Went here for my birthday dinner and had a wonderful time! We ordered pizza as an app, pasta as entree and flourless chocolate cake for dessert - all delicious!
Too noisy inside, so ate outside.
I liked my meal (oxtail pasta). My husband had mushroom pasta. He felt it did not have much of a mushroom flavor.
Our waitress, Stephanie, was very helpful, informative and charming.
Third time here but first for brunch. Never have had a good meal or attentive service but today was the worst. Won't be back.
Good all around
Great day! Came for brunch and was really impressed.
I. Love. This. Place.
Food, drinks, atmosphere, people. Top notch. And get the zeppoli for dessert. You're welcome.
Good restaurant, nice atmosphere. Went there for the NYE dinner and prices were good. Appetizer was good, got the octopus, broccoli and cheddar soup, frutti de Mari with pesto and the chocolate tartare.
The food was outstanding as always. Tommy picked an excellent bottle of wine for me. And it was great seeing Matt. Haven never disappoints.
Family together for the holidays
Very good trattoria type dining. Very large portions
We sat outside on a beautiful December night. Delicious food & wine as always. Large portions, took my fusilli pesto home for lunch the next day. We always try to come to Ava whenever we’re in Tampa. Enjoy!!
Food was delicious from the appetizers to the main dishes to the yummy dessert!!
We had a great experience. We had the stuffed pork chop, the salmon, and the mushroom pasta. Each was delicious! The service was attentive and was able to answer questions about the dishes.
Shelby, our server was phenomenal. Very attentive, friendly and engaging. The food was outstanding as well and as usual based on previous visits. I love taking my parents here every holiday season and they love coming to Ava. The team there is great. Thanks!
Cute little Italian restaraunt, DEFINATELY get the gnocchi, pork chops were decent.
First time here. Loved reading the background about the restaurant and the things in it. The service was really good and accommodating to our granddaughter. They even gave her pizza dough to play with. The food was delicious and we can’t wait to come back.
Good all the ay around. Loved the brown rice bowl with chicken and broccoli and the lemonade too!
Good food, it overpriced great service
First time at this restaurant after driving by while in SOHO for brunch and wanted to try it. Service was amazing, the food was ehh (had the mushroom pizza, only ate 2 slices and the filet, had about 4 bites). Not good enough for the prices and the noise level in the outside seating was unreal; from other customers yelling, construction and a band next door. Not what we expected or wanted for an italian dinner "date night".
Happy hour is only at the bar, which is packed so that’s a little disappointing. Other than that it’s good.
The food was delicious and the portions were good size. Would definitely go back!
Visited Ava several times. Always order egg plant parm. Was not happy this visit , what happened new chef. All sauce to much tomato.
The Chef Clarence rustled up for my lunch guest and I specially made grilled cheese sandwiches which matched perfectly with the flavorful Tomato Bisque soup...it was perfect...and the ice tea with a splash of Mango topped it off. Perfect!!
Food was great, we really enjoyed our brunch. Sad they stopped the bottomless bloody Mary's though.
We love the brunch at Ava! We hosted friends from Orlando and they loved it too. We had a breakfast pizza, margherita pizza, Italian benedict, and shrimp and grits, and some bloody marys, and everyone loved their order. My 2 year old had chicken fingers and fries and that was honestly the best "kids" menu meal she's had in a long time - perfectly seasoned and a good portion. We'll definitely be back. Again.
We arrived early were offered the smallest table in the restaurant even though there were many other tables available. Choose to sit in the bar, several of the tables we could not sit at were still empty when we left. Love the food but left with a sour taste in our mouths
The food was delicious but the hostess ladies seemed to have had a bit of an attitude and we were placed in a very loud and packed room where it was uncomfortable and we had to maneuver between tables to get to the restroom.
We where there to celebrate my friend’s wedding anniversary and we could barely hear each other, while the rest of the restaurant seemed empty.
Wonderful mix of Italian and Mediterranean tapas and unique desserts! Great wine list.
👌🏼 The service was good and love the food
Love the rustic charm of the restaurant. The lunch menu had a lot of good options and was reasonably priced. I had the burger and it was huge and delicious. My guest had one of the bowls and she loved it. Would definitely recommend.
First off, i would like to say that our waitress Nicole was amazing. She was very nice, attentive to our drink and food needs, and also A very sweet person. If youre going to eat here, i would recommend her as your waitress. Food was very good as well!
Delicious pizza and pasta. Great service.
Server was so so. Seemed unsure
Amazing place for a birthday dinner. They were exceptionally accommodating and the food was wonderful. I can’t wait to go back already!
Lovely night to sit outside at Ava. Food was good, our warm ricotta wasn't served very warm, though, and I usually love that dish.
Service was good enough, can’t complain. Bruschetta was excellent, though our main entrees were far from anything to write home about. For $25-30 entrees I just expected my food to be less bland.
For my anniversary, we were put into a room off to the side and it was generally just off-putting. Overall, I would come here for brunch (which is great), but not for dinner.
Good food generous portions.
Would like a few more “specials”
Fresh pasta is the feature here. Some of the best I've had, cooked perfectly The wood fired pizza comes a close second. Try the warm Ricotta appetizer - yum! It's loud inside, so if you don't want the noise ask for a seat on the large outdoor terrace.
Bolognese was super bland. Pizza was good. Parmigiana bland breading mushy/soft. Expected more flavor for price points.
Ordered eggs over easy for my bowl and came back well done. Asked them to redo and they made again. One egg was over easy the other well done again. When I brought it server attention she tried to argue with me that it was not well done. How hard is it to cook an egg and can why argue about it. The pancake was burnt in the bottom. They brought out more eggs but was so over it by then. It’s so hit and miss with Ava. Can get a great meal at Ava one day and the worst another day. I want consistently good food. Manager tried to say they have had issues and servers are really over worked and tired. Hmmmmm.... really???
