Good bar food menu. Two nit-picky comments: Chips that came with the spinach dip were way too greasy. Filet tip sandwich was flavorful, but the steak was a little tough
My husband and I went to Avalon Links for Easter Brunch. The restaurant was crowded and a bit noisy. What we found was there was confusion and too many steps and ramps for older people to maneuver. Consequently, a lot of people used our table as they went around the corner as a way to keep stable. The food was adequate but nothing special and the "hot" items were mostly cold. Overall, it was not worth the money we spent. On a final note, the restaurant automatically put a 20% gratuity on the check which was not warranted. The waitress was nice but 20% is just too much for a brunch and there were only two of us, not a large party.
First time trying Avalon Links - for Easter brunch buffet. There was a juice bar, an omelet / waffle line, a hot buffet line and a cold buffet line. There was a 10:30am seating. The 4 different areas for food was helpful to not make it too crowded getting through the lines. The "hot" buffet food was not even at room temperature for most items we selected. The fresh fruit display was nice on the cold buffet. With the amount of people there, there should have been more omelet stations, as that was in high demand - since the hot buffet food was not hot and did not taste that good. I would not repeat for a brunch. Was also disappointed there was no desserts offered at all, just the muffins / danish at the cold buffet. And none of them looked very exciting at all. The wait staff at the tables were very friendly and helpful in refilling coffees, etc. It was a pretty setting, just would have preferred better quality of food offerings.
The "hot" food on the Easter Buffet Brunch table was cold. We opted for an omelet because we knew it would actually be hot. We did wait for 20 minutes in the omelet line. The only thing we requested of our waitress was coffee. We could not find her most of the time and the one time I did get coffee, it was full of coffee grounds. The biggest offense was that a 20% gratuity was added to our bill!! This was a buffet!!
We do not recommend.
We enjoyed our Easter brunch. However when we received our bill & noticed that gratuity was already included at 20% we weren't pleased. We feel as though being a table of 2 & seeing as it was a buffet we should have been able to leave tip according to service. Although our server was friendly when we were seated, she brought us 1 drink & never offered any more. She cleared our plates but did not bring our food out to us or take our order. She did not ask how everything was or engage in any type of conversation. Sadly we will not be back.
We came for an early dinner on Saturday. We were immediately greeted by our waiter, Tom. We both chose Prime Rib from the early bird menu. We loved the salad, especially the fruit mixed in with the greens. The homemade bread was warm and delicious. The Prime Rib was cooked to perfection, as well as the baked potato and broccoli, all very tasty. We topped it all off with delicious ice cream. What a delightful dinner! Our compliments to the chef! What a marvelous waiter! He couldn't have been more attentive to us! And we didn't break the bank! We will definitely be back again!
We keep returning because the food is always good, they have two early bird menus plus the regular menu and a wine list with many choices, good prices, really good homemade warm bread, and a pleasant atmosphere with an upscale looking dining room. We can feel comfortable sitting, having conversation, not being rushed, but also being taken care of. Very enjoyable.
The dining experience was very good...... Although this is not a complaint, when I asked for a 3:30 reservation, we were told that there were only 2 times available 4PM or 4:30 PM on Jan. 27th 2018, I called on Wed, Jan 24 2018. we arrived at 3:40 PM and were seated immediately.
we left at 5PM, that entire time there were at least 40 to 45 seats with no one sitting in them.
Which seems sort of odd that I was told that only two seating times were available 4 or 4:30
Avalon Links is my go-to breakfast place. Never disappointed and I LOVE their peppers/cheese/egg sandwich!! Nice throwback to when I was little
Holiday get together!
Delicious food! $25 complete dinner was an outstanding value plus half priced wine list.
We will be back!!
This is our choice for dnner on Thanksgiving. Been going there for several years now. Good variety to choose from at buffett.
Have never had a bad meal here. Wait staff is always excellent. Menu and specials are updated often. Mixed drinks are excellent as is wine selection. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and all were excellent. Visited in peak vacation season and off season. Always excellent.
Food is usually great here, just had a bad strip steak. Always come here for specials.
