food. I was unable to eat my meal at the Duck. My meal at Avellino's was just "ok." We left saying that we wont be bringing friends and family here any longer.
This was our first visit to Avellino; we had heard great things! The food was amazing and exceptionally plated with plenty to take home and enjoy for the next day, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We will definitely be returning as this just may be our new favorite spot!
Went here for New Years Eve dinner and we're SO pleased. It was romantic, intimate, and lovely. The menu was sophisticated and I was able to get almost anything gluten free- the waiter explained it was all made from scratch and they had separate fryolators for fried items, as well as GF pasta and bread. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. The food was authentic and well crafted, and the wine and beer were excellent.
We chose Avellino's for New Year's Eve and we were not disappointed. It was exactly what we were hoping. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious and servings were very large. My husband and I both took home enough food for another meal.
We were seated in a small room with only maybe 8 tables. It was very nice and we could hear each other when we were talking. However, and this is no fault of the staff, a party of 6 came in and took over the whole room, chatting with another party and really disturbing a nice evening.
Other than that we are very excited about eating at Avellino's again. In fact, we are planning on eating there with some friends hopefully next week, possibly for my birthday.
I have been here so many times I have lost count. Love this place and the food is always top notch. We get great service and our waiter is always willing to go the extra mile to accomodate any requests. The filet is always cooked to perfection, and this time , it had a wonderful and tasty blue cheese sauce. We will be back.
Friday night date night with husband. Wanted to go somewhere new to us. Had been to Ugly Duckling and Whistling Swan and not kept up with change to dining rooms. This was yummy Italian food with enough left over for another meal. Somewhat more expensive than we were planning to spend that night but the extra meal made worth it. Only minus, thought background music a little loud.
Another great meal at Avellino. Four of us shared a couple of very nice seasonal salads, then on to veal parm, pasta and little necks, a specialty lamb dish, and gnocchi bolognese. All hit the mark and left no room for dessert! Service was spot on, as usual. Keep it up, Rico and Co.
We are frequent diners at Avellino's and did not find the food to be up to your usual level of excellence. The caesar salad was not fresh, and there was far more food, especially meat (=turkey), than anyone could possibly eat. Does this mean that all that food gets thrown out if the diner does not take it home? I would rather have quality than quantity. I am still eating turkey after two days. The liquor was overpriced.
The one consolation was that we were fortunate to continue to have Danny's excellent, professional service.
Always a nice night out for a birthday here. Wife's swordfish was some of the best she's had which is not always the case at other restaurants and the lemon risotto was delicious. My lobster ravioli was quite nice, first time I had tried this dish, garnished nicely. Caesar salad a tad disappointing with too many core pieces, should have been more leafy and more Parmesan. Server was very attentive and kept our water glasses filled. Whiskey sour was up to snuff and wife enjoyed a glass of La Linda Malbec. Desserts looked great but too full to partake but the ladies at the next table were enjoying theirs - and although they got a sampler for two extra was brought out for the three of them! That's the way to treat the customer.
Our visit was more than satisfying as usual. We tried some new items on the menu, and the staff was willing to accommodate some changes we requested. We plan to return for Thanksgiving - and possibly before- and many times after. It is our favorite place to dine.
My husband and I had reservations this past Friday night and it was so amazing that before we left we made reservations for the next night. I can't say enough good things about Avellino's. Everything from beginning to end was perfect! It's few and far between that you find a dinning establishment like this. If we lived closer we'd be weekly regulars at Avellino's.
