About Austin's Woodfire Grille - Brecksville
Austin's Woodfire Grille is located directly across from Heinen's in the heart of Brecksville. At Austin's, we've been cooking the old fashioned way since 1994. We start with the freshest ingredients we can find, delivered to our kitchen each day of the week. We make everything on our menu from scratch, every day. We grill over hardwood, not gas, the way that it was a long time ago. It may not be the fastest or least expensive way to do business, but for us, it is the only way. We want each meal you enjoy with us to be a memorable and delicious one; so we work hard preparing each dish to order, smoking ribs and brisket, filleting fresh fish, hand cutting steaks, preparing homemade soups daily and baking our fresh breads and desserts. It’s a difference you can taste and one we hope you will keep coming back for. At Austin's, everything we do, we do because our customers deserve it. We will always insist on a level of service and quality that helps us deserve you.

Austin's Woodfire Grille - Brecksville Ratings and Reviews
Wanted to try something different so drove a 25 min to get there. We were not disappointed. Our server was friendly and gave recommendations. We were seated near the lit fire which was nice for a cold wet night. The crab cakes had a darker flavor and came with a tasty aioli which I think had cumin spice in it. The grilled asparagus and shrimp were done to perfection. I hoped to get an unusual martini, but they were what I find most places and not extensive. The only reason to not come back is the drive.
table for 5, we were seated promptly and drink orders were taken, upon return to table, my drink was spilled all over table ending up on my left pant leg all down to my sock. it was an accident I know, but still it was me and now I'm all wet getting ready to order dinner. we were moved to another table in lieu of trying to mop up and clear the mess on our first table. I hit the restroom to do my best at drying off. server was apologetic and sincere and I was fine with that. we finally ordered dinner and all were fine except mine as I asked specifically for mushrooms and no pepper and got the opposite. so I sucked it up and kept my mouth quiet until we received bill at which time I discreetly told our waitress just so she could relay this to the kitchen. we received our checks as we split into 2 checks, looking at mine I saw they mixed up in that drinks for the other check were put on mine, again I said nothing as we exchanged monies to correct the error outside in the parking lot. I did not enjoy my visit (nobody wants to eat while wet)and my wife told me to just not to make a scene. they did take my drink off the bill and replaced it with another but that would not save the evening...sigh chalk it up to bad luck
Food was just OK. For the price I expect better than OK. and to classify yourself as a steakhouse, the steak should be done to perfection. It just wasn't. I ordered a steak medium, it was done well. My husband ordered his medium rare it was done medium well. Service was pretty slow. The food wasn't bad, it was good. Just, it was very expensive and for that price I should be wowed.
Service was excellent, food was delicious and was served in a timely manner. the chicken corn chowder is my favorite soup. The crab cakes/shrimp combo was also very good. shrimp portion could be a little larger though. The blackened chicken alfredo was excellent as well. Definitely will return.
We thought that they would be busier on a Saturday, but it was fine. We both had the Horseradish Crusted Salmon and it was quite good. The horseradish was not so overpowering that you could not enjoy the fish. The service was just right. Not too bothersome that he was at the table every second, or so removed that you had to flag him down every time you needed something. The asparagus was done perfectly. We especially liked the Parmesan Potato Wedges as well. All in all, it was a very good night out.
If you are looking for a nice quiet dinner this is definitely not the place. The acoustics are awful and it's very loud. Although this was a busy Friday night I've experienced the same level of noise at a luncheon.
Our waitress was rude and made no attempt to get the details of our order. When we inquired she insisted we had ordered specific side dishes. The soup was so hot my husband could not touch it. On the other extreme my shrimp was just barely warm.
Magically our waitress was switched. The second did do everything possible to better our experience The quality of the food was certainly not her fault.
All in all this is not a restaurant I would choose to visit again.