We usually have a good experience at The Links. But our last meal there, on Sunday, was below of what we expected. The service was very slow although they were not very crowded. The servers seemed very inexperienced. The server that took our drink order didn’t know what a tonic drink was, although she knew what a gin & tonic was. The food was good.
We always enjoy our dinner at The Links . Good service ! Good good! Early bird esp good. Like that u varied the early bird 🐦 menu .
The two orders of lamb chops came out over done and tough. They could not eat them. The 1st cup of coffee was over an hour old and stale at the waiter did make a fresh pot for us. The salmon was overdone it relatively small but the scallops were excellent.
We've eaten here many times and this was somewhat disappointing -- it's usually very good. We have a party of eight and three were not that happy.
Great place. Good food, reasonable prices. our server was great . Went for first time private dining. Had been in a group setting previously. will Definitely Be Returning
Very disapointed in the change in menu . All the things that my family loved (seafood pot pie, braised short ribs, one of the past dishes, oh and the duck breast to name a few) are all gone from the menu. I ordered prime rib and it was tough. Will never order again. This the 2nd time and the last. I might just go there to have the clams casino soup. Oh yes the soup or salad option is $2 extra with your entree unless it's one of the specials.
Our waiter handled our table of 10 perfectly. Such a beautiful setting on a lovely night. Food was great and such a good value. We come here often as a couple. Nice alternative to the high priced touristy restaurants.
Great food. Excellent quality
Service was understaffed and slow, the food was Bland and the whole process took a long time to finish.
Had a very nice meal and very reasonable at Restaurant Week.
Fun but management changing to different venue going forward. Also, check your bill for errors. Second time we did not get the drink discounts reflected on our bill.
No attention whatsoever was paid to the social occasion (birthday) stipulated in the reservation .
A wonderful spot for a romantic lunch date. The food was delicious, service great, and a fantastic setting.
Always a great experience.
We went to Avalon Links for the Mother's Day Brunch buffet. The food was very good and plentiful. Because there was only one morning seating at 10:30 am, it was quite chaotic in the buffet lines and service was slow since we all needed something at once. After the mad rush, everything was fine. There were only two of us for the buffet and the restaurant added a 20% gratuity. This was rather steep for buffet service. Also, there was a $5.00 charge for coffee on our bill. Really? Include that in the price.
Roast turkey dinner no longer comes with soup/salad. Disappointing.
Solid choice for everyday dining. Early bird specials (4-5:30) if you are so inclined. Been here for lunch and dinner and have never had a bad meal. Nice menu choices with daily specials.
Also open for breakfast, and the parking lot is always crowded at breakfast, a good sign with multiple local options available. Will have to try it for breakfast.
We asked for a table in a certain part of the restaurant and the hostess said it was no problem to accommodate us. The food was great and Jim Bannach completed the night was wonderful music and made it fun for everyone.
Comfortable, fun, and enjoyable evening. Good food good music good people.
Easter branch was done great. Would definitely go here again.
Usually the Links is pretty good. Not tonight. Started with a new hostess who either didn't hear or ignored our request to sit where we could watch the end of the Masters. When we ended up being seated in their overflow space. I asked why we couldn't sit in the main dining room where there are two TVs and there were empty tables. She said those tables were all reserved. But we also had a reservation. She didn't understand this and became defensive. She also stated she was brand new and was hired on the spot today after her interview. Can't imagine how she'll handle summer crowds. It wasn't worth further discussion so we just sat in the overflow space which had zero ambience. The waitress we had rushed everything, never refilled waters and was not someone who's ever waited in us before. The food was only fair. Usually the food and waitstaff are good but not tonight. We have enjoyed eating here for years but tonight was really disappointing.
great service and delicious lamb chops. Glad to find a restaurant open this time of year too.
Excellent food and service for a very reasonable price. I really like it here and I visit often.
Always pleasant to be seated on the porch. Friday evening can be noisy but the guitar playing classic rock and folk made for a mellow background.
Food was very fresh and delicious, very comfy large booths, great for conversation. Excellent service. Piano man very good!
Food and service were excellent. Great music was an added bonus that we didn't expect.
