They forgot our deserts, spent more time on cleaning up on the patio for the next day’s breakfast then serving us dinner inside.
This “restaurant” needs to be totally revised.
Do not go until they change the management and service policy.
And the food wasn’t very good.
This is one of the best options in West side Los Angeles.
A perfectly prepared salad and grilled salmon were part of the DineLA menu. The dining room is quiet and the lighting bright enough but not too harsh the whole experience was quite French, which was perfect because my friend was just back from Paris.
I had Dine L.A. Menu which came with salad for appetizer and salmon for entrée. I could tell vegetable wasn't the freshiest and mustard dressing wasn't a good choice. However, salmon was cooked very well (the skin could have been crispier) and it worked perfect with the grain.
I expected the service to be more high-end, however it was more of casual. Servers were nice, but could be trained more professionally.
Overall - not bad. But once is enough.
Service seemed slow. Drinks took some time as well. The food in general was average at best. I’m not sure if it was because a new menu started this evening. We were underwhelmed. We won’t be back.
If you want to know what hospitality really means, then this little secret gem is the place to be. We enjoy being recognized by our first names every time by the entire staff. Always quick to assist us in whatever needs we have but also can quietly stay in the background for privacy. Will always be our spot for a stay in LA/Beverly Hills.
The staff was lovely, very polite and pleasant. Some of the items were good, but not worth the price, at all. We ordered the heirloom tomato salad which didn't actually have an heirloom tomato, it was a regular, unripe tomato. The avocado toast with egg was good. At the suggestion of our waitress, we ordered the coq au vin which was awful. Totally dry with tasteless vegetables. The steak frites ($52) was good. The cheeseburger with eggplant was oddly sweet (the eggplant must have been marinated in something). The creme caramel dessert seemed like it came from a tin. A very expensive and disappointing meal.
A gem of a place to meet for all occasion. I would highly recommend the restaurant to locals and travelers.
Literally the worst dining experience I can recall. Terrible service and the food is disgusting. The sauces taste like water. They definitely leave their good reviews. You’re better off going to McDonald’s.
Lovely meal and beautiful quiet dining room. We will be back.
Elegant, refined decor yet still feels California casual. Classic French dishes are fresh and modern.
Avec Nous is a hidden gem in Beverly Hills. The Easter Brunch was great! Very good food and service at a reasonable price.
We have also had several excellent dinners there.
The food was good. Heidi, my bartender, was amazing. Would recommend this place.
The change in management is obvious, comparing the restaurant now to previous experiences. The management seems more interested in making money off alcohol service to the regulars, than in general service and food quality control efforts. The waiter made us feel very unwelcome and unimportant. The food and service quality was poor - dry bread, ignored empty water glasses, grey bacon (indicating not enough contact with pan, hurried or inattentive cooking), no asking how things were. Took 15 minutes after we were clearly done to receive the bill or get plates cleared. The whole time manager and waiter were tending alcohol mostly two tables of regulars only, sparse service to all other tables. Alcohol is more profitable than food, and 'regulars' being happy is important, but letting it show in the food and service to this extent is not a sustainable business plan. Just make it a private club if that's the goal. Had planned to be a regular but won't return.
I sent my parents for their wedding anniversary. They thought the dining was pretty but nothing special. The restaurant had only 4 tables of people. The service was friendly and attentive as there weren’t many people. The food was good but the foie gras was beyond tiny. For the dessert they brought a “happy birthday” on chocolate instead of anniversary. They aren’t rushing back anytime soon.
Notified us two hours in advance of the reservation that the restaurant was closed for filming and seating would be in another location.
First and last time here. Service was terrible, food took forever to arrive and was mediocre. And the restaurant was empty, so it wasn't because it was busy. Will not return.
Great food, good service, lovely decor, recommended spot.
Service very slow . Salads brought without dressing, Food mediocre, followed by stale packaged (not homemade) cookies. But servers were pleasant. Nice ambiance and easy to talk to our friends but I was disappointed since some of the reviews said it was so delicious. It definitely was far from good. Won’t go back
Great customer service! Great food! I come here all the time because it's so close to work, but I love how quiet it is.
