Grilled Marinated Skirt Steak
Food was very good although some of it not served hot enough...(soup, onion rings). We sent back to our satisfaction.
Glad it looked very busy. I always enjoy coming here.
A little disappointing this trip. Salmon special with aoili was meh. Last time I had a cajun salmon that was much much better. Maybe it was prepared broiled instead of pan fried? Dessert (gooey chocolate chip cookie) was very plain tasting and the ice cream that went along with it was also missing any taste. Buffalo Quesadilla appetizer was much better. Probably just an off night. Although I do think preparation of salmon in a pan takes away alot of taste.
First time there. The service was excellent and friendly. Food quality was a real pleasant surprise. Much better variety and very nicely prepared and served. The raw clams and oysters were fresh and large. The shell steak was really good. The veggie burger was good if you want VG options. There are others as well as GF. I'll go back. The only challenge is parking. It's tough in Forest Hills. Uber or Lyft instead
Returned here for the 2nd time. I wish this place was closer to my house. A 2nd time, consistently excellent food. A shared plate of chicken quesadillas couldn't have been better. My side Caesar salad was authentic and outstanding ... AND ... large enough to be a regular salad (I took half home). I ordered the blackened Salmon special. Cooked perfectly, and outstanding. REAL blackened seasoning that had a kick to it blended with a moist inside that wasn't undercooked. Just excellent.
Went there with a friend and she had the Austin burger which was great and I had the French Dip Supreme sandwich which was big and delicious, but it can be shared with 2 people.
I reserved an outdoor table for a group of 4-5 and it was great. One of the guests had asked for a shadier area because we were with an elderly man but was told by the hostess that those tables were reserved...My sister-in-law said to her, "We reserved a table outside too" but were given a table in the middle of the floor under direct sunlight. There were other tables available as well.
It was really fine until 3/4's the way through brunch when the sun got really hot and sweat was dripping down my face and neck. Where was the ice water? I understand that Brunch time is hectic but someone should be walking around with pitcher of ice water and coffee pot for refills.
I made a reservation for work event so we didn’t all have each other phone numbers and multiple people were told the reservation was cancelled. One coworker even got the manager involved and he confirmed it had been cancelled and therefore she left..meanwhile we were seated outside waiting for her. This was after I had already spoken the waitress about the 1st coworker who was told the reservation was cancelled before I got there. It ruined the whole night. Waitress was nice and sitting outside was nice as long as you don’t mind train. Food was ok.
We love the outdoor space here, and the food was great. So excited to live nearby!
Food was very good but service was extremely slow. Not many diners but that did not speed the service. We finished and asked for the check and still waited 30 minutes. The place could use a cleaning as well. While I enjoyed the food I would not recommend this place. Sort of like eating in your garage.
I wanted to share Joana was terrific and very customer service focus. My family was visiting from Michigan, and I wanted to show them some excellent restaurants in Queens.
Stopped for drinks and a bite before the Elvis Costello show at Forest Hills. Good all around.
Wanted to try it out so went there for lunch on a Friday in June and we were in a room with a big party that was so
loud. I felt the food was eh and not enough choices. It’s good for bar food for those who enjoy loud kind of seedy bar restaurants
I ordered the Mac and cheese waffle burger. The waffle was soaked in burger juice so I couldn’t even eat the waffle. Mac and cheese was bland and gritty. The burger meat itself was okay but so disappointing. How can you mess up a burger? The French fries and onion rings were good though.
Went here for Fathers Day. I liked that the more quiet dining room was separate from the noisy bar. They were not 100% full but it took almost an hour to give us 2 chicken sandwiches and 1 French dip. The server was nice but did not check in often and I had to get up and ask a manager to get me extra sauce for my sandwich. The food was generous portions and good but it definitely took too long. Also, I’m not a fan of country music and I would not have gone to a place that exclusive played that stuff. Just thought it would be normal music, that did annoy me. There is no parking lot so you have to find something on the street which is not easy in Kew Gardens. I’d try it again, but maybe on the bar side next time- faster service?
A gem of a place to go for a nice leisurely Sunday brunch, a quick drink, a group dinner, and a great sports bar!
