They should not be closing. Sad for Portland to lose this gem after 14 years.
So sad they are closing! Tonight is their last night!
Great meal, good luck in the future to the staff as this restaurant closes in the next few days.
Too bad they're closed forever. If you didn't get to go, you're less of a human.
Wonderful food. Very loud - we had to shout at each other - but worth it.
So sorry I waited so long to go. The food was outstanding. Wish they weren't closing.
It is so sad to see Autentica close. Great food, great service, great cocktails. Unusual and inspired Mexican cuisine, especially seafood dishes. And those black bean tortillas were wonderful.
I am hoping that after a rest, they will try again with a full service restaurant. Uno Mas is still open and the west side one by the Timbers stadium, but not the same menu. Wonderful hard working owners.
We are so very sorry to see this wonderful restaurant that we loved close. Their food was terrific and consistent, always - but their grilled octopus was the very BEST in Portland!! the service was always friendly, gracious and let you spend your time enjoying your meal. A truly delightful experience every single time! Best of luck to everyone involved. We will miss you!
Mismanaged and now out of business, SAD.
The place was great. Everyone was very happy with their choices. I always look for someplace special for my Birthday and Authentica did not let me down. Two signature dishes that a Mexican Resturaunt must perfect are their relleno and their mole - both of these were great; the relleno was among the best I’ve had and the mole was excellent. I recommend Authentica to any and all.
Very good as always. Sorry they are closing in a few weeks.
Sad that Autentica is closing! Get in while you can!!
Best Mexican food in town. Truly authentic. It's not just in the name.
Our party was seated 25 minutes after our reservation time which was lame. The food was great, the service could have been much better. Being that I only visit Portland a few times a year, I don't think I'd risk a repeat experience
Autentica is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Portland. The flavors are incredible, the presentation is gorgeous, and the environment is really great. We sat on the patio, which was nice. We had the pastor tacos which are always fantastic, queso fundido with chorizo which is my highest recommendation, the platillo, and the carne asada. Highly recommend all!
The food was all delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. Excellent value.
Neighborhood gem...always great food, service and ambience...love the queso fundido!!
I always have a good experience and great food here. Back patio is a nice place to be and gets shaded by about 7pm during the summer. The house made tortillas with their signature sauces are a must and the octopus dish is one of my favorites.
The perfect brunch. Felt like we were transported to Mexico.
The staff made my 28th birthday one of the best I've ever had.
Great food. Menu is quite limited, but the food they have is just great.
A delicious array of flavor. I liked the rellenos, homemade tortillas, potato salad, and tres leche ice cream best. Mole was also very good and I don't really care for mole. We were not disappointed and will return.
The food was outstanding. Possibly the best mole sauce I've ever had.
The service was great. The staff was helpful with the menu; attentive, but did not hover.
The outdoor patio was an excellent environment.
We had my Dad’s 60th here and it was wonderful. Great food, friendly service and fantastic drinks. We will return fir sure.
Always really good. Well worth the extra drive.
Nice dinner, but Hostess was rude from the moment we walked in. This continued throughout our visit, when bringing drinks and clearing plates. A spoiler, for the pleasant atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. Everyone is super friendly. Sunday brunch can be a little loud but the food is worth it.
As always Autentica did not disappoint. Everything from the service, to the food and ambiance was a total delight. I took 3 friend who have never been there before and they loved it. Will definitely be back soon!
The food here is great, but when we went in on Friday, May 17 the service was terrible. Not sure if they were short staffed.
Loved the brunch options. The patio was quieter than the dining room and a beautiful way to enjoy a sunny morning.
Delicious meal, great service. Just missed the homemade tortillas with the guacamole! Will be back.
I arrived about 15 mins early on 5/4 for dinner reservations I made the day before. The hostess who I checked in with was surly, rude and not at all welcoming. Our waitress was professional and tried very hard to make the best of a bad situation (namely that our entrees, particularly mine, took forever to come out.) The waitress kept coming by to apologize for the slow pace of our entrees arriving, and came by three times to tell us the food was coming (probably a full 50 mins after our appetizers, which felt very off rhythm). Finally one entree made it out 15 mins before the other one! A few of the menu items, including the appetizer and my friend's tacos were very good. The margaritas were not up to par w the better food items and were a bit overpriced ($12 for a basic, weaker pour, house margarita).
Fantastic food!! It got a little loud but we loved it, regardless!
Chips were greasy, service was very slow despite not being busy, pork taco was not edible - the meat was not braised - it was like chunks of rubber. Salsa was great. Took an hour to make our dinner even though the restaurant was not busy and we were there for an early evening dinner before a show - 5:30 pm and it took an hour - 5 visible staff in the kitchen, presumably occupied with prep stuff for the later evening rush. Took 20 minutes to take a drink order. Plenary of fabulous restaurants in the area - so never again.
Good food. But ambience could be better. Would surely love to visit again.
The food was overpriced for the portions, and was not what we anticipated. The location is great, the setup was nice. Their version of Carne Asada was unlike any I have seen before, my order was different that what I had requested. It just was very overpriced for what it was.
Wonderful brunch on Easter! Everyone in our group absolutely loved their meal. Will definitely come again!
Excellent food with good portions. The chilaquiles were tasty with the option to add chorizo or huevos.
Always great place with amazing food. CNt wait to go back
