Avanti Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I went with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday on Valentine’s Day and my experience was great. It was my first time there and I love it. It’s a great spot with live music and the food was delicious. The staff was very attentive and nice. It’s worth the price. We will be going there again
Service and good was OK, place was actually loud due to winter Olympic Games on TV and yelling at bar. Had trouble hearing my spouse across the table. Had a special request to write I Love You More! On desert plate but it didn't get done.........kind of messed up the ending of our anniversary date. Left $140 out of pocket for a night I won't get back
I have been here a half-dozen times and never had less than a 4-star experience, usually a 5. I was a little disappointed at first this time because I requested a booth in my reservation and they sat us outside, but less than ten minutes later the manager came by and offered us a booth that was opening up. It should be noted that I didn't have to say anything, the manager must've seen the reservation and taken the initiative to fix the situation on her own. That on its own was impressive. After that slight hiccup, in the beginning, everything else went perfectly. The service at this place is always top-tier and the food is excellent. We will undoubtedly be back again.
What a great place! Our party of 3 had a fantastic dinner here. We all got the arugula salad, then ordered the chicken parm, the grilled salmon with risotto, and the pepper steak special. All of them were prepared perfectly. We shared 2 desserts, the Kahlua chocolate cheesecake and the peanut butter chocolate pie.
Additionally, the service was excellent. We were very well taken care of. I highly recommend this place.
Very popular place with the locals, even on the weekdays, so reservations are encouraged. Excellent selection of wine, cocktails, and food for all to enjoy. The live guitar music is always a pleasure and subtle enough to enjoy a conversation. Authentic Italian selections from pasta to fish and meats for all tastes. Attentive waiters. Relatively small bar but fully stocked and you can even order a flight of scotch or tequila if you don't prefer one of the several craft cocktails.
As a repeat customer, I have never been disappointed at this Uptown dining gem. All items were reasonably priced too, depending on your wine choices of course. Highly recommend this place for an enjoyable, casual but upscale, dining experience!
Although the restaurant was fairly crowded, we had excellent service the entire meal. Our waiter was very attentive, but the servers work as a team, including the manager, who helped out and came by to chat.
The food was very good and we will definitely come back!
The ambiance was really nice and intimate, we decided to come here for my boyfriends birthday since he loves Italian food. He really enjoyed his dish, the fettuccini Diablo, I believe it’s called. I ordered the linguini and clams which was also delicious. For an appitizer I order the calamari, it was bad but wasn’t anything remarkable either. Deinfetly could've used some spices in the batter.
Our server, Martin if I remember correctly, was very nice. He took awhile to take our order as he seemed to get sat another time not too long after we got there. All in all, he gave good service though.
I may not return very soon just because of the price but possibly for another special occasion.
I visit here twice a month for so. I’m vegetarian I normally stick to my usual. Garlic load, stuffed mushrooms, wild mushroom risotto, and/or lasagna. My colleagues normally gets clams and chefs special. Bottle of tetuna il brichiato 2015 is perfect.
Little off on service once but good food so that can be overlooked.
This place is fantastic, perfect for a date night or any special occasion. The food is authentic Italian. Martin is one of the nicest waiter I have dealt with, very courteous, knowledgeable about the menu and has a great personality. The live music in the background compliments the ambiance. My only suggestion to the Avanti's management would be to change the complimentary bread that is served there. The bread is very dry, hence serving a rustic Italian or a baguette would be a better option.
We have been going to Avanti's for 25 years and it just gets better with age. The menu is authentic Italian with fresh and tasty dishes. A good wine list and great service. The atmosphere is good for conversation and a romantic dinner. We had two pasta dishes (Carbonera and Pescatore that were both excellent choices. The lamb meatballs are a good starter to share. The restaurant is a classic in a trendy area of Dallas and a solid choice for value and quality food.
We really enjoyed our New Years Eve meal at Avanti's. They had taken all their best dishes to create the NYE menu, so there were several choices, not just a few. Shrimp stuffed crabmeat, veal parmesan and crab/shrimp ravioli were all excellent! The shrimp and ravioli in particular were very rich. We had really nice service and the place has a great ambiance.
We were in town, over Christmas, for a football bowl game. We were so thankful that Avanti was open, and grateful we could have a delicious Christmas meal together. The food, from the appetizers to the entrees, was absolutely delicious. The wine list is extensive and well crafted, without being overly loaded with choices. And, most importantly, the service was friendly, knowledgeable and impeccable. Thank you, Avanti, for one of the best dinners we have had, especially on such a high holiday, when we were uncertain if we would find anyplace, let alone such a great restaurant as yours.