It has been a while since I was there last and it was just as I remembered it excellent food and service..The noise level was high because they were having a private party which was very loud...
Loved the skirt steak. My dining companions had fish which they loved. The desserts were good also
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I have been going here for years and our family and friends also enjoy going here. Thank you John
This restaurant was recommend based on their wings only. However, the food selection was great as well. I had the spicy Jamaican sauce wings and the penne alla vodka. Both dishes were delicious. Both plates were large enough for 2 people to share. I'd definitely return soon.
My dad loves going to Austin's Ale House for Sunday brunch! He especially loves their Eggs Benedict! I love their lighter version, "Austin's Huevos"!!!
Thanks Austin's for recognizing loyal customers!
Food was delicious. Service was ok. Ambiance was great- it was Valentine’s Day and they had music for that. Loved it!
I love the food and there are so many choices. The fish entrees are great
Everything was delicious but the drinks were lacking and the orange juice tasted like water with a splash of orange in it
Great service and good food.
My coworkers and I had a wonderful time at this location. Our waiter was superb in serving us, and although all members of my party did not arrive, or on time, the staff and waiter treated us all very well, and made a drier end of the work week truly relaxing. I would recommend Austin to any and everyone .
We have been celebrating our Holiday Luncheon there for the past 10 year or so, also (Arlene) my birthday and just lunch with the bosses. I (Arlene) have taken my son and friends there for lunch. I (Arlene) make all the reservation for all occasions. Regarding The Goldstein Firm and also personal. Sometimes we just drop by, for a quick lunch and drink.
Thank you all for a lovely time.
Good food quality prepared to blandness. Large portions. Good beer list. Tight and cramped facility and not the cleanest place. Good staff and service though.
We enjoy going here because the food is very good and so is the service. It's a fun neighborhood spot and always lively.
Great steak cooked to perfection, my boys had burgers which were also good. Good selection of beers and not too expensive
Maybe it's because we ordered off of their special Octoberfest menu but the food was only fair as they don't do a good job with German food. Chicken schnitzel was overdone and tough. Sauerbraten was eh. Potatoe pancakes well done and red cabbage too much sugar and vinegar. The salmon was the best item there. A traditional burger may have been better and cheaper.
My pistachio encrusted salmon was outstanding. I loved the veggies as I like them crunchy. The dessert was great....love tartufo
Super dog friendly and the staff is wonderful.
staff was great and we had a decent meal. some prices seemed high for certain items, but everyone's food was good.
My husband and I have been going to the Austin Ale House for years and we have always enjoyed it immensely. We especially like the patio in the warmer months. This time, we were there for brunch with friends. I was very disappointed in the quality and presentation of the food I ordered, as well as the bread basket, in which nothing was fresh and warm. The mini muffins were cold and nearly stale. The bagel pieces were cold as well. I ordered a spinach, cheddar, and bacon omelette, and it was also very disappointing. You couldn't even see the omelette for all the globs of congealed cheese that completely covered it! The bacon was overcooked. There was almost no spinach. I had to scrape off most of the cheese and push it to the side of the plate. It was gross. The one plus was our waiter, who couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.
Austin's Ale House is a neighborhood gem featuring your regular pub fare and excellent brunch menu. THe big plus is their outdoor seating. Sunday brunch outside can't be beat.
Great service, fresh food, would recommend to friends.
The food was very good, presentation as well. The service was amazing. Overall, a great experience all the way around.
It's really amazing how restaurants come and restaurants go but this place remains consistently good after being around for decades. Their food is always pleasing, whether you want the basics or a but more gourmet., with lots of choices on the menu. Prices are very moderate. Our party was there for Sunday brunch which is a really great value and excellent, and the cool live music was a definite plus. TheI outdoor dining in the summer is my favorite. We will keep coming back for more.
Food was great. Place was very beautiful inside and I really enjoyed my lamb chop dinner. However, I made a reservation for 2 about 3 weeks in advance. When we went to the place I was expecting them to seat us at a table for 2 . Instead, they put us at a table for 4 when a table for 2 was open right next to us. I really wished we had the table of two since it was a romantic Valentine's Day dinner.