The service was amazing, the ambience was even better. The food was ok, especially for the price I expect the food to be on point. My pasta needed some seasoning and so did the yellow tail. The yellow tail could have had some type of side with it, maybe rice or potatoes even polenta maybe, but it needed more.
Service was off. Chronometer up off. Slow. Not paying attention to the order. Etc.
Disappointing. It was a holiday and the restaurant barely had any people, yet service was just sub par for the most part and slow. This is in regards to server, management was great and paid much more attention to detail. All or steaks were well over cooked but manager corrected that.
The food was absolutely fabulous. If you like real french food, then this will not disappoint. Service was very good. Only one drawback was that the red wine was served chilled rather than room temperature.
Great service! I was here two days in a row for business. I'll definitely be back.
Quiet night. Total 3 tables with customers including ours. Service was good. Food was ok. Wasn’t thrilled. Good experience.
It' s an hotel restaurant but it's very good. 2nd time there . French style food and pretty authentic. Wine list is a bit pricy, but tasty bottles around $70. It's not a steak house but one of the best steaks I've had.
Quiet. Romantic. Excellent food. Outstanding service.
2nd time eating there food is great both times service was lousy and the place was not busy not enough help or slow kitchen.
We had a great time The service was outstanding will be back soon
Somewhat disappointing. Food was just fair--escargot had almost no butter in the garlic sauce they typically come with. Waiter was competent, not super warm, and seemed overwhelmed with the number of tables he had to cover. Probably won't return at these prices and just fair food quality.
Food took 1 hour. Arrived cold and mostly mediocre. Below our expectations.
Everything was wonderful! The dynamic duo made the best margaritas ever and the service was exceptional! Would definitely go back😀
Avec Nous isnt bad - it just isnt very good, and with outstanding options nearby, there's simply no reason to go. The overall food quality was mixed, but not innovative or interesting in the least. The lamb chops were perfectly prepared and tender, but the side of mushrooms was very badly done: an incompetent job of sauteing left them sitting in a flavorless puddle. The pasta was fine, but not setting the world on fire. The escargot was off - in need of better oil and-or butter, and fresher parsley. The dessert - a chocolate-caramel mille-feuille - was excellent, and by far the best dish. The wine list is huge, with several options at and under $50. Our $40 bottle from Pays d'Oc was very good. Corkage is $35. Service was pleasant - curious to find an LA restaurant employing neither a smokin' hot hostess nor a 20-something wait-staff. The room has low ceilings, and a dated feel. Better to get a table outside if possible. The place was almost empty on a Friday night. Music wasnt too good, but neither was it too too loud. Plenty of free parking on Burton Way, and a valet too need be. No idea why they get a blurb in Angeleno - nothing about Avec Nous merits mention. With outstanding hotel-restaurant options like Culina at the Four Seasons and The Bazaar at the SLS so close by, there's just no reason to visit.
Beautiful venue, excellent service, incompetent kitchen.
This was a really great restaurant for date night and simply to celebrate life. Our server was really nice and she even comped one of our 2 desserts, just because we were celebrating life! My husband LOVED the peppercorn steak sauce. We will definitely be coming back here again
This was our first time at Avec Nous and we were not disappointed. Right now I think they are an amazing hidden gem in Beverly Hills, partly because they are not in the heart of Beverly Hills. Though we found the wine to be a bit pricy, the glasses we chose were of exceptional quality, they even let us taste before making a final decision. The dinner menu itself was fair priced with quite a few options. The beef tartare was listed as a small bite, but it was plenty as a starter. They even offered to bring more potato chips. I expected a handful more, but was pleasantly surprised when a small bowl appeared. The crab au gratin was delicious. My sister loved her burrata salad and margarita flatbread. We were not that impressed with the dessert options, perhaps because we were full. Hopefully they will make some alterations to it making it a bit more inspiring. We looked at the candy cart, but the options were not appealing to us. We will be back.
This was a wonderful restaurant..... the food was outstanding.... however, of you have a large appetite, order multiple courses as the portions run on the smaller side. The service was impeccable. The waiter knew when to approach the table and didn't interrupt our visit with friends. Altogether worth the visit and we will return!
We came for cocktail hour and had an incredible experience.
